Lol, watchout metal, the fanboy mods are looking to ban anyone who tells the truth about what is going on. But yeah, this game is turning into a disaster. It doesn't feel like Arma anymore. Like you just pointed out, its worse than vanilla Arma 2. The only thing I see positive so far is that the infantry movement is less clunky now. We expected better. Not worse. It feels to me like they are trying to make Arma more "COD" like, but they are failing miserably. Not to mention this ANCIENT engine is bringing ULTRA level PC's to their knees. 780's with high end i7 CPU's getting 10 - 15 FPS in MP. Thats ridiculous! I just don't know what to say anymore. Time to start looking for a new sim.

Well, from a few years experience in DCS:Shark and DCS:A-10C - if an IR is launched at you at low and close, your chances are slim. Flares do little to counter the new IIR seeker heads. I've read the SA-16 actually has two seeker elements now, one IIR and the other UV. Going in like Rambo just gets you killed. You need to stay high and bomb the shit out of the enemy before you go low. You only go low when the only thing left down there are trucks and APCs. Another thing to do is beam the missiles. Keep the missiles perpendicular to your aircraft and your speed high. With small missiles, you might get them to blow far enough behind you that the damage is minimal.

I'm sure your such an expert Phlux, how does the world keep going when your on break? And YEAH, the engine is 10 years old, and I hate break it to you, but engines are NOT designed to keep on going that long. This engine has OBVIOUSLY been stretched beyond its intended limits. That is why we are getting such lousy FPS, etc.

B. And this is why I want all this to go over to DCS, because that is exactly what they are doing. DLC Modules. You want a certain tank or plane, you buy it. And its as real as it gets. Voted yes. While the models aren't bad, there are just a few of them, and as one other thread pointed out, both sides have the same models with basically just different paint schemes. For a final game, its a train wreck. At least bringing in the A2 vehicles will give it some support.

I knew BIS was bad in the past, but this is extreme. I wonder if this is the end of Arma. Like Crytek, it looks like they're bailing. As you can see on Crytek's forums, this is exactly what they did. Now after a few lame patches, they've quietly left out the back door. Very, very disappointed.

Like Arma 2, the hud is a joke. Basically you have left, right, pitch dive, fire button. Just like the vehicles. And the fire button. That's all the "sim" there is in this game. I was REALLY hoping they would actually TRY to put in CCRP / CCIP, laser guided missles, and realistic huds into the game. At least nearing the Level of DCS: Flaming Cliffs, which is pretty much a game. They did nothing.

Well, lets see. We now have nothing but a few Sci-Fi gimmicks. Your flight sim sure didn't change. It still sucks. And now, instead of pretty Russian countryside, we get the Greek wasteland. Oh yeah, and we also get the TKing 12 year olds who have flooded all the servers because of DayZ and Wasteland. Seems a lot worse than Arma 2 to me. Not willing to wait many more years for salvage ( by then it really will be ANCIENT. ) And has anyone heard from ACE of late? Last post I see on their boards is TWO YEARS AGO. Then I hear rumors half the team has jumped ship for greener pastures.
