KaptenRödskägg 10 Posted November 9, 2010 There's this move I would appreciate. Sometimes when I lie in the grass I have to select the '3rd person view-button' if I want to know where the enemies are without getting shoot at. Therefore I think it would be more realistic if there was button making the player slightly peek over the grass. Maybe it would be possible making the move into levels by having a hold-button while scrolling or something like the "free-view" Alt button... What do you think? tsb247 0 Posted November 9, 2010 That's a good idea, and it has been suggested before. It falls in the realm of 'fluid-motion,' which is a concept that has been tossed around this forum for quite some time. I can't say whether or not it will ever be implemented. maturin 12 Posted November 10, 2010 You can already do this by aiming at the sky and free-looking, although it's too awkward to do in combat much.
dmarkwick 261 Posted November 10, 2010 Would be good to implement a 6DoF TrackIR solution :) so that I can raise my head and have my avatar do the same. Somehow. I have found that, if I'm crouching behind a low wall say, I can point my weapon down as far as I can and look up as far as I can, and by slowly increasing one and simultaneously decreasing the other I can get a good approximation of a fluid movement. I probably didn't describe it very well, but TrackIR users might know the movement I mean.
nkenny 1057 Posted November 10, 2010 Solution would be better animations. For instance when entering Ironsights from a prone position your point of view could be slightly elevated to permit you to peek over grass and etc. This is a feature common to many ironsight based games- Vietcong amongst them. Sadly it is unlikely we'll see this sort of animation-design-tuning from any Bohemia title. -k
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted November 11, 2010 Well, vietcong had a lot of fluidness in it. Jumping / hurdling over obstacles was just fantastic.
SteveJA 12 Posted November 15, 2010 You can already do this by aiming at the sky and free-looking, although it's too awkward to do in combat much. Haha yeah, tried doing this the other day, and needless to say i got shot up pretty fast.
Wolfstriked 11 Posted November 15, 2010 Just look straight up and you can see over grass.Try to look just enough though as your body comes off the ground making you visible to enemy....kinda realistic but overdone.
