  1. Is the LPD Galicia in the mod, or planned at all?
  2. make a ticket in our feedback tracker please no chance, first of all why would we want to occupy a slot reserved for some specific function for kneepads, and second why would we want to split kneepads from uniforms at all? to be honest i dont even think its technically feasible unless the item is not in one of the three main slots (uniform, vest, backpack)

Arma 3 map coordinate zoom fault

maps sometimes have a different axis origin, it's not a glitch
  4. yes (although collisions might be iffy from time to time)
  5. How would they differ? (anyhow no, there's no further changes planned for now)
  6. ANZAC frigate currently undergoing a refit, weapons have been overhauled, now has Vehicle In Vehicle compatibility through the hangar (helos have been adjusted as well), can now show a big fancy flag to let everybody know who's the boss, also has been added to the roster of AAF and RACS factions:
  7. is this cup stable or dev?
  8. also please drop by our discord server so we know who you are and can put you in the tester group chat too https://discord.me/cup-arma3
  9. Well, thats something i didn't know, cool stuff i guess. Anyhow we're not doing anything inherently weird with the frigate, it has regular geometries and roadway lods, there's no script managing that.
  10. It's a moving vehicle so you're bound to have several issues like weird collisions, if its in multiplayer it will probably get worse as soon as locality of the vehicles changes.
  11. Not sure, they are probably encoded as gunner seats so you should check if there's a scripting command to tell someone to turn inside. If they are players you should be able to just turn in like you would in any gunner seat. Which "other ones" can't you see? The crewmen? That's because the interior is not fully modeled, that's how BI made it for some reason.
  12. Bugs go here: https://dev.cup-arma3.org/
  13. More floaty things: https://imgur.com/a/alBZSQQ
  14. It's for whoever we can make textures for, as you probably figured out by now we don't have strict rules about this sort of things considering 80% of the factions in game are fictional. If you want to make some of decent quality for whatever faction you like you can do so and we can plug them in directly, we have tons of stuff that was added like this. It's already in, and works correctly as a hovercraft, aka it moves on both land and sea.
  15. haven't thought about that possibility tbh, but it can be arranged. Because of the VIV setup there's a lot of empty space on the deck.
  16. The autocannon's traverse and elevation have a very tight angle because of how the Ka-52 is made with the whole coax gimmick (blame the soviet engineers who thought this was a good idea i guess). However in Arma you cannot have different traverse and elevation for different weapons on the same turret (or gunnery station, if that makes more sense to you), there's a main animation that controls how far left/right and up/down you can look with the turret, so that meant that you either had to choose between having the correct elevation for the gun but an extremely tight window for missile control and general flir usage (which for a recon helicopter is pretty bad), or have a proper camera with 180° FOV but also have the gun moving all over the place even to unnatural traverse and elevation (imagine the autocannon turning 90° sideways, it would clip with the fuselage). Changing topic, under permissions from Burnes/Byrne we have added the LCU Mk.10 to our assets. It uses the regular vanilla VIV functionality and can carry pretty much a whole army of vehicles in it. Unfortunately because of how VIV works and how the deck of the ship is made (an L shape with the cabin on the rear right hand side) we had to come up with two different variants to account for the different cargo space usage players might prefer. I'm too lazy to make fancy preview pictures but here's a few pics i grabbed while messing around with VIV: https://imgur.com/a/ZMOgnBj (before you ask, the VIV rendering is still broken but that's an engine issue and there's nothing to do about it, only BI can fix it)
  17. the technical explanation is that "coax mode" is an entirely different gunnery station, even though youre still sitting in the same spot and everything is mostly identical, it's not. this is how arma works and there's nothing to do, this felt like the best compromise we could come up with. also it has nothing to do with flight models.
  18. the australia map should run on its own set of a2 buildings and classes and it doesn't work in conjuction with cup terrains
  19. ka52's cannon mode can't support the take control function, when i encoded that stuff the take control function could work only on one seat. unless something changed or i missed something it will never be addressed as it's an engine issue.
  20. What kind of justification is this? So if someone doesn't go online on the forums whatever content he made is fair game to you? This isn't how the communnity works pal.
  21. Just because im not around doesn't mean you can steal whatever you want you filthy thief. My mods are OFF LIMITS, they're not even available for download anymore for a reason.
  22. It is with great sadness that i announce my retirement from the Arma series. Simply put, i don't enjoy this game as i used to anymore. This experience with modding Arma was never to provide a service to the community first and foremost to me. I was always driven by my own desire to have content that i liked in game, the way i wanted it to be. And i can say that i succeeded in my goal (despite a few happy little accidents along the road), however long that lasted. Modding this game taught me new skills, introduced me to people with whom i shared the same passion, vision, and satisfaction of seeing something as big as CUP come to life. Now i've come to a point where the time spent modding is just not justifiable by the enjoyment i get from playing the game anymore. I can't play the game once without finding at least three things that are either broken or that i dont like and want to change, but lack the time to do so, so i end up with a huge backlog that keeps growing and growing to a point i don't have time to do new things i like but instead have to chase after old bugs. The other big reason that pushed me away was, well, Arma. The constant annoying issues (just saturday my plane crashed after the pilot hit "eject" by accident because of the same old crappy useraction menu), the unappealing content from the base game, the fact that for every bug fixed with a patch two new (and possibly more annoying) ones slipped in, the monetization debacle (and the subsequent time wasted chasing after people doing stuff they weren't supposed to do), often times the lack of documentation or the broken legacy features (took them 2+ years to fix amphibious vehicles, and now it seems to be broken again) slowly eroded my enjoyment. On top of this, a good chunk of the playerbase has left and i dont see them coming back until the next game is out, whenever that may be. THIS BEING SAID, BI, despite however many poor choices they did, managed to keep this game alive for more than 4 years. Seeing them constantly add new features to the game and how much they cared about it is what puts them aside from all other companies in the industry. I have to admit trying to keep up with them was a bit of a chore at times, but i was happy with the final result because the game was moving in the right direction engine-wise. All of this came to the low, low price of €0, completely free of charge. I can't think of any other company going out of their way to do things like this 4+ years after game release. I also want to add that the few people from BI i've had the pleasure to deal with have always been extremely kind and supportive of what we did, always ready to answer our questions or going out of their way to see if our requests could be satisfied. And yes, Arma has tons of defects and issues, but it's also the only game to do what it does. I don't leave this game thinking that i'll find what arma has to offer somewhere else, because that just doesn't exist. On a final note, i want to thank all of the people from the community who helped us and supported us, and all of the CUP Team in particular. It was great working with you, and sometimes i honestly regret not joining you guys sooner. Maybe things would have gone in a different way, but it is what it is. In the words of one of the head developers at BI "CUP went way beyond anyone's expectations" and i don't regret a single second spent here with you guys. Maybe someday we'll meet again, i don't exclude coming back to Arma in the future if conditions change, but until then this is a good bye. Have a good one.
  23. I was just making a joke on the 1bln dollar request. :D
  24. ...and maybe im interested in getting 1 billion dollars. If he's ok with sending me the money im sure we can find an agreement. :) Also you put redundancy in a bad light then suggest we should share our assets creating even more redundancy, so not sure what that accomplishes.
