[BUG REPORT] Branch: development-Errors
skatardude10 replied to kadinx's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Errors on Screen: - Error: creating weapon HMG_127_UGV with scope=private (it has been appearing since last update too) and 13:07:31 Error Undefined variable in expression: bis_rscrespawncontrolsmap_shown 13:07:31 File A3\functions_f\respawn\fn_showRespawnMenu.sqf, line 25 Both of these are present in my workshop mission as well. The respawn menu error breaks my mission completely. The menu is shown apparently, but it's blacked over and the only way to get by it is to hit escape and kill yourself. The weapon error is just annoying. 4/28/16 Dev Branch and I still get these errors. I will work to see if I can find a fix tonight and i'll post back if I figure anything out. If a BIS dev or anyone wants to look at my mission code to help debug this I have it posted on GitHub here: https://github.com/skatardude10/Factory-Clash/tree/master/Factory-Smash.Altis -
Steam Workshop: [TDM/CO/PvP 21] Factory-Clash Armaholic mirror: Factory Clash TDM-21 GitHub: Mission Source and Script Files Overview: Factory-Clash is a three team death-match, HVT Escort - Extract mission that takes place around the factory north of Kavala. Description: Three teams battle to hold, escort and extract the High-Value "Intelligence Officer". The HVT provides real-time intel on enemy locations for the team in control, providing additional perks such as increased stamina as motivation for safe extraction. This mission is based on a TDM style of gameplay. History: This mission has served over the past 6 months as a personal test bed for scripted elements to test all my crazy ideas (3D Intel HUD, LOS markers, player tracking, etc). This the culmination of my best attempts thus far to improve immersion effects such as losing stamina and visual fidelity upon taking damage, mild concussive effects from bursts of personal and nearby gunfire and grenades, and some other AI reaction stuff. Features: Random Faction / Class Loadouts Virtual Arsenal CAS and Artillery via JTAC Roadside IEDs (Disabled by default) Recoil and Injury effects Parameters menu to customize your game (sane defaults applied) Numerous other gameplay / AI features No Addons or Mods required. Script Credits: Brians200 (Roadside IEDs), Tonic (VAS), Iceman77 (Status Hud), Zooloo75 (You're Dead) Comments, criticism, suggestions, optimizations, etc, are all welcome. Enjoy!

Found a bug in Dev Branch 1.53.132942. Blufor Ammo Bearer class with "this enableStamina false" causes unit's ironsights to become misaligned with or without mods. This does not occur if init is set to "this enableStamina true" or if Rifleman unit for example has "this enableStamina false". Fatigue Feedback (dev branch)
skatardude10 replied to solzenicyn's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately this only removes Stamina and does not restore Fatigue. Additionally, I ran into a bug: With or without mods, setting "this enableStamina false" messes up crosshair alignment depending on what unit is played. For example, this affects the Blufor "Ammo Bearer" but not the "Rifleman" units. I have not tested with any other units, but I suspect it has something to do with the unit's loadouts. Here is a screenshot album to illustrate the bug. I will create a feedback ticket regarding this. http://imgur.com/a/hFTdO- 1935 replies

1.52 optimizations go a long way, best improvement seen yet.
skatardude10 replied to pd3's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I appologize if this does not apply to you at all... but just to make sure, do you periodically clean your computer physically to remove dust / replace old thermal paste? Verify CPU/GPU clock speeds / boost is functioning, ensure windows didn't revert any performance options you may have set? After a while I found that ArmA 3 was starting to run worse and worse. It turns out something about my GPU got bugged over many driver updates, and was stuck at 600 Mhz instead of boosting to 1250 Mhz. At another point, for some reason my 4.5 Ghz overclock was no longer taking affect. I had to reset my CMOS. In my case it wasn't ArmA, I just wasn't monitoring my system as close as I should have been. I hope some of this is the case for you, because that means you can fix it! If not... then darn. -
I tried DK1 in ArmA 3 back when they were shipping the first dev kits. I had hacked it together to work somewhat well with increased FOV + opentrack. The extremely low resolution caused enemies 50+ meters away to appear as single pixels or less. Also, there was no true 3D effect unfortunately. Tracking would constantly crash, movement was not 1-to-1, the game stuttered and glitched, controls were really whack. There was no judder with the DK1 like there was with DK2, but it had horrible latency and blurring which was extremely nauseating. Despite these monumental shortcomings, this was the most fun I have ever had playing a video game. Flying a chopper in first person (IN THE GAME) felt like I was on an infinite rollercoaster that I could control. It felt like flying, as opposed to ... playing a video game. Oculus has technology that feeds the headset a consistent frame rate and interpolates geometry between frames if the game FPS is lower than the refresh rate... so that even if a game drops to 30 FPS, it still feels like it's running at 60, 75, 90, 120Hz to your brain. I think this could help in ArmA's situation, especially if you keep to playing missions that are well optimised.

