    Still playing ArmA2 and plan to for at least a six months if not a year after ArmA3's full release due to the fact, I can't run it! Happy to hear you haven't jumped ship like other modders that wanna get started on ArmA3 and leaving some things unfinished or fixed.

    I have a random and out of the blue question that's been nagging at the back of my head every time I see the item in a box and and haunted by it for hours as I try to figure out how to use it. So without anymore delay, what is ACE_MineMarker_Light (Or Flashlight in Gear) used for and how is it used in ACE2? I've tried various things that I can think of before loosing my mind.

    A good test is to carry 1 bandage and have the 'Subject' carry 0 and wound him. See if you have unlimited after that? Because ACE Wounds uses the wounded soldier's bandages before using the medic's. The only time it starts to use the medics is if the wounded soldier doesn't have any on them.

  8. It really wasn't made with ACE2 in mind, nor were the vehicles and weapons made with it in mind. But from past experience it works 'okay'. Might hiccup here and there. But it certainly isn't 100% compatible. Hope this helps?
  9. Hey Meatball, not sure if this has been asked/brought up but would it be possible to switch out the 'Time bomb' given to the units in rucks switched to 'Pipe bomb' or pipebomb? Since (At least from what I've noticed) the 'Time bomb' version of satchel doesn't detonate (Or if they do it takes forever). Also, would it be possible to have empty versions of the rucks you provide with your units for the possibility of editing the ruck's load out ourselves to fit missions? I understand I can use BI versions but they don't have the capacity your rucks have. And by that I mean just the classnames of empty versions in the readme. Sorry if they've been asked and answered before. Just haven't been around recently and I didn't notice them if they have been. Thanks for taking the time to read this how ever the answer is.

    I just had a thought about something... about the 'Not being able to access other's rucksack'. Is the other player's rucksack unlocked for everyone or only Team/Squad? If I remember ACE had it so you can lock out your ruck to other players outside your squad/etc. Could this be the problem? Unless they removed it that is... I don't know if AI's rucks are locked when they're outside your own squad or not. But, could that be the cause? Ignore my post if it has already been tested that way or I missed something in a prior post.

    LPD-29: San Antonio Class

    It does sound like the un-even terrain underwater that seems to be causing it. Try to place the LPD in a place where the blue water lies that curve (Indicating the terrain under the waves) where none cross the location the LPD will spawn, and it'll be fine. But if you were to say, put the ship closer to shore where the terrain has more valleys and rifts due to the beaches, the LPD will spawn awkwardly. That is, if I recall correctly.

  14. So I'm not crazy. Thank you XD Now as to what my point was, it would improve immersion imo to add the factor. So when you patrol villages, you can't even trust the women you see as they may pull a gun as much as anyone else. But that's just me
  15. I forget, were females ever in the VC units in the war? I want to say yes at recalling a picture... maybe for more remote 'sections' of VC in the hills where men in the villages weren't enough... or I'm just crazy and am thinking out my ass being tired XD

    Before it -used- to always go into a ruck on the ground that you can load into the Vehicle Cargo area. If there isn't a bag showing up on the ground outside the aircraft, then it is a bug. But if there is a bag appearing on the outside of the aircraft with your gear in it, then it isn't. And making a comment about breaking Newton's Laws regarding gear vanishing XP Can argue 'Why would you take a launcher as a pilot of aircraft when it isn't SoP' XD (Not trying to argue, just trying to make a goofy joke lol)

    @maturin, have you looked around on the ground for a bag with your name on it? That's where gear tends to go, in a ruck someplace near the aircraft. If I recall, it's to promote teamplay. I can say I love it, it's lowered the number of people who take a good combat aircraft, fly it to the AO and bale out and run solo without providing the least bit support or care (Even if the server limits vehicles/aircraft.) I don't deny an option to disable that, but I feel those who tend to load up on heavy machine guns and rocket launchers who jump in a tank/aircraft could offer or request an option to disable it instead of raging for it to be removed lol

    In my opinion, if ArmA3 would be rated 'T' it wouldn't feel at all like a mil-sim and it would be more of a 'Get this objective done to beat the mission' kind of game (Like how the old Army Men Toy Soldiers games used to be). It's the more dark, cruel and even ugly things that war brings (Mass graves, murder, assault against civilians, loss of a friend in combat, etc) that gives the game campaigns and missions more relation to real life. More so since in ArmA3, you'll be playing a soldier on the ground where you see the ugly side of war beyond 'Get Objective A done then more to extraction zone C' and see the impact it has on a population and people. In my opinion, ArmA3 should retain it's rating as M to make it known that war is not a game and is an ugly thing. When I think about making ArmA3 T rating, I think about the removal of all the strong story points such as mass graves or other mentally or emotionally scarring plot points that make a campaign. And with that, would tell children (If it was T rating, 13 year old kids will buy it. And yes, they're still children imo) that war isn't horrifying and bad. That you can run around with the only possible threat to you is the enemy with a gun, which it isn't. I remember back when shooters used to be 'T'. They were -very- bland and had -zero- story. They were simple 'Defeat the enemy' games where there was no blood, there was no dialogue between the player and his team (If there was one) and the enemy. It was dull, and you never felt like you were the character, you never were pulled into the game. You felt like you were playing a game, shooting stupid computer generated AI that had the same routines. Now, what I think about the ArmA series, I think about how it brings the more deeper, emotional side of the people and populace of where you're fighting. The story points (May they be how ever dark and gruesome) make you feel the impact of what is happening in the campaign/mission and with the ability to 'Play the role' of your character and that the characters actually display their emotion and opinion about what is happening, you feel that you're not playing a 'Game' but are living the characters life during their combat action tour. You are shown a more realistic side to the war beyond 'Capture point A' and such as older games used to be, and in turn, showing a more mature view of such a bad thing. If you look back at T-Shooters, most were more of an Arcade-like style where all it was that you had to defeat the enemy to progress. Now, as the idea of strong, controversial plot points (Like going into an airport and starting to shoot civilians/Murder or sexual assault on people) the standard for shooters changed to show a more human and emotional side that most would deem as 'Mature' content that (Most) children can't handle. Take away the factors that make modern Shooters 'M' rated, you get a bland game that is just running and gunning. (The way 90% of shooters used to be about) And, sorry for typing so much and possibly repeating things but I was tired typing this up and couldn't hold by my view. If need I can clear up something if it's confusing x.x

    You're picking up the Raven, and packing it into the backpack? Are you dropping the rucksack (Using the left arrow or I think there's a 'Drop' button in gear selection. I forget) because you can't 'Unpack' the raven while you're still wearing the ruck.
  24. Operation Arrowhead Standalone doesn't have many more M4A1s then the one without all the attachments. You'll need to either DL addons or buy ArmA2 to add more variants. :/ From the M4 you described in your post, it sounds like you're talking about the M4A1 that comes in the ACE2 addon.

    CBA_A2 and CBA_OA are required if you run CO. If you look over at the CBA release thread, it explains the reasons better then I could here.
