  1. Well I hope this isn't hinting that the project may die. Honestly I'd be happy with a Alpha/Beta of some units, US or VC/NVA just to keep me busy with missions for a bit.

    Ohally should release what he has stating in the release that there is a bug. Others do it all the time. If he doesn't want to work on the fix anymore than maybe someone else will come up with a bug fix. At least we'll have the uniforms and can, if necessary, use other weapons in the mean time.

    the sound fix was provided by community members other than the mod makers. I will try and find the fix (assuming the that download link still works) I'll pm you with where to find it.

    Yes, the mod is out of date. It works but there is no sound anymore, however if you search this forum chain you will see that there is a temp fix file that you can download that will provide weapon sounds. Sorry I don't have time to search for it now otherwise I would have added the link but just search back for it, it was posted twice since last summer. The mod makers are coming out with an updated version of Aggressors eventually.
  6. Diffusion9. I understand that the mod makers are working on an update for CAF but they are usually very tight lipped about release times. I know they are the same team that work on the Aggressors mod and they have been working on that pretty hard to bring a large update very soon. My guess would be that they work on both mods somewhat (70/30 split? Aggressors being the priority at the moment) at the same time switching between them as inspiration hits or frustration makes them put one down for a bit. Just speculating on that.
  7. Is there a release date for this yet? ..... lol just kidding! Thanks for showing some of the work to date, it is exciting to see the progress. I put off ARMA 3 for a bit because I play Unsung for ARMA 2. It was tough moving to ARMA 3 and leaving Unsung behind so now I'm looking forward to this release.

  11. Everyone likes the immersive feel of "jungle" maps, but Vietnam actually had a great variety of terrain only some of which would be classified as jungle. With respect to Primary Jungle, the underbrush would very often be sparse since triple canopy jungle lets little light through. You'd have a thick layer of humus and decaying leaves and short plants that grow in that. Where ever there are openings in the canopy to let light in (a good spot for an LZ) you would find more bush and grasses. The Ia Drang Valley was forested but certainly didn't have that stereo typical jungle look. I think the key is to provide a map that gives the player the feel of being in the jungle without completely killing frame rates.

  15. A few things I'd like to see in the next release..... I appreciate the mod is finite and not everyone's wishes can be accommodated but here are a few things that I'd like to see. - Arsenal compatibility. I assume that will be in the next release. I hate going into arsenal and losing by primary weapon (disappears). - More Vests. Grenadier vests, Gunner Vests in tan and OD as well as CADPAT. Lots of guys used 3rd party vests rather than government issue. - More CSOR units. The basis of all my missions is around the Regimental Infantry but if Special Forces show up I'd like more units than just the JTF2. - Regimental insignia as map markers. - Berets with Regimental pins. (a nice to have). Just some ideas, not that you were looking for any :).
  16. My guess, from what I gather, is that the parachute mod is tied to a specific C130 mod that is no longer available anywhere. Someone has to make it compatible with other C130's. I assume its tied to the scripting in the parachute mod possibly naming the specific C130 mod by name. just guessing based on some of the responses here.
  17. Excellent :). When do we get to see a sneak peak? I may be unusual in this regard but I'm most anxious to see the VC & NVA units.
  18. The Unsung mod is the definitive Vietnam War mod for the Arma series with VTE being a good second (IMHO). Alduric and Devil who were working on the other mod you were referring to have joined the Unsung mod crew already, I believe if not full members at least contributors.
  19. Yes it was a big and complete mod in Arma 2, It will be a huge under taking to bring it to Arma 3 I'm sure. I hope it doesn't take too long to bring the first of many releases for Unsung. :)

    'That Bloody CAF'. once again the Amra community shows its appreciation for free mods by being critical of what was made freely available. All mods eventually become unsupported in time, the fact that you apparently are still using it (or the servers you play on do) says that you've had a lot of use from it. Yes finally a new up-to-date mod to replace Aggressors, wonderful, but no need to be ungrateful for a free mod that provided many hours of playing time. The only reason why I care is because if free mods go unappreciated then people will simply stop making them available on Armaholic and only distribute them amongst their clans.

  22. It also works with A3MP. I prefer A3MP over AiA because it is a much smaller download. When using Panthera I noticed a couple missing textures in A3MP, the castle ruins (I forget the second one at the moment). These were static objects that made no different to game play (unless you were fighting at the castle). IceBreaker mentioned in a post on a different thread that Lingor will probably be build for A3 only.

    Hi This looks very interesting, I look forward to trying it over the holidays. I've been wanting something like this for a long time. Please support N'ziwasogo jungle island in this mod, it is the best jungle island for the Arma series.
  25. I think not. New content and updates have been promised and nothing to the contrary has been posted. It has been a long wait, agreed, but I am still hopeful to see some new CSOR units :).
