The game is out for almost a year now, and still no proper editing tools are released. If Marek thinks this game will live

long he is wrong. For EVERY good game (half life, quake, and so many more, all the editing tools were released.

The makers of this game are just a bunch of paranoid lamers, who think their apps are so good everyone is going to steal them. Come on the graphics are completely outdated by now

and multiplayer is as good as dead. This is a good example of what could have been a good game, but because of those

idiots at bohemia and codemasters, it will very soon be forgotten. So far we havent seen ANY acual mods, except for some retexturing(which is a hell of a job for this game) and i dont think we will ever see any

This game isnt dead!! the fun is just starting!!!

Before u now it the mods are out and we can shoot each other with all kinds of weapons and even now there are great addons like the Hawk of kegetys!

But then again thats my opinion....???

There are already the first oxygen addons out there! Only to mention the artillery cannon.

A lot of very good addons were even made without oxygen and every day there are more! In addition to that OFP has a good mission editor which is used by a lot of skilled mission makers. Think of Acalaud`s Terror Tactics.

This and the good support by BIS keep OFP alive. No other softwarefirm granted their games such support with patches like BIS and asked for the community`s opinion before changing something!

And when Resistance is out next month, that will again be new fresh wind for us!! So there is no reason to whine!

4 posts since August 2001, and the only two of those I have seen have been whining....why do you come to these forums? Do you still even play OFP?

OK, no modelling tools isn't a great situation, but between user made missions plus the addons people have made without the tools, I haven't gotten bored of OFP for a minute.

Instead of carrying on like a 6 year old who's dropped his ice cream cone in the dirt, maybe you could write a sensible post or email to BIS giving good reasons why the tools should be released.

Oh, and BTW, many mod teams do seem to be getting Oxygen. Have you been keeping up with current events?

You can't expect the mods made with oxygen come this fast. Taht artillery cannon was probably just a test so we knew that they had it and it worked

Isn't it only TC teams who have gotten the tools? And TC's usually take a while.

WRPEdit or what it's called is supposed to come in may so maybe there will be some intersting and funny islands too.

totally not worth the money, so i want to get SOMETHING out of it

yes i read the other tread but that was so idiotic adoration of bis that i just had to reply and fubar this is the first time in a very long time i looked at

A GOOD REASON? Please , so that it MIGHT become a long lasting game., every game that lasted had editors.

Serious sam for instance has the complete sdk on the original disc .I know for on thing that i will never bring my

vehicle models to ofp. if those idiots dont want em ill release em in some other game.

For most games REAL mods come out after a few months, now its almost a year and even friggin REAL new models

(a complete car, tank, motor, ...) havent come out.

Im quite happy that the tools are released to mod teams, who have been working on ideas now for about a year and thoroughly deserve oxygen due to the work they have put in, proving that there capable of producing models to the standards fit for the game.

And Kingbeast should have got oxygen

As much as addons/mods can add to a game, they are far from essential to make it fun. I don't know how many hours I racked up on Warlords 2 without ever having any mods for it.

Makes me wonder how people have played chess all these centuries.

I can't understand these people who buy games, play them to death in a few days (or a week) then put 'em away.

I still have games over 5 years old that I play, in fact I even play frontier: elite 2, flashback and another world now and then and they are nearly 10 years old.

It seems people just rashly buy a game, play it to death and complain because they've finished it.

When I get a game i take my time with it, if I don't like it theres a local store I can trade it in but this rarely happens.

Half-life, Quake, DeusEx had there sdk released about a year after as well and look at them now

and Serious sam is $25 and in my mind should of been freeware because there is not much to it.
