don't say that - many players think exactly the same.ACE tab modified,pr tab removed,almost every addon coder tried to remove it.Most logical approach will be to have settings for server admin.If you coop lover play with tab,if you run serious game server admin you should have possibility to control it. There are a lot of ways to change current game play - but imho main problem bosses dont want do anything at all.

new game old threads - fire in the hole! loooooooooooooooool :) - I heard they not very good with weapons. From another side any propaganda page will you tell our weapons can do anything and kill anyone - automatically.As soon as you limit something you will get army of zombie with complains their tab is not working.... -

agree non sense at all.So in good weather, at day time, for ground vehicles TAB-to-LOCK of enemy targets should work only on distances up to 2000m. In ideal case unless target within 2000m of another friendly unit. Based on this fact need to change config of all weapons in game personal AA launchers need increase effective range from 1km to 2km and all TAB to lock functions limit with 2km or make it changeable. -

lol - do you read full phrase ? first not people - talked about gunners in m1a1 and m2a2 second they able to see ''the images were no more than thermal “hotspots.†So needed to be implemented thermal viewer - which looks like not like FLIR, more like night view in game where distance targets will looks like dots. -

old problem - object view distance is 50% of game view distance.When set 3km - tanks and others vehicles appears only at 1.5km.Big problems with it - but looks like impossible to change anything as nothing done since game release. Actually from my observation this problem linked with hardware performance.Even players with latest computers are suffering problems with game.So imho, if you will increase these 50% to say 75% this might make your game fps equal 10. From other side - in real anything which greater than 2km is not real. http://archive.gao.gov/d31t10/145879.pdf "Although Bradley and Abrams gunners were able to see potential targets out to 4,000 meters or more, the images were no more than thermal “hotspots.†Crews were generally unable to distinguish between friendly and enemy vehicles beyond 1,500 to 2,000 meters under clear conditions and as close as 500 to 600 meters or less during rainy conditions." So imho developing war simulator using method of increasing view distance is wrong way. -

There is several problems with edition or server settings. I need to say that first problem is big fps drop for players over 3-4 of game.Temporal solutions is make VD 500m for couple of seconds - but over couple of minutes it drops again. To avoid such problem I suggest give more supply. There is 4 level supply upgrade.There is also secondary problem most commanders didn't know more likely you never win without at least supply 2 upgrade.It is due to very slow grow of them. Considering both problems solution can be found in removing supply 1 and 2 upgrade and give speed of supply 2 from start.This is also decrease time of game.Last 2 games I play as commander we hold 90% of towns nether not able to fly using attack helicopters or upgrade supply.Win only by the fact position of our opponents was even worst.But game for all players already start lagging and many quit as unplayable. Second issue is balance between armored vehicles for east and west.If west and east team have equal amount of good players,east always wins.It is because building heavy factory for east side give T34 with HF0,t55,bmp2 with hf1.In same time west side only get stryker with HF0.M2A2 with HF1. I need to say there are multiple bugs with these vehicles in game give east side big advantage.T34 working with TAB,bmp2 have very high fire rate and radar abilities, T55 strong armor.From another side overturn stryker mean dead crew and vehicle and it is very weak to be in heavy factory ,m2a2 fire rate and armor are very low. Most game I play in west team losing even not able to build m1 tanks. Solution is very simple.If you build heavy factory you should be able to buy tanks.May be not HF0 - but at least HF1. There is small issue with spawn.m113 (!) for east side give you spawn in any place you want.Even with enemy standing next to it.It is also very cheap and fast.If you want to have such exploit vehicle on map it needed to be move to lf3 at least. 4.Voting issue.Somehow needed to be changed.By default ai commander needed to be switched off. -

there is another thing urgent and really simple:New default player settings set maximum ping 300 for browsing servers.There is bug with some servers show ping 2500.They not populated as not visible. -

please fix something big like https://dev-heaven.net/issues/2649 or https://dev-heaven.net/issues/4812 and release 1.63 :) These ghosts always was and will be in game :).If you had lack of features I'll create another one to have ability to put ghost on map like fake infantry. -

sometimes I feel this is theater with 10 actors or may be 1 ? :) Someone damaged brain implement this stupid tab feature in 2000 in ofp.Unfortunately such feature not exist in any kind of weapons,and imho was copied from game called armored fist. Anyway such feature works within standard ofp view distance around 1000-1200m set on servers at that time. There is also was not so bad way of implementation from both views - reality and game as within such short distance gunner in real life should point crosshair reasonably very fast. But with increasing view distance in arma1 it appears as exploit and cheat. Due to natural reasons (air dispersion,surface of earth etc)there is imposable to recognize friend or foe on ground for ground vehicles beyond 2.5km(I noticed official pdf report of 1991 for m1a1 and m2a2 in dev heaven) and any simulators should follows such important facts. Most missiles presented in game need manual targeting or visual appearance of targets so air vehicles should not be excluded from rule as well. I understand frustration of some players as normal wish to have something which can be done automatically.But there are many players who want to take right shell from armory manually,load and fire in manual mode. So should be compromise setting.ON or OFF.It will allow people feel spirit of some kind of sport.No between players who able to press 2 keys faster on keyboard,but between who got keen eyes and reaction and brain work to determinate target and destroy most dangerous target first. -

what is the problem then ? sorry I missed point.You just said was implemented - but in next post you said is not. I load game with latest beta ,go to setting, set autoguide off but tab still works.What it is about ? -

On videos from Syria RPG fly out of video view distance easily.I'm wondering how they manages to hit something.Distance may be easily more than 400m. -

Will be nice to have some kind of setting to allow play either with hard or easy settings if they wish to.That will stop complaining of both groups.In a3 as well. -

view distance is simple joke.where you can see even 2km away ?In a3 some people set 12km right ? There is nice yt channel FUNKER530 how war looks like.

4 years of constant fighting is pretty enough for me.I will check progress using yt but I feel A2 oa is the last game I bought :)

Should I create new ticket for arma4 ? As still no changes since 2009 I'm pretty sure this not will be fixed even in a3
