    Arma 3 - Pre-E3 Livestream Hangouts

cheers I'm a huge Arma fan and I bought the Alpha on day one - don't get me wrong - just with current proposed Beta features - it doesn't sound like a real beta to me :( more an 'Appetiser' - its not like the content isn't there - we can see it being played ...

    Arma 3 - Pre-E3 Livestream Hangouts

did I hear correctly in the live stream "no tanks" in the beta ? or was he not talking about tanks as in vehicles ? normally a beta is near to the complete game but in "beta" to test for bugs ? Alpha I would expect to be cut down and work in progress
  3. thanks Leon - 700W Tagan (maybe 750 can't remember) - should be ok :) used to run a 3870x2 on it anyway
  4. for same price 560TI or 480GTX please ? They seeem roughly on par normal games/benchmarks wise (480 slightly ahead) - but wondering whether the extra grunt of the 480 is worth it in Arma 2 (1900x gaming) - given that its hotter, uses more power etc 480 is slightly cheaper than the 560
  5. daft question, but I have a 4890 and a Q6600 @ 3.5 I have PP set to normal, and without AA applied it looks very nice, sharp, a few jaggies though (running at 1900x1200 resolution) but when I apply Antialiasing, either low, or normal or any setting for that matter, the whole picture becomes very blurred, not smoothed AA blurred, just blurred - looks terrible any ideas ?
  6. on further testing it seems to be Post Processing that really hammers the frame rates, if I disable it completely - then put all other settings (aprt from resolution = 1900) at very high (FSAA at normal, and Antiost Very High) - I almost get a locked 60fps ! unheard of for me in this game, and its much much smoother why does post processing have such a frame rate hit ?
  7. mmm - increased settings somewhat - ran Benchmark 35 fps with CPU @ 3.56 gig, RAM @ 780 CAS4 then rebooted : 45 fps with CPU @ 3.35 gig, RAM @ 1100 CAS5 RAM speed seems to improve frame rates
  8. RGS - mines the same - its just not smooth ... Benchmark (OA one) - was 44 fps - but its really laggy :(

    ARMA 2: 1.07 Patch Released!!!

have to say that 1.07 is running smoother on my machine though :) - so thats a good plus to the team mind you I have upgraded to a SSD drive recently - so perhaps that is helping too cheers, Buckster

    ARMA 2: 1.07 Patch Released!!!

mmm I just "ejected" from a UAV ? is that meant to be possible ?
  11. what an unfriendly reply ! nice to see the community in full action again !
  12. to be fair Fox the game has been patched quite a bit - so I sort of agree biggest upgrade for them to do would be to sort the engine out - microstutters etc really spoil the realism forme - so hoping that will be partially fixed in Arrowhead, I don't have an I7 - but do have a heavily overclocked Q6600, and lots of RAM - installing a SSD today though so that may improve Arma :)
  13. was looking forward to this release as an Arma (all varients) fan - but a bit disappointed to read its a standalone addon and not an expansion - so those of us that are already Arma 2 owners - get no discount whatsover ? do we assume Arma 2 original will still be supported with regards to patches ?
  14. nice joke ... :) I nearly uninstalled and wiped all downloaded versions of it that said ... I'd only just installed today the Beta 1 :( ! lol
