  1. First off, please excuse my ignorance I am a novice scripter at best and know precious little about vehicle modding. I've been fiddling with the new karts a lot.. and being a huge fan of Celery's Road Rage missions for Arma 2 I was thinking of trying my hand at a similar mission except using karts instead of UAZs. Looking through some other missions both new and old I've been able to do some fun stuff like add nitro boost to the karts and the ability to drop smoke grenades (if only there was a banana peel and turtle shell model in A3 :p). I tried adding weapons (LMG) to the karts using addWeapon which works great in SP. However on dedicated servers the other players cannot hear the weapon firing nor can they see the bullet tracers.. but they CAN see the bullet impacts and certainly get killed if hit by a bullet. Now I know that this was not the case in Arma 2 using the UAZ (the one with the turret in the back) so my guess is that because the karts don't actually have a turret in their config the weapon I add is somehow not being broadcast to all clients? Or maybe there is another difference with Arma 3 and how it handles adding weapons to vehicles and I just can't figure it out? Any advice would be appreciated!!

    Sorry if you mean the random spawn @ start when using respawnTemplates no I don't think that is fixed... I was referring to the respawnOnStart not working properly in prior A3 patches. You had no problems using onPlayerRespawn though?

  5. Thanks for releasing this...looks like it might be a good testing tool as well. What is your position on usage of the scripts? I can envision using some of this in my own missions.

    Yeah I don't get it either. I think he's probably referring to ALiVE (DAC would not be affected by this.. not sure about the other 2 mentioned) which pulls from config classes. Next ALiVE update will have the carts blacklisted.

  9. It does indeed look easier to control. Added bonus is that you don't have to be in the mech to control it :p

    I've also heard onPlayerRespawn and onPlayerKilled are somewhat broken right now (since they fixed cfgRespawnTemplates and respawnOnStart).. haven't tested it myself so take that for what it's worth :o

    What do you mean by you don't see them in the editor? Do you mean under Trigger effects you are looking for the custom sound? In the trigger effects there are numerous categories I think you will find them under Voices but not 100% sure. If you create a radio trigger and try and play your custom sound by putting playSound "Miller1radio" in the onActivation field does that work? You hear the sound OK?

  19. ah yes that is a bug as far as I know.. I don't think you can prevent the random location spawning at start you could hack around it by setPos the player where you want them after the mission starts http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?178196-Arma-3-Repsawn-Issues

    They do have some kind of checkpoint and finish line .. looks like new items added with the kart DLC... DNA does the game automatically handle that stuff you just add the objects in the editor?

  23. Thank you for the update gmwo... I'll give them a test later today. I'm not sure what would be the problem in multi-player but I can ask people much smarter than me to take a look.