Fatigue Feedback (dev branch)
skatardude10 replied to solzenicyn's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
I don't normally post here, but I have been playing with the new fatigue system on dev branch for a day or two now and would like to voice my opinion. First, I like the visual indicator. It's great to see how much gear you are carrying, and how much you are able to sprint. With that said, I really REALLY hope they find some way to keep the old system in the game. When the old system first came out, it sparked quite the uproar in the community. But, over time I have (and I assume a lot of people have as well) come to love the 'old' system. It was highly dynamic, and made a TON of sense once a simple concept is understood: Carry more gear and you won't be as quick/agile. The whole dynamic of the fatigue system adds so much to immersion, that I sorely miss in Dev ATM. Wether I can sprint very far or not does not produce any immersion (for me) like the old system in which I would always think to myself about how to approach the situation: Terrain, Gear, Tactics, Distance, Mobility, etc... While playing with the new stamina system, it entered my mind while on the attack running up a hill with a full loadout "Huh, I am not tired at all." The whole dynamic just was no longer there. Terrain, gear weight, distance to my targets. I found myself no longer thinking about any of it, and in the heat of battle (on DEV w/ Stamina) I find myself aching, wishing my avatar was out of breath, unable to make that quick getaway due to circumstance, to make the situation just that much more immersive and entertaining like it has been, but that wasn't the case. How can I script this back? Is there a button I can click in Eden or a difficulty option to switch? Otherwise, this just really kinda killed a huge immersion aspect of the game for me.- 1935 replies

I've got the same issue. After switching from the DEV Branch back to normal, I now get this same exact error every time I try to join an MP server. Sucks!

I was having the same problem. I have A3 installed on my SSD and realized it was full.

I love this!! My new favorite other than a few things. IMO the firing sound could use a little work. Other then that, echoing the ejection port thing too. Also, this is normal IME for v1.0 weapon addons, but as you may notice the side rail attachments are off (above the rail). Good work otherwise! -
Dead Zone Folks: Why not use freeaim?
skatardude10 replied to mordeaniischaos's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I found a youtube video that can make deadzone just like your video EDcase. Just bind turn left and turn right to mouse left and mouse right so when you turn your gun moves but you also slightly turn your body a bit too. It also fixes the sluggishness of the edge of deadzone... but it would be nice for deadzone to be fixed regardless ... AND work with trackIR! -
Vegetation Texture Pop-Ups Still Ugly
skatardude10 replied to Donner's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Im running maxed out and I still get some crazy LOD popping, on an SSD, 16GB ram, GTX 680. -
7850 recommended, I have a 6870. ARMA III on actual RELEASE?
skatardude10 replied to UKFX's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I don't know if this is relevant to the conversation but I had to RMA my gpu so I was left with integrated graphics 4000 on my i5 3570k. I had to turn down my graphics obviously but with all the graphically intensive options reduced I was still running 55 - 60 fps like I would with a gpu. So imo the processor is the most important aspect. The game will reach a certain level of performance based on your processor... then turn up graphical settings and it puts load on your gpu until your gpu can't keep up with your processor. With my 680 on all ultra... half the time I'm cpu bottlenecked and get down to 30fps and the other half I'm gpu bottlenecked when not much is going on and the 680 doesn't want to push out more than ~59 fps with 4xaa 16xaf on ultra but will pump out 120fps with lower graphics settings. That description is all over the place, my apologies too for beating this dead horse
