RedCanoe 10 Posted September 10, 2010 I see it in my expansions (assume from the latest patch). Does this mean I can download missions that require "BAF"? Thanks.
enad 11 Posted September 10, 2010 BAF 'Lite' comes with the latest Patch 1.54. It was BIS's method to letting people who didnt buy the BAF DLC play online with users that did. It contains all units and vehicles from BAF, but in very low texture quality. It just makes you want to buy the full version of BAF.
hund 0 Posted September 10, 2010 BAF light means that you don't actually have BAF, just the "light" version that came with patch 1.54. However, you can still play BAF stuff, only your models and such will have low quality textures. So yes, you should be able to download and play any BAF mission. EDIT: Dang! max power 21 Posted September 10, 2010 In the documentation I think it says that BAF light is intended for servers.
Laqueesha 474 Posted September 11, 2010 BAF light is primarily designed to ease compatability online between those who have the full BAF and those who don't. Anything else is just secondary.
nodunit 397 Posted September 11, 2010 BIS's thoughtful way of providing us a means to not panic in community seperation by having a new possibly required addon released and have the rest of us who didn't pay $10 left behind. While many do not like the idea of having these blurry units I have to thank BIS for this, other developers would likely have stayed on the "You pay or don't play" train. RedCanoe 10 Posted September 12, 2010 Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll just have a few beers before a BAF mission so I don't notice the textures. Cheers,
