[IceBreakr/IBIS] Isla Duala for A3
chompster replied to icebreakr's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I see my last comment got lost being the last comment on the page. But i'd still like to know what happened to this. With units now being part of the map it adds yet more cold-war weapon clones to the already over saturated cold-war weapon pack pool that many other mods add(and thus many people/groups already have) Was really looking forward to them being their own thing that way we could use the map without worrying about having a 4th set of AKs, RPGs and PKMs added to our groups mod pack but so much for that.Is this definitive or is there any chance of still getting a militia-less version? -
[IceBreakr/IBIS] Isla Duala for A3
chompster replied to icebreakr's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
err... whatever happened to this? And before anyone says i'm ungrateful, it's simply annoying to 1. have units you don't actually want. 2. have duplicate units and 3. have yet another pack of weapons for the 100th time in your mod set because everyone keeps adding their own AKs and RPGs and PKMs. I am very much grateful for the time and effort these guys put into their mods of course(because it's absolutely amazing), but can't help but it feels that these things ever get taken into consideration. -

The Iraqi Warfare Mod [Alpha]
chompster replied to Marve_XT's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
While i respect your decision, all you're really doing is giving these idiots with their falls claims even more power by bowing down to them. Yet another one bites the dust... -
Boohoo buddy, this is the internet. Get over yourself. And yet there were those that were coming here requesting him to remove it from the main mod files. And then suddenly it gets picked up by the press who make a big deal out of it and he ends of removing it all together? Oh boy that sure is a coincidence. And if it really were that easy, then why didn't they just do so instead of coming here asking him to take it out of the mod? All my posts? what are you on about mate.. i made only one post about the subject. All of my other posts here so far have been bug reports.
-
While i get why you would do it, there are a number of dedicated ISIS mods out there.. So why would you get in more trouble than those for having a single faction in an Opfor pack?I honestly wouldn't be surprised if one of the Germans tipped them off on this JUST so they would get on your case and you would change it so they could use it on their server. And even just reading this article it's sickening to read all the utter bullshit that is being spouted. How anyone with even a shred of common sense and a few active brain cells would be fooled by this would be completely beyond me. I mean seriously did you read it? LOLWUT.I'm sorry but WOW if something like this scares you into removing stuff from your mod.. ISIS has been modded in long before your pack and never have any of those mods have any issues. sigh

yes yes yes! I can't get enough of these maps. Looking forward to it!

Arma 3 Roadmap for 2015. Likes & Dislikes.
chompster replied to esfumato's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
we did it guys, it only took about 10 years.. but we did it! finally we're getting some of the basic/no-brainer features to arma we've always wanted and other games have had for just as long!! Wonder if you'll be able to rest launchers.. -
I disagree. Regardless of their legal situation, they are the minority here. So if they want to use it they're the ones who would have to make changes and not the rest(majority) of the community. Anyhoo, bug report: Don't know if this has been reported yet, but the IND RACS Machinegunner(PKM) actually spawns with a M240B. So idk if the name is wrong or the weapon he's spawning with. He als only spawns with the magazine in his weapon. While i get there is a ammo bearer for a reason, having to constantly get ammo from said bearer seems very impractical. Then again the player could just grab a backpack..
-
All of this would be a dream come true, but i highly doubt any of it will ever see the light of day in an Arma game.

[CLOSED] FFAA V6 (Spanish Army Mod)
chompster replied to FFAAMOD's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Any chance at all for them to be a standalone addon/mod? While nice to have more faction, there are other mods out there already doing this as well(Leights OPFOR Pack comes to mind) so having yet another IS(or any other) faction added through(in this case FFAA) another mod only clutters things up and adds duplicate units/items that aren't really needed. Not necessarily a request, just food for thought. -
oh my, delicious! Will these require HLC AK or can you also run them without it?

