Very interesting features. Like them all! Im very curious on how the JDAM will work. Future fix/feature request: - Control handover from backseater to pilot and vise versa - ALL weapons controllable by the front seater (Makes no sense for the backseater to work with weapons in a fast jet) - Targeting Pod available for the 1-seat version - HUD pitch ladders and FPM giving correct info. (Pitch ladders drift and FPM is NOT really pointing into the direction of flight. Its 1-2 degrees too high) - Lead edge flaps move down when pressing the stick. Should pitch down when PULLING the stick. -

This way people see what you should be aiming for. What you see is also my upcomming tutorial mission. This video show how you use it in practice. I even screw it up partitually but still my bomb hits within 30 meters of the target.

Since the GBU12 has a 5 degree cone...and the JDAMs are made by themselves, I doubt that there is nothing there can be done. -

@Saul Fix request: The JDAMs seem to have a release envelope which is as narrow as a 1 degree cone. Which makes it hard to impossible to release it at higher altitudes. The highest I was able to get a lock diamond was 1400 meters. And it was there for just a fraction of a second. To compare, the GBU12 has a 5 degree cone. This gives you a horizontal area of over 500 meters at 1500m altitude. However this works in scripting terms... Please make atleast simmelar to the GBU12. :D -
^^ Exactly what I was thinking. I'd also like to see the possibility of two operators. One flying, one managing the weapons and sensor. The sensors are also hard to control (on al aircraft). Its like they geographically stabilise but as soon as you move the mouse it destabilises for a second. (Off topic. I know)

I must rectify something. While working on my combat fundamentals manual, I noticed the GBU38 that comes with this mod has different dynamics than the stock GBU12. So @EricJ you are right! There is something funny going on with that JDAM! The GBU-12 will 'lock' even at 3000m altitude with a Slant range of 6600 meters. (While a level unguided delivery at 3000m in altitude wil give you a direct hit at 8800 meters) You would expect something similar to the GBU30 since it's the same weight and most likely has less drag. But nothing can be less true. At 3000m with a level unguided delivery the direct hit comes at 7600 meters and it will never lock on! (unless your are somewhere below the 1000m altitude region.) All numbers are based on a speed of 740 km/h (400kts) -

When released as close as possible to release parameters you will always have a direct hit, from any attack heading. (Notice the diamond will come up in the vicinity in that point in space.) The bomb will have exactly the correct energy amount to steer to the target. To much energy may end up in a long fall. Too little in a short fall. Even with guided bombs. We have this 'problem' IRL aswel. My combat fundamentals manual will also include Level deliveries which more apply to GBU's. -

Question on Task Force Radio

The plugin will automatically switch you to the Taskforceradio channel. So no need to get there before the mission starts. -
I think everyone having volume issues should compare their TS volume to TFRAR volume at 100%. You will find the volume is the same. Thus these people should increase their own TS volume using windows sliders.

Very well in parameters again. Couldnt see well since im looking at my phone. Will check on computer later. was that 15 degrees of dive angle? You were kinda perfect on 740 kmh and a valid release was on 800. Solid diamond was on about 750. It requires some interpolating but the numbers check out between the 10 and 20 degree of dive angle. Now show us a 1200m altitude release. And then tell me what the difference is between what NATOs command handbook says and what you do. Because I dont see the difference. ;) -

2. Try talking in a radio when sprinting yourself in real life.....wont work 3. ArmA's sound is simply WAY too loud when inside vehicles. Especially in the F18. This addon's radio volume set to 100 in game is simply 100% of your Teamspeak volume. So just pump up your TS volume. When flying, I always set the effects volume down to about 2%. You dont really need it and its anoying anyway.

Couldn't you make it simpler? As you may know the player can add his own waypoint by shift-clicking on the map. Why not make a JDAM try to keep it's nose in the direction of that location? (Within certain limits) I think the Arma physics should do the rest for you. User friendly. Light scripting. -

Exactly. IRL dropping from 10 miles at 30.000 ft is very common. In short. There should be a whole new system to these bombs. Didnt Mando make a script once?? I was planning to get my head into making a decent JDAM script. Without changing the physics. -

Yes gbu's are indeed guided munitions. But still need to be released close to parameters. Otherwise the bomb will miss. Regardless of guidance. Thats why we use CCRP to get there. Even then we prefer atleast some dive angle (mostly 10 degrees) since that gives the most stable input for the computer. Jdam and lgb efficiency is over modellen is all games I have seen so far. (Including DCS and BMS) It makes sense for the diamond to come up slightly late, making the bomb fall long. That gives the bomb slightly extra energy for manouvering. If the diamond would come early, it will fall short regardless. Too much energy is nog good either though. The bomb is limited in manouverability. That would explain why the diamond disappears. In arma the code behind the lock-diamond seems odd though. In level flight its not comming up, where it should. When I just pickle, it hits the target unguided but the diamond won't come up. -

Practice by choosing one angle and release altitude at 740km/h. When you get that down right, you can start learning cooping with variations. It takes practice. As I describe in my manual, dont expect to be an expert bombardier in just a dozen of shots. I can assure you the lock comes up when you are close to release parameters. As in real life, you need to be relatively close to the parameters otherwise the bomb will miss. Even gps guided. In real life the pilot is helped by cues giving in the CCRP sub mode. Compare your video with the table I converted from the mk82 table. You will see it checks out precisely. (Taking 200km/h overspeed into account) I'll explain: The low resolution makes is difficult to read your HUD but... - Your FPM is at the -20 degree ladder - the target is just above the -25 degree ladder: thus your Aim-off is about 4 degree. - You speed is somwhere near 900km/h which is little less than 200km/h over speed 1. For a 20 degree dive bombing run with the parameters above (@ 740km/h) the release altitude would be 517 meters. 2. Your speed is about 180km/h to high so expect the bomb to fall 100 meters long. 3. #2 would decrease your aim-off significantly. So you need to release from a higher altitude. See page 6 of my manual: You want to make the bomb release 150m higher to compensate for this. 4. 517 + 150 = 667m 5. Reviewing your video. This checks out. The diamond comes up slightly under this altitude Conclusion: The diamond comes up in normal dropping parameters. Video and tutorial mission is comming soon. -
