Using UAV in vehicle gunner's seat causes AI behaviour to take over
colonelmolerat posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
If you are in the gunner's seat of a vehicle, and you connect to a UAV, AI behaviour will take over - ie, while you are piloting the UAV, your character will use the vehicle gun to engage any nearby enemies. This can really give away your position if you're trying to be sneaky! -
Deploy bipod on SUV roof from standing passenger position?
colonelmolerat posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Could it be made possible to weapon rest/deploy your bipod on the roof of the SUV when you're standing up (turned out) in passenger positions left/right 1? ie, rest your weapon on the roof of the SUV when you're standing up in the back? It would then make a pretty nice mobile shooting platform.- 2 replies

Eden - Allow editing of mortar loadout from 'attributes'?
colonelmolerat posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Using the Eden editor, you can edit the cargo loadout of vehicles, etc (fantastic!). Might it be expanded to cover mortars (and other static guns)? At the moment, you can't customise the ammo loadout for them without going through classnames etc. -
Boats in a group set to 'Careless' barely move

Interesting, I didn't know about those, thanks! -
Any way to get a 'lift cargo' waypoint to work with a Slammer?
colonelmolerat posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
I'm trying to sling-load a Slammer with a Huron, using the 'lift cargo' waypoint (so that the AI will pick it up). I've lowered the Slammer's weight, but all the Huron does is descend over it, then fly away again, unattached. I've looked for scripts, but they all seem to just allow the player to airlift heavy objects, not the AI. Can anybody help, or recommend a simple method I can use? (I'm not very good at scripting, so may need a pretty clear explanation!) Thanks!-

My profile has two 'interests' fields. One is filled in, and I can't delete the info.

For some reason, my profile an 'interests' field that's filled in. (It's weird as anything, I suspect it's automatically taken the data from somewhere - Facebook perhaps?). If I go to my profile settings, I can't delete this interests field. There is another interest field I can edit (that's blank), but if I put anything here, I end up with two interest fields on my profile. How can I remove these 'interests'? -
Boats in a group set to 'Careless' barely move
colonelmolerat replied to colonelmolerat's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Even with the waypoint speed set to full, they creep along. I hadn't realised that "The group will form into a Compact Column like formation" though - perhaps the bug is because they can't get into formation in the first place? They spend forever very slowly moving about, getting nowhere. Perhaps they're trying to get into formation, but can't because they're boats and not very manoeuvrable? If they're set to 'aware' they drive straight off in full speed, but then you lose the benefits of 'careless' behaviour (ignoring enemy fire, etc). At the moment, I've had to set the behaviour to 'aware' and set 'allowfleeing' to 0, but this is obviously a sloppy workaround. -
'Drop Cargo' waypoint - AI takes forever to drop cargo, even in open areas
colonelmolerat posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Using the 'drop cargo' waypoint, an AI helicopter carrying a vehicle takes a very long time to descend and release its cargo, even in very open fields. It will slow down, approach the landing site, then suddenly veer off at speed, circle the area a few times, and try again. This can repeat for many times before the cargo is finally dropped. I'm using version: 1.56.134627, on the main branch, Windows 10. Here is a link to an example mission: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByElbgVZoI3SYVJmWEF2RnpqNlU/view?usp=sharing (The Hurons carrying the Hunters demonstrate this behaviour. The Slammer is being dropped using some code.)-

colonelmolerat posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
If you set a group of Assault boats to move to a waypoint, it works fine.... UNLESS their behaviour is set to 'careless'. If it's set to careless, they either move very very slowly, or not at all. This is on Windows 10, 64-bit, latest version of normal-branch Arma (Eden-update), as of 19/02/2016. -

'Wait for Me' AI command - what does it do?
colonelmolerat replied to colonelmolerat's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
I've noticed people suggesting that. Is that all it does though? Seems a touch pointless! Edit: After an hour of 'Where are you?!?' and 'Report position!!!' being shouted at me, I may change my mind... -
'Wait for Me' AI command - what does it do?

But is there a difference between using 'Wait for Me', and 'Stop'? That's what I'm trying to work out. -
'Wait for Me' AI command - what does it do?
colonelmolerat posted a topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
I assumed this command caused units ahead of you to stop, then start moving again when you caught up... It doesn't seem to do that - it seems no different to the 'stop' command. Does anybody know what the difference is? There are a few very old posts about this, but none seem to answer the question (or they answer it incorrectly).
