No. As far as you're concerned, those characters are junk. Left over from an older version of the boards. Only use This inflame true in the init line. Nothing else.

this inFlame true The other characters (</td>0</tr>0<tr>0<td id="CODE">) are there because of differences between the current board software and the older one that post comes from.

    M14 Pack

You could create an addon with a resistance unit that uses the m14s as a dependency.

    OFP.info 2.0

@Zulu It's possible the old links could be placeholders. I imagine it'll be a while before things settle down. I like the new look though. It's clean and has a modern feel to it. Sure the old site was familiar to most OFP fans, me included, but ultimately the content made it what it was.
  5. Consider an account on discord. The A3 channel is pretty lively.
  6. I don't know about anyone else, but I can't see imgur lnks. I won't tackle the last part of your question. I'm not an A3 aficionado. There's plenty of people here and on Discord with far more experience. But the animation will need to be configured to have the engine use it. As for the first part, if you're doing static animations you don't need OB. You can just export straight to your project folder. I only really used O2PE to show the rtm had been successfully created. Although if you're set on using OB, the mesh you view the animations on should have only selections used by the rtm.

Might be a while before it's live.
  8. I think imgur made some changes recently judging from the looks of their site. Maybe it was more than cosmetic. If so that would explain why you can post new images. Anything I posted before the changes, have gone bye bye.
  9. I think the developers are well aware of the real world ROF. As joostsidy mentioned, It's likely a conscious decision to avoid bullet spam, for the potential effect on performance. Changes like that are best left to modders if there's genuine interest in it.

That address is turning out to be tougher than chobham. Thanks to everyone involved for getting it back onto the field.

It tends to move a little depending on the terrain. So I assume it's setpos'd onto the tank. I wouldn't say it's "gimmicky" or a hindrance. But personally I'd go for the modeling approach. It can be intrusive, and I imagine it will bother a lot of folks. Intro was nice too. Set up the scene without being too long winded. I'm patient though. Bridges are the bane of AI. Sometimes roads seems to give them trouble too.. Or buildings. Trees. Or other AI.

A good solid mission Snafu. The artillery is a simple and effective addition. If I have only one gripe, it's that it's not long enough. A second objective would've been great.
  13. No-one expects you to spend money Max. I don't think that even came up. A lot of sites besides this one don't allow ripped content. It's not a new development.
  14. If you see a model with little to no description of the mesh and the associated materials/textures, that's one clue. But the other one will be the rest pose. It's rare for someone to go to the trouble of creating a model set up for animation and unwrapping, and just give that away. Especially if the standard is decent. That static mesh from Cgtrader looks like it would be a major pain to get into a game setting.

    I want to start modding

This might be of some use to you too. As it's based on the basic A3 character mesh. The rig should let you test the weighting in blender before you export. If you're relatively new to Blender you might need to do a little research before you jump head first into it.
  16. I've been around long enough to see where this is going......
  17. So out of curiosity, how many addons you talking about? Everything? Or just a few?
  18. You can wait for a mod to give you an answer. But I can tell you what it's going to be. If you've edited someone else's stuff without their consent, well intended or not, even with credit, you won't be allowed to post it on these boards. I know not everyone has the skill or time to create the assets and configure them. But it's the only way to avoid problems here.

Really? It's the first hit that comes up with a search for "Blender download". https://www.blender.org/download/ You have 2 options. A lot of folks I meet trying it for the first time, go with the installer. But you don't have to. You can also choose the zip version. Why? With the zipped package you can have multiple versions without having to gum up your registry. When you feel like deleting them cleanup is minimal. Click on the blue text ( MacOs, Linux and other versions)to reveal the other download options. Choose the right one for your own OS. You can use the 32bit versions, but if you're using a 64bit OS, then there's not much point. So go with the Windows 64bit zip. I don't know if I have the version of the tools that has O2PE in it. If I can find the installer I'll send you a copy. You'll need it to convert to the older Mlod format, if you're using it to model. You don't require it for animation though.

I use skype once in a while. And I'm using discord at the moment. But that's it for me. A lot of people don't have the cash to spend on professional software. Or can't justify the expense for a hobby. So you either use something like O2Pe ,OFPanim or take a shot at blender. There's no cost involved, and the only hurdle you face is your own motivation and willingness to learn how to use it. It's a powerful application with a couple of tools that make it stand out for modding arma in particular. It holds it's own in relation to the big names.

That's true. But that's the beauty of the engine. With a little skill and some motivation, you can take things in different directions if you want to. Fight in ancient rome. Become a ninja, a wolf. Or a super soldier from the far future. My point is, it's always been a mil sim, but that hasn't stopped modders from creating some really cool, strange and even funny stuff that has nothing to do with the core game.

My soul is saved.... Going off topic is par for the course on a forum. Many things can affect performance. Dialing back on the detail can help, as it takes some of the load off. But that doesn't always mean it's the source of the problem. Looping scripts aren't too bad if they're sparsely used. But if there's one attached to every unit in a mission, or many units, then it would start to drain resources fairly quickly, coupled with anything else that might be happening. And as far as I'm aware, it's the CPU that shoulders most of the load with OFP/CWA. And yes. Animations are great. But at the same time, confusing as hell. But they can add a whole new dimension to a mod or addon. Animations like close combat might be a big challenge in Ofpanim. I think in order to save your sanity to some degree, you might be better using something with IK. What that is, is entirely up to you. But it's going to need some study no matter what program you choose.

Maybe going off topic a bit, but as long as the models are built well, they shouldn't affect performance to a high degree. I'm not saying they wouldn't account for some drain. But they'd have to be pretty badly made to cause a serious hit. If I was to guess, based on my experience, large numbers of AI are likely a bigger resource hog. Followed by excessive and badly written scripts.

Well. As long as you're happy. Although I didn't see anything worthy of a fix when I tried the model. I was using vanilla settings obviously. Is that one of your own anims? How is it called in game?

How to get over the fear of talking?

I know a couple of people with a similar aversion to talking in a game setting. Maybe not that pronounced. But it's still not uncommon. One thing that helped was getting to know a few people rather than jumping into a situation with complete strangers. As has been suggested. Of course there could be some other biological factors at play. But I think your own personal outlook has a lot to do with it too. You don't mind posting here. So that's a start. If you can at least communicate with people you can make connections. Out of all the situations you could try, it's probably the least uncomfortable. You can bail out when ever you feel like it. In fact it might be better to avoid the situation altogether until you do make a few acquaintances. Part of the fear might stem from the unpredictability of it. Maybe get the thread moved to "offtopic". And good luck to you.