Not sure if these are intentional but noticed some oddities. First off the Mercenaries/specops are listed under a second Afghan Army&police group. And inside this some units don't seem to be in the right place/seem to be missing. -Afghan army looking dudes(2 closest) in the (i'm assuming) mercenary rifleman group http://imgur.com/uyppjfH -mercenary dude in SpecOps AT group http://i.imgur.com/r2pGs4U.jpg -And again the same 2 afghan looking dude in the SpecOps Support group http://i.imgur.com/r5G7kla.jpg Really glad to hear, only thing stopping the group i'm in from using it. ISIS are the thing right now i get, but nothing beats some good ol' middle east tribal fighters. Goodluck!

Can never have enough of these(PR) maps! great work! -
how does arma 3 feel to you ? (as of update 1.36)
chompster replied to cptprice's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
It's not really that i feel that it's a finished game, but more that i'v come to accept that it's a finished game. With close to 800 hours playing arma3 I'm still quite disappointed with it. Both content and feature wise i feel it hasn't made and steps further from previous titles. Visually it has of course improved, and the stance and inventory/customization are great(and desperately needed) additions, but that's pretty much where improvements ended for me. Aside from the most glaring and obvious issue, the Ai.., the never ending feeling of "oh the community will finish the game for us and add crucial features that should just be in the game" just radiates all over the place. It's great how moddable the game is but a lot of the things that have been modded in year after year with every title you would kinda expect to just be in already.. *cough*weapon resting/bipods*cough* And i'v made pretty clear my stance of the new way they're handling their DLC so i won't go into that but i'll just say that it leaves a lot to be desired.. -
Want working weapon resting? use the AGM mod for Arma 3.
chompster replied to jakeplissken's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
That it should still be a base feature of the game.. -
This is something that we'll, very unfortunately, probably never see in an Arma game.
-
Yup using the latest version(from PWS) and it definitely happens only when i have RV and JSRS2 on. Once i disable JSRS2 the Gorgon(vanilla name) is no longer listed.
-
With JSRS2 enabled the AFV-4 Gorgon is still listed in Zeus but when you try to spawn it the game crashes. This is just speculation on my part as i don't know what's actually going on.. but it seems like the M-ATV doesn't seem to be going through all it's gears? when you play only with JSRS2 you can hear it revving(?) at a really high pitch. Other vehicles also seem to suffer from similar things, with their sounds not changing and staying in a (annoyingly) mono-tone state.
-
Really liking it so far, changes are great! Makes driving in Arma3 so much more fun. few things i noticed: -Quite a few vehicles not Zeus compatible. -KamAZ typhoon ammo has a typo (amoo) -Some REALLY funky stuff starts happening when you use JSRS2 Edit: about the Zeus thing. It seems as if a bunch of vehicles don't get listed in Zeus unless you spawn one beforehand in the editor. This is especially noticeable with the civilian KamAZ's. But it effects some other vehicles as well, like the FIA DMAX's. Also the FIA yamaha 450 is invisible and the FIA 700 is listed twice(sometimes in Zeus as well, but sometimes not..) http://i.imgur.com/OXBk0YR.jpg

[IceBreakr/IBIS] Isla Duala for A3

Hope not. Much rather it be a separate "mod" so those that don't want them aren't forced to have it. -
OPX2/Middle Eastern Style Structures
chompster replied to opteryx's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Dear god YES. I'v been longing for these types of buildings for cities in maps(takes me back to BF2PR days) Regardless of quality these will look amazing on the right maps with the Arma3 lighting. Amazing work so far. -
That's looking really nice. Will it have any special attributes? or is it just a skin for the box truck. Also wondering if you've looked into towing capabilities? last i read somewhere in the general section was that vehicles without a driver always have their brakes on which is why it wasn't possible. If you know, has any of that changed?

Toadie's SmallArms and Animations for Arma3
chompster replied to toadie2k's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
The group i play with uses PWS and we have a custom repo which adds all the mods we use in one collection to make things easy. Unless i'm mistaken there's no way to do that with PWS, so an official mod with everything in would really help keep things simple instead of eventually having like 20 separate mods. I get why, so people that don't want certain weapons and pick and mix to their liking, but some just want them all.
