CDF Militia/Conscripts

For a while i've wanted to get into making addons but lack of available time meant it was a pointless endevor, however in the next few months i'll be looking to save some money and that means staying in.

Consequently i will be able to put the time forwards to something usefull and as such will be creating my first addon. As such i was looking at creating more units for the CDF such as militia/conscripts using AK47's and steel helmets then move onto doing something similar with the russians. I'm basically wanting units to look a little dirtier and worn but was wondering if this is something everyone else would like?

My campaign will have need for vintage 1991 Chernarussian soldiers. I was going to use the militia unit as the regular rifleman, but a steel helmet version would do nicely. The helmets and boots could be the same as Red Army ones from the same era.

Yeah as its my first go i was looking at adding a steel helmet and keeping the Chicom vest. Maybe changing the boots to canvas ones however most post soviet armies except russia have changed to western style boots so not sure. I'll also look to reskin the BTR 40 and add a GP25 to the AK47. I thought about a RPD but i'll see how it goes. My main aim is to make them look crap in comparison to regular army units. maybe have another version where they have mixed equipment or something.

why not add RHs AK pack to this? b/c it contains some AK47s with GP25.

how about the RPK-47 to go with the AKM? you almost never see RPD's in warsaw pact countries anymore although they are all over southeast asia. RPK-47's are quite common though. I have never seen one in arma 2 other then in RH's AK's pack and in Vilas's russian weapons pack.

The "RPK-47" doesn't exist. It is simply known as the RPK. :)

You could probably even get away with giving them AK-74 and RPK-74, just not the fancy stuff like the Kobra or PSO.

Hope you haven't given up on this project yet. What about Semi only rifles very similar to what the Romanians did with the Garda versions of their rifle.

I am not going to DO your project, but I tought this was a fantastic idea, so I just had to make some units :)

A well equiped conscript squad of recruits is being inspected before the training. :)
