Various problems with A3 terrain making

Good to know I am not alone ...I thought it is me just being stupid :D -
@ ProGamer The current map (I use for testing) is 225 km² big including the two fictional islands "Komandorskaya" (48 km²) which is a russian territory, volcanic island, based on "Anukta" Island ( Aleutian) and U.S. territory "Fox Island" ( 16 km²) based on "Shemya Island" (Aleutian). Fox Island comes with "Campell Air Base" (based on Eareckson Air Station). A third island is planned but working on it has not yet started . Probaly seize of the final map will be 400 km² ( a large part will be sea though). Map location is N 57°/ E 168° in the Bering Sea ( Komandorskaya Basin)...Arma 3 timeline No special features planned so far...working on the basic map atm ... :) cheers

thx everybody @Mr Pedersen since this is based on real existing Aleutian islands I would like to implement a matching rough climate with strong winds and sudden weather changes including rain AND snow ( snow storms would be awesome ). Some snowy woods are also planned allthough there are nearly no trees trees on the real world islands...but who could resist :-). cheers

8/10 2 or 3 missions more including a sniper/stealth mission around the airport and/or Agia Marina and something like the " night" showcase mission ( sabotage) giving the player at least in a few mission a bit more choices and tactical freedom and it would have been a 10/10

A few things I have noticed during testing... All soldiers are based on the "Northgate" story character . Would be nice if you could add the Miller and James types (uniforms, headgear, radio) as well. Also unique identities would be cool (right now they are all Northgate's). The para beret looks really cool but does not work in first person ( wrong texture path)...I know it is not your resource...just sayin... keep it up :) -
I am doing my own landscape textures and ambient sounds and if absolutely necessary some clutter and vegetation. Because of the setting (terrain is based on real Aleutian islands) there is luckely not that much needed. I hope to be fine with Arma 3 ( dead and brown grass and weed for example) and if avaible some A2 resources for creating some tundra like clutter and vegetation. No plans for buildings so far ... cheers

Any chance for getting proper surface sounds in the near future ( or am I the only one with no or wrong sounds when running on roads and some other surfaces) ? cheers and thx for sharing your hard work -

thx just to clearify...using roadsegments was just a wild guess since I never looked that deep into Arma scripting and did not know how to explain the basic idea the easiest way.. It was not my intention to give any suggestions or provide any solutions for how to handle traffic in different areas but just to point out that it would be nice to have that feature in general. another speculativ idea would be to have a basic car traffic ( very low) and an increased traffic around the inhabited (white) houses which would simulate more traffic in urban areas...( again this is just a thought) cheers and thx for the great mod and your hard work- 5767 replies

For me Russia is a vital economical and cultural part of Europe. I absolutely can not see them as an enemy but as an ally against islamic, global terror. During my service time ( in the 80ies that was) I was trained to fight russians tanks and today my son is learning russian at high school....things have changed to the better. Since Russia is no real enemy but of course plays its own game "green faction" seems to be the most logical ( and interesting) choice for me.... just my two cents :-) cheers

:D thx but cars are fine. I just think there should be less traffic on dirt paths in the middle of nowhere than on main roads or around inhabited cities and villages ( seems more realistic). @ Lordprimate ...I am modding games myself now since over 20 years but thx for explaining the meaning of user ( me) config ( settings) ...btw none of the settings let me create different spawn rates for different regions... I am not complaining this mod is absolutely awesome but TPW has asked for feedback and I think this is apoint that would make things even more realistic cheers- 5767 replies

No problem here so far as well, but after playing the campaign, the showcases and a lot of scenarios I would love to see less cars in remote areas in general. While everything else blends perfectly into nearly every scenario, I find the cars very often immersion breaking. Maybe it would be possible to have seperate car spawn rates for different road segments ? cheers- 5767 replies

first of all I have to say this is absolutely epic However...At the beginning (on the way to Kamino) leaving the truck too early seems to break the mission...tasks given at Camp Maxwell are assigned before reporting in and briefing, directly when entering the camp (does not break anything but seems not right) -

Maybe spawn and despawn some civillians together with the furniture inside the buildings to make them real inhabited....maybe also spawn some plastic chairs and tables at these tavern gardens and of course some desks and computers inside the office buildings...adding random market places would also be cool as well as placing a few of the fish trawlers at the piers ..last but not least spawning some civs inside or around the churches at specific times would also be cool... just some random thoughts :)- 5767 replies

Wouldn't it be more logical to have Russia as an independant faction playing its own game, happy to see NATO forces stretced to its limits but also keeping an eye on the islamic expansion at his own southern borders ( Iran,Turkey and Syria) ...just my thoughts :) -
Wouldn't it be better to combine TPW AI modules (bleedout, los, fall, eps) and WW AICover anyway? This way we could have one mod covering immersion aspects only (TPW civs, animals etc) and one mod taking care of AI stuff (TPW/WW AI).... just sayin :)
