ARMA 2:OA beta patch 74123

Not that I wouldn't mind fast roping, but it's surely not the normal way to deliver troops. Would have to be activated by script, not something everybody can do from everywhere just because they feel like it.

not to be rude or anything but

who are they ??

why would we need to activate it by script.

we can make a chopper land without script,.. so why wouldnt it be possible to fastrope out a chopper (bis could implement this)

if they like to.

i was just thinking "little bit offtopic"

when u are in urban area's and lets say u have to pass an open area or crossing and there is a abrahams battle tank by your side "might as well be a stryker", but AI is leading your 4/6 man squad how to let them walk in cover behind a moving armed vehicle without exposing their body to much to the enemy ??

can that be done ?

it are things like that i have never seen in arma2.

"They" are the passengers of the chopper. What's the problem by activating it by script? It's the mission designers job to lay down the "rules" of the mission. If he doesn't want fastroping because it doesn't suit the mission, then he should be allowed to do so. Fastroping is dangerous, and avoided if possible. In the game it would be vice versa. People would fastrope onto the airport tarmac because "it is so cool"...

i think i totaly misunderstoot u,

that was my point if a mission builder feels like using fastrope why wouldnt he.

and indeed mission builders should keep reality in mind.

i ask my self why wouldnt they (bis) simplify these features like fastroping ?

i just hope we´l see a new beta patch or final this week!

its no really good state yet....all is bugged.

if you play with the latest offical patch, the AI is screwed up with the danger mode bug, if you play with the latest beta helos constantly crash and wipping around:j:if just one of it [>>>>Latest PATCH] would be gamebreak-bugfree. This is very annoying.

yep, i hope the next official patch comes without gamebreaking bugs...

These are meant to be "beta" patches, we are meant to test and feedback. If you prefer non-game breaking patch maybe should stick with the official release.

Just tested all the choppers with landing troops, BAF choppers as well, and they are still hovering twice the height of a single man to left the troops out. The Merlin also seems to have some extra problems landing on "careless" under fire, they head off and crash into the trees. Is this some kind of new Terrorist script? But instead of buildings its the poor innocent trees?

Also the new recoil is still horrible for the L85. Alot of weapons (5.56) have been toned down but some body must have forgotten about the L85s

( and no i was not using ace with it)

Well, I'm extremely thrilled that OA beta hangs due to alt tabbing between applications while in the windowed editor seems to be completely gone. Also I haven't "lost focus" once since this beta, where it got to become quite a nuisance before. Except when opening and closing the gear menu. Maybe setMousePosition [0.5,0.5] when opened would do the trick on this one?

Edit: Oh never mind. Still focus loss from time to time while actually playing the game...

Im pretty sure you didnt notice or didnt understand me. Also for me its logical that BETAS are there for testing, but theres a gamebreaking bug in the OFFICIAL lates PATCH. Units with Danger WPS dont move anymore, this was only changed with BETAS, not a hotfix patch.

your right with the hovering, i allready mentioned that but Dwarden told me its fixed.

Same with the "dont fire on dead vehicle cew", it mostly works with cars but mosly not for statics.

OS? H/W? Yeah it comes and goes, tho it has gone with different drivers, but then it comes back...patch? drivers? still kind sorting it out, but its not what i have spent my time on testing.
