New API [ setMovie ]

Recommended Posts

Following API is hoped for because of the animation relation.

1.The one that animation file (avi, wmv) etc. can be put is hoped for like setObjectTexture.

2.The one that real-time animation of the camera aspect can be put like setObjectTexture is hoped for.

One of the upcoming features for VBS2 is "Render to Texture", so hopefully if that works out it'll be brought to the ArmA code base. :)

Cool. With a bit of luck, we might see that in the next BIS game. ;)

"Render to texture" could be one of the biggest game changer if implemented well (TV, MFD, Optics, periscopes...). But a simple video playback would be nice for cutscenes and plot elements for instance.

what i wonder is how would render to target project sound? sound does travel in arma 2 , but if you've already heard it then it's gone. so if you're really far away and you 'hear' it..

Render-to-texture will make mirrors possible aswell, but I can imagine it will decrease performance drastically.

But keyframed textures, what format will that be in Real Virtuality?

RTT coming with Arma 3. :) more than likely.

Its funny you think they would just make a new VBS game on either RV3 or with future RV build.

Its awesome to see all the improvements coming to it still. BIS has excellent support whats going to happen when they fix almost every bug and limitation with their engine? LOL :D

Miller, VRAM usage, but I think that remains the same, or different?

I think it might just reflect the results of re-rendering.

I think about what is real and what keyframe

What would be the number of frames?

If more than 24FPS, you would not particular problems not?

Sorry for machine translation, English might be confusing.
