johncage 30 Posted August 18, 2010 Hi, I feel some of the vehicles aren't polished enough, especially the strykers. The up-to-date desert paint scheme and bird cage slat armor are really nice touches, but unlike some of the other more polished vehicles, the stryker feels naked. this is what a stryker looks like in combat operation: http://xbradtc.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/stryker_050101a_0ntyoa2005-01-31.jpg I also feel like it is not strong enough. Styrkers are easily disabled and sometimes killed directly by rpg hits. A real stryker can withstand the force of a 500lb bomb exploding in close proximity to it: http://www.strategypage.com/military_photos/military_photos_2004101123.aspx all this is leading up to my point that soldiers in the back crew compartment should be able to "turnout" to mid chest level using the 2 hatches on the back and be allowed to deploy whatever weapon they are equipped on the surface of the stryker for stability and return fire. I also feel like it is not strong enough. Styrkers are easily disabled and sometimes killed directly by rpg hits. Ah, the old shooting from vehicles request. Maybe some day, but not possible atm.
NeoHazard 10 Posted August 18, 2010 it is possible I like that. I like when someone says that. :) Optimism is the blood of progress.
AnimalMother92 10 Posted August 19, 2010 Well it's only been requested since at least Arma 2's release. Get to it!
wipman 1 Posted August 19, 2010 Hi, shoot from vehicles is something that has been requested many times from the OFP to this day and that neither the OFP, the ArmA, ArmA 2 & ArmA2 OA allows; is a must have imo... but if you want to be able to shoot from vehicles or move on their cargo... then you've to buy the VBS1 or the VBS2. I doubt that we (the civilians) see this on the next game on this line (ArmA etc). Now on topic. All the vehicles in game look yeah.. as taken out from the factory and driven arround to check that they work, they don't have any kind of furniture that you use to see on vehicles that are used in combat zones, this saves in resources and it's easyer to do but substract alot of the possible atmosphere and inmersion feeling from the game; is sad.. but i don't think that we ever get to see ArmA2 vehicles with this kind of stuff. Let's C ya
tyler4171 10 Posted August 19, 2010 Some of the OA Humvees look like they've been out there for a while (carrying rucks, gascans, V17 Panels, topless, some no doors)
