Sprocket downloaded BAF wont activate

r click the file and try elevating it if in vista. "run as administrator"

Does not sound like you have admin rights.

Ran as administrator and tried in XP compatibility mode. Same message.

Have you tried:

- Moving the file to a diff drive and running?

- Redownloading the file?

Maybe a Securom issue, however I did a search and this thread seems to be the only one having this issue or mentioning it.

Ouch ... try remocing the securom drivers ... you will have to google this.

Perhaps a game you loaded in the past loaded older ones? dunno.

email sprocket support also and see what they say.

The first post was like 2 hours ago. Plenty of keyboard mashing have been done since then.

Just out of curiosity, are you typing the key in or copy and pasting? If you haven't yet, try copy and paste...

It is the same key (sent to you for BAF by sprocket) that you put in twice.

Put in twice? Twice where? There is only one place to put it in?

I have the sprocket version. I put in key to install it. Then I put in key to activate it. That's what I meant by twice.

You didn't mention what version you are using. If it's steam I have no idea how that works.

Redownload: No difference.

Removing SecuROM: No difference.

It will not activate. Very unhelpful error message. Why does it not write the license file?

I'm getting a bit upset now.

Yeah I missed that somehow. Anyways, I have no idea what that error message could possibly mean. Firewall maybe blocking something?

As asked in another thread before: Check firewall if it blocks the reactoractivate.exe application.

If that's not the problem, yes in the meantime you could have sent an email to Sprocket support. Actually that's what I would have done long time.

Disabling all firewalls: No difference.

Very strange some people have such problems.

I had the error message too but only because my firewall blocked the activator. And the key must by typed in one by one but that you know already.

Only thing I can think about is that UAC (User account control) prevents the application to write to the Windows registry but in that case you should get a warning.

Ok. I tried to turn UAC on and still no diffrence.

Heck i have even tried to activate it in my Linux install. Figuring that since windows is shit and all i want it to do is play my games and stfu i might have better luck with a functioning operating system.

But i get the exact same error there.

I don't have a clue of what to do now.

(And i bought Arrowhead via sprocket with no issues.)

i suggest You contact Sprocket support to check if Your activation is going thru and what's really wrong with the registration process ...

There is a manual activation for securom, never tried it and no idea if it works with BAF DLC.

PS: Some years ago my ISP blocked online activations for my work related software. Whenever I had to activate programs, I had to either connect with my adsl modem to a different ISP or use manual telephone activation.

Still not working for me.

Manual activation requires an unlock request code and that is not provided with BAF.

And i cant be bothered with this broken digital restriction management system anymore, I can live with DRM if it works but this is just broken. If its not working by this evening I'll ask for my money back.
