    User Mission Request Thread

What are the top dynamic campaigns these days? Friends and I were playing BECTI and modern modifications of it, then discovered KP Liberation and it's been the closest thing to what we've wanted so far. But similar or better mission recommendations would be very welcome!

    A-10 Warthog Series Standalone

Weird. I was just playing with both the A and C models and the C didn't give me the option of using either pod, that's why I was asking. I'll fire up the game and double check though. ETA: Derp. I found it Thanks.

    A-10 Warthog Series Standalone

Sorry if I missed it, but is it intentional for the A-10 to not have a laser designator in the targeting pod? Seems strange since most other aircraft do or are capable of carrying one.

No idea why it's not working for you, but I'd really like to be able to use the larger UAVs. The Darter works fine for me but it would be nice to launch my own airstrikes instead of just guiding in arty.

Arma 3 Benny CTI : How Arma is meant to be played

Is it possible to reduce (not eliminate) the number of AI teams? It seems that they're really slowing down my games after a while. Also, how would I go about adding the new vehicles that have been released?

Arma 3 Benny CTI : How Arma is meant to be played

Is there a way to add the newer vehicles to the scenario? I'd also like to have UAVs as well...

Thanks, I owe you another beer now :D

    [SP/MP] BeCTI

Is there a way I can reduce the number of AI squad members? My game starts chugging badly when there's more than 15-20 of them.

    [SP/MP] BeCTI

Update on this, I've tried every method I can of placing the PBO into the MP folder (changing names, changing data, putting JUST the mission file into the folder, etc) and nothing is working. Doesn't pop up in Multiplayer. I've tried putting it into the editor folders as well and it doesn't come up there either. Can someone walk me through this? I'm a bit frustrated...

Er... everything but the version number (I'm new to this). How do I go about changing that?

That's where I had it. Would I have to unsubscribe to the Steam version for it to work?

    [SP/MP] BeCTI

First off... THANK YOU BENNY. A friend and I have been having a blast on this :D Questions though. I'm using the Steam version, and I've been trying to tweak the mission so we can start out with more money (and a few other things). Main problem is that when AI is enabled, they immediately start purchasing ridiculous amounts of units so that within 10-15 minutes the game is chugging and almost unplayable. That means they aren't out capturing towns, which means we do all the work, which means it's very slow going... on Stratis it took us about 5 hours to capture all the towns with AI disabled. I don't want to think about how long that would take on Altis :butbut: Anyway, I unpacked the PBO and started looking through it, and found that I can tweak starting money AND the number of units the AI can purchase. Problem is that when I re-pack and drop it into the mission folder, it doesn't show up in multiplayer missions. I think I should rename it, but it seems there'd be many files that would need to be changed if that's the case. Any ideas on how to do this without tearing my hair out? Maybe I'm putting it in the wrong place as well? We're not concerned with balance. Also... is there a secret to placing the naval yard? About 90% of the time my boats end up worthless on dry land with engines in the red. I've placed it as close to the water as I can several times and in several different orientations but it seems to happen any way I do it. Thanks for any help :)
  13. Howdy guys... First off, sorry for the lack of activity on the forums. I'm a huge fan of Arma II but my internet kind of sucks over here in Afghanistan. I was about to make a new thread, then I ran across this one so I'll post here first. I was a teensy bit disappointed with Arma II's implementation of UAVs and would like something a little more realistic... obviously not a direct copy of a real-life interface (for obvious reasons) but putting together some of my favorite simple features from multiple platforms would be sweet. What do I do? I fly UAVs of course :p (contractor) I'm most definitely not a programmer; all I can offer is my input of what I would like to see. I don't think it would be extremely difficult to implement, but again, I have no idea. If anyone is interested in working on it, shoot me a PM and I can give you my thoughts. I don't even have a computer capable of playing Arma II but it looks like I'll be here a while so I'm seriously considering it... :D
  14. I'm only talking about how Arma 2 affects my interest in other modern FPS wargames... not games in general. Nothing really compares to Arma 2 within its own genre... but there are games in other genres that I would consider just as fun, but in an entirely different setting. I have withdrawals at work and Arma II won't work on my laptop, so I installed OP:F on it tonight :D
  15. Drat... I was afraid of that. I didn't want to skimp on anything, but I made the processor my priority so I didn't have much left for a graphics card. I'll have to see what card I can get for a reasonable price that will run it well... I can probably spend $300ish. Might have to upgrade my 640w power supply as well with a better card :o Thanks. I'm running the lowest AA setting (not off) because it makes the trees look MUCH better than when it's completely off... I'll try turning it off completely, at least in desert maps.
  16. Hey guys, I'm not really getting the performance I would like out of Arma II. These are my specs: Intel Core i5 2500k GTX460 768 8 gigs RAM I'm playing at 1920X1080 (37" LCD TV via HDMI), so that's probably part of it. However, I saw a few command line settings that were supposed to help with performance... any suggestions? I'm not sure how many FPS I'm getting (I'm at work or I would check it), but it's definitely a bit choppy at normal settings. Fairly smooth at low, but still times of choppiness, especially if I have a lot going on.
  17. Well.... I consider myself an old-school PC gamer, meaning I've been gaming since the Commodore 64 days (Yeah yeah, there's older-school than that but you know what I mean :p) and REALLY got into the "Golden Age" of PC gaming, around the early 2000's when EB Games and stores like that had racks upon racks of great games; games like Deus Ex, Half Life, early Battlefield titles and many others that are often mimicked but rarely matched. Well, around 2006 I moved, and at the same time I got an XBox 360, my first console since the Genesis. Unfortunately, my gaming PC was getting severely outdated during the same time, so I slowly turned into a console gamer... and pretty much gave up on PC gaming, which had dropped off substantially in both quality and quantity around that same time. Then a year ago or thereabouts, I saw a few videos for Arma II, which snapped me out of my console gaming haze and reminded me how much I missed REAL gaming. For years I had been stuck on games like Call of Duty: MW and Battlefield: BC2 thinking that they were now the norm... how wrong I was. I scraped together some money and with the help of a friend, built an acceptable gaming rig early this year, and my first purchase for it was Arma II: Combined Ops. For the last few weeks, I've been playing OA with my best friend almost every night, having an absolute BLAST in the process, in complete disbelief at what I'd been missing. We're still discovering new things, trying different methods, and learning as we go. Now that I'm back into "hardcore" vs what I call "casual" now (COD and such... pisses people off ), I'm much happier and gaming-fulfilled. And able to laugh at people who call console shooters "realistic". :D Sorry for the novel :o
  18. I've got issues (first post BTW). This is aggravating. It seems that my graphics settings are only working in Editor mode (testing maps and such). I can tweak any setting I want and see the difference... but when I enter a multiplayer game (even hosting) my graphics settings revert to high quality which causes FPS issues. I've tried changing my CFG file, which didn't work (trying read only and not) and multiple attempts at changing settings in-game, but there's ZERO difference in multiplayer. Again, going back to Editor mode and previewing a mission is fine, all my settings work properly. Any idea what's going on? My system: Core i5 2500K Windows 7 64 8 gigs RAM GTX460 768
