56th DJPineapple 0 Posted October 18, 2010 Hi everyone, not been here for a very very long time. Just got myself a new pc and eagerly bought OA. Ive been having major issues trying to get it to run properly. Ive searched through mulptiple forums and googled for hours before giving in and posting here. I bought a digital download version of OA from www.game.co.uk a week ago. When I initially installed it, everything went fine until I tried to run the game. It kept giving me a securom warning asking mt to put the correct dvd in the drive. This is a download verison, of course I dont have a dvd/cd. I searched around and eventually found a user who had "fixed" this by simply creating a new windows user account and then playing the game from there. I tried this and sure enough, it worked. Very annoying having to log in to another account just to play, but at least I was playing. A problem arose when I tried to update the game, I was trying the 1.54 patch and it tells me that "You have no access rights to install the application" and that was me, basically stuck without multiplayer as everyone uses the latest version in the servers. Tried downloading from several different sources, but all result in the same problem. Even worse, now when I try to play the game, without me having changed anything at all, it wont load up. It tells me something about not having a serial key. Sorry I cant rememebr the exact message, I shouldve wrote it down before posting, but perhaps most of you will know what I mean. So here I am, stuck with no idea what to do. Ive been playing OFP since 2000, and was so excited to play this as I bought a slightly more updated computer after a couple of years without a pc, as someone broke in and stole my last one! my pc specs as are as follows: Windows 7 64bit i5 750 Lynnfield Ati HD 4870 1gb 4gb DDR3 RAM 3tb HDD I really hope I can get some help on this as I cant wait to get in and then join some clan! Newborn 10 Posted October 20, 2010 Hi 56th DJPineapple, i`ve had a similar problem. i guess you`ve got a serial given to you by the customer in a email or in your acc information on the website. normaly when you start the game you get a message from securom to fill in the serial and register the game if that doesn`t work try this one: download newest patch and install into your directory. then start the game. don`t know why but if the game is patched you can play without register. by the way this is the way to play asap. the right way is to write a email to your customer and or securom with your issue. but it will take a while to get answear from them. cya @ Takistan kr newborn Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

56th DJPineapple 0 Posted October 21, 2010 I tried what everyone has suggested. I forgot that I had previously set my normal windows user account to have permissions to do everything automatically. SO that explained why the patch didnt install when I tried to from the new user account. Anyway, I had no luck. I uninstalled the game and erased everything I could find related to it. I installed it again to my normal user account (I did tick install for all users) and entered the serial key provided to me by the shop via email. The game then installed as before. This time, I didnt even launch the game, I just unzipped the 1.54 patch into my ARMA directory and started the patch. It had the same problem as many have had with a couple of PBO files, but this seems to be ok to just "ignore" and the game patched succesfully. When I try to launch the game, it still says I have not got the correct cd in the drive. I then went to the other user account and tried to launch from in there, it has the same "licence data" error as stated in my previous post. I remember when I first tried to play in the second user account, it connected to an online server where my licence was checked to confirm it was authentic or whatever. This step did not happen this time. I still have no idea what to do about this. I want to play badly, and really, I want to play on my normal (primary) user account. At the moment I cannot play at all and I feel like asking for my money back, but that wont help me play the game! Does anyone have any other suggestions? 56th DJPineapple 0 Posted October 21, 2010 (edited) All my files are not hidden. Everything is as it should be. Ive now even resorted to downloading the demo and just laying about in the editor, thats how much I want to play the game. I know getting angry isnt very constructive at all, but I am starting to find myself rather annoyed as I know there are people out there playing pirate copies of the game with no problems. I pay for it, but cant get it to work. Ive played pc games for years and I know there can be issues, but this is not even funny anymore. The problem now is that during install, I input the serial number and the game starts to install. However, when I try and launch for the first time, it should start by showing a window with the option for automatic activation. This step is missing and I dont know what to do to get it to happen. Is there any file I need? It was there before of course, as it came up in the other user account the very first time I had it working. fosfap 10 Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) Hi fellas, I had error whilst trying to launch A2oa (something securom somethying! i fixed it & forgot error. lol) anyway it didnt effect A2 just OA! It was "EZ PLAY" app which is part of burning software, just disable it and OA will run fine. Software being Blindwrite, if u hav it goto start VSO EZ PLAY Manager a pop up should/will appear and just press disable/uninstall :confused: lol either iether! and at anytime u can re-enable it if u need it by going through the same options.
