I can't save games in SP have to start from scratch at every level and on completion the closing dialogue is incomplete and shows this message 'A3\Missions_F_Exp\Campaign\description.ext/Campaign/Missions.' So what's wrong?

Well that's gratitude, I was ARMA long long before steam, back when MP was a maybe dream and we played clans on dedicated servers, if this is really your attitude Bomethia.... stuff you

Yes! so the scenario is this, I'm half way through a section, has taken me the best part of an hour because I like to play cautious, suddenly have to go out for a few hours, can't leave the computer on because that is a hazard and fire risk. So when I come back home and turn on again have to do the whole thing over again! which genius came up with this concept?

Well that's just silly or stingy or both! WHY? so what about the error message?

Greyhawk missile & bomb deployment. What is going on?

I made another thread before I found this, it's impossible to finish something like Preventative Diplomacy where you need to use the drone but it doesn't work in any way. David -
I have been playing ArmA since 1 I find some of the new official missions near impossible due to IA not following instructions etc. My biggest gripe is what I have just played being Win Preventative Diplomacy, and mainly with the DRONE/UAV, I have read how to control and fire the Drone but it will not obey time after time I am left with no artillery but wings full of rockets and targets on the ground. Please fix or present somewhere the correct method to target and use rockets David

This game is a complete and utter failure and this is why:

I am a long time ArmA player and I can say to ALL the whiners go and find any other developer, game or productive software, who spends as much time as Bohemia making their product better and more flexible in response to users feedback well after the product has been released. David -

An excellent response by clearly a dedicated developer, this should put an end to this thread David -
PMC04... argh (Possible Spoiler alert)
djmorgan replied to slay0rwr4th's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Yes agree! my vehicle damaged itself badly by traversing a building (crashing and scrapping along every wall) also when firing the AI keeps driving and changing directions making aiming very difficult, still completed the mission and I'd expect the driver ran home to mummy after all the verbal abuse I hurled at him :-) David -
1.56 did not fix performance issues *help*
djmorgan replied to Orvis25's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
LOL you don't know that much about computers do you? every time ArmA or any other program for that matter runs, files are swapped and replaced in different locations on the harddrive. You come here looking for help and suggestions and then either ignore them or give an excuse why it is not applicable to you. Sorry but a person can't be helped if they don't want to be helped. djmorgan replied to Orvis25's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Sure, read your post, you blamed the program! if it was the program then many others would be complaining about 6 FPS! they are not.... so you must continue with your trouble shooting as you have not found the cause of your problems yet, the first step to fixing the problem is to acknowledge that it is not the program and look to your computer set up and the available resources and how they are being used. start by running your computer and ArmA with a minimal configuration ie. drop off as many services and startup programs as you can, see if the problem is still there, then add back those you stopped one at a time, then look to the video drivers, compare your results with other benchmarking tools, as your running ATI and me nVidia can't help you, but I assume things like 3Dmark etc are applicable for your system. Anyway I'm sure you get the picture David. -

djmorgan replied to Orvis25's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Well you really need to do some trouble shooting, because if it was the game then everybody would be crying bloody blue murder at 6fps. I have never seen figures that low, I'm not an fps watcher as I bought ArmA to play not bench test, but on the 3 benchmarks supplied the lowest I get (dusk encounter) is 25fps the highest ArmA II BM is 48 fps, that's with all set very high and distance to 5000m, except AA which I handle with SLI. Using vid memory is a good thing! using all the pc's resources is a good thing, make the game run faster and BIS designed it to use the resources as presented, that's why you can vary cpu/threads etc. My cards have 1Gb memory each and when ArmA is running hard that will drop to about 160 mb of free memory, not a bad thing at all Personally I have and never have had any issues running ArmA, you don't mention what the fps drops to or what particular rendering issues you have so perhaps if you elaborate somebody may be able to help you, just remember this is a simulation not a FPS. Dropped steam in favour of Sprocket BUT!
djmorgan replied to djmorgan's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Okay! you've convinced me nothing on tele tonight anyway :D David -
I have just un-installed from steam and purchased ArmA2 CO from Sprocket plus BAF. (more money for BIS) So I installed arma2 and made sure it ran, then arma2 oa and it runs fine, then baf and everything ok. I did not get a combined ops icon and then read arma2 needs to be at least 1.06, sprocket version is 1.05 so I ran the 1.55 patch and oa and baf got updated but not arma2!. I then tried to apply the 1.05 to 1.07 patch on arma2 and received "'Arma 2 is not installed on your computer or installation is corrupted." I re-installed arma2 but still the same thing Both arma2 and arma2 oa are in seperate folders, both run fine arma2 is still 1.05 and oa is 1.55. I have googled to try and find and answer but no luck Any help please. David

Dropped steam in favour of Sprocket BUT!
djmorgan replied to djmorgan's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Well thanks!, I'll do that when I have a couple of hours to spare! I don't think I'm going to miss anything by having arma2 at 1.07  David -

djmorgan replied to djmorgan's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Didn't think of it at the time, but can re-install now I'm not with steam. But I did find the solution, the registry for arma2 did not show the string value MAIN and location, once I fixed that the patch is working as I type Well the patch worked and now at 1.07 but running the 1.55 patch again misses updating arma2 to 1.08! any thoughts? I can get combined ops running using DWardens 'cmd' fix David -
The beta works well for me W7 X64, I have 1 question however that I feel silly for asking but has bugged me ever since I got ARMA. A small dialogue opens just before the program starts with a number of boxes with ticks in them! prior to this beta all but 1 box got a tick, now 2 boxes don't get a tick but there is no visable difference when running the program, so what do these boxes represent? David

Found a possible solution, if I play as combined operations I don't get any no entry messages.

Here is my rpt file, deleted original ran OA once and got a 100kb rpt file, edited here for size but sure you'll get the point.
