Hi Schroeder, As Jeff has mentioned in his post BISIM no longer offers personal editions for sale as we are solely focused on supporting our military, government and commercial customer base who are the intended users of VBS and the new line up of software we offer. The cryptic advice that there may be other possibilities comes back to what many others have posted in this topic. This being the purchase of a commercial licensed subscription. Due to the cost involved in this yearly subscription it isn't really a viable alternative for the average home user. Hope that clears up the ambiguity in the previous post. Regards, Troy -
Job Title: Technical Support Specialist Position Description: The Bohemia Interactive Simulations Orlando, FL, office is looking for a professional and enthusiastic Technical Support Specialist to join our Customer Support group to work with customers in the US and our other global markets. Experience with VBS or ArmA is highly desired for this position. You will need good communications skills as interacting with military and civilian customers will be a large part of day to day life. You will need to have a competent knowledge of computing in general as well as the ability to identify and diagnose both software and hardware faults. You will co-operate with the VBS core team to understand the development roadmap and be able to inform customers about implementation of key technologies. Key Areas of Responsibility: Provide technical issue resolution to customers via on-site, email, phone and other electronic medium. Install, configure, and troubleshoot simulation software Test new software prior to release to customers Identify and correct or advise, on issues with software and hardware configurations. Administer and moderate company support forums. Manage customer licensing Prepare and coordinate special contractual builds Ensure orders are prepared, packed and dispatched as per company procedures. Assist in the preparation and setup for demos and special events Write knowledgebase articles and other documentation Take on special technical projects as required Objectives: Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction Provide responses to all customer enquiries within the given SLA timescale Provide a positive experience for any customer interaction with the company. Follow defined customer support procedures and policies. Assist customers with various projects. Skills: Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills. Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines. Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications. Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized. Experience with hardware and software issues. Education & Experience: Required: Intermediate knowledge of the VBS or ArmA products, including scripting, terrain creation or model creation. Recommended: A Degree in Computing or a technology related subject Experience in Defense Simulation, preferably VBS or Arma Aptitude for basic C++/C# programming and scripting languages. Hi Maven, With the Personal Edition you are provided free updates for the life of the product. So you are not required to pay any annual update or service charges. So you only pay for the initial product. Support costs come into it for Academic and Commercial customers only. At present the PE version is not listed on our store as we are in the process of finalizing a few things. For those who want to purchase you need to use the contact form on our site at http://products.bisimulations.com/contact-us Our offices will be closing down over the Christmas period between 21 December and reopening 2 January. Orders placed during this time will be processed after the 2nd. -
