how to stop enimies from re-grouping?

hi all, i had another thread in diff forum, but it was wrong forum so il make another thread here and ask

im making a mission, and want it to be good. so i want to know how do i stop the enemy from re-grouping?

im placing units all around a town, in houses ect, but they are allways signed a leader, and allways regroup with him, therefore, the dont stay spread out as much as i would like

is there a way to make a single soldier like recon or just stay in a certain spot and walk around or something?

Umm i may have read it this wrong but you can just select 'F1 unit' when placing your units, or if your placing groups you can ungroup them by keeping the group (F2) selected left click and hold on top off a grouped unit and drag to an empty area so the blue 'grouped' line disappears...

If they still regroup and organize themselves after that... then cool, thats some smart AI you got yourself right there

doStop is your friend. If you make a unit doMove to somewhere (as opposed to placing them directly there), wait until unitReady and then do a doStop or the unit will return to formation after the doMove is complete.

you might just need to ungroup them, otherwise you can put "this diableAI "move" in their init boxes to get them to stand still, i don't think there is a way to get a soingle soldier to go point or recon or something like that because they are usually either in a strict formation or are completely scattered everywhere.

i think use are getting what i mean wrong, or i just dont understand what use mean

if i place a enemy ( this is an example ) the left of falar, and a dude on the right, they will run towards each other, IE. no more enemies on the left and right :S

whats dostop btw?

Anyway, you simply have to ungroup them if they are running at each other, Either that or the AI has spotted "a man" it does not know about and is heading towards the man to fing out more.

If all else fails you can type in the units init "Stay here bro, dont move no matter what"

I wish scripting was that simple...

lol, i dont want them to stay there no matter what, i want them to "gaurd" a entrance i could say, if there under fire, then they move.

instead, the dudes are the front, run off to the other dick lol
