STEAM really has fucked every thing arma 2 use to stand for :( Like this awesome mission. Even creating a dedi server used to be easy now its crap. I managed to get a server going I join this MSO mission and get script errors about houses etc and get kicked right back to the bloody roll select screen. STEAM YOUR SHIT patch 1.63 has killed arma 2 I wish I never tied my retail copys to steam now :(

I cant even get it to work full stop. I keep getting description.ext errors as soon as I create a server. Even if I use a mission that does not kick that eror no AI spawn to shoot at :(

OK I have finally got it to load the server with mods and as combined ops I think with out it kicking up errors using the arma2_OA server exe buuutttt :( When i load arma 2 oa using steam it says its all ready running I mean please help me here :( ---------- Post added 11-24-2014 at 12:01 AM ---------- Previous post was 11-23-2014 at 11:34 PM ---------- Ok more info I installed the arma 2 server exe using steam tools it just places a binery in arma 2 oa If I DONT use this tool and start the server and then use steam to start arma 2 oa its fine. Its only when I use this tool and point it to the oa server exe and then start arma 2 oa via steam it says the programme is all ready running that sucks. I used to use this tool all the time now its STEAM has messed every thing up ~:(

Hey all long time now see :) Ive just getting back into arma 2. I have all retail copys of arma 2,arrow head,baf etc etc but I have just registered them on steam whice I think is where the problem stareted :( I have got it to show all the icons in the bottom left corner on game start so I know its running in combined ops though there is no icon for it whice sucks. God damn it I have been away for a long time thought what the hell lets see if BIS have actually done some thing.....I am a fool to think they would have actually fixed the one and only issue that actually matters. Listhen all this issue was all so in ARMA 2 they turned around and said "IT CANT BE FIXED DUE TO ENGINE LIMITATIONS" So yeah seems we aint gonna get no improvements on this. Oh well they built a house on unstable foundation and it WILL FALL.

I disagree that we should put up with the terrible performance or leave the game. We was told there was a blog coming I aint seen it. We had the same issue in arma2 and now the same in arma3 so I think thats the worst part tbh.they openly admitted they could not fix it for arma2 due to engine limitations so why put arma3 on the same bloody engine and slap a load more stuff to it for the engine to try and do? it could not cope well in arma2 let alone with all the stuff they have slaped to it now for arma3. BIS have really gone down hill since DayZ they will loose a load of dedicated fans whice have been with them since OFP. I am gutted more than any thing I really thought BIS would be loyal to there fans but seems the popularity of DayZ has got to there heads and there heading down the same road as all the other game devs. Payed for DLC Not fixing the main issues that have got the most votes. Just gutted really I loved OFP and arma but I cant even play it and yet they keep adding more stuff to the engine whice would be good if we could actually use the bloody thing other that in slide show mode. yeah thats what I meant sorry devs have popped in to say hi but other than that there short visit was pointless. I agree with all these stupid pointless fixes eg Fix Font Change colour Blah Blah Blah Whats the point?. I know people say its done by different people well if thats the case get more people in to fix the main issue I mean come on. This is the way BIS are going tbh as they really dont seem to care about waht the dedicated arma fans want some of us followed them from OFP days (me included) but we seem to have been shoved aside while they make money on DayZ and now payed for DLC :( there turning into just another game dev. I know they need to make money but they wont if they dont fix this performance problem because people wont trust them. I never had any thing bad to say about BIS but they really do seem to have changed and just want to do what they want...ok thats kind of fair but people have a right to get this fixed and we keep being promised of a blog or a fix but it never comes and no dev even bothers to mention it in this thread just pop in say hello and good bye :(

I use to swear by BIS being the best game devs ever. I kind of forgave them for this issue in arma 2 due to multi core cpus being new etc etc. But there is no reason releasing arma 3 in the same crappy state and not one comment from a DEV here :(. Like I said I was a BIS fan since OFP so to speak but arma 3 is one huge let down and it will not be fixed because they said they could not do that for arma 2 due to engine limitations. GUTTED tbh it seems the loyal arma fans have been kicked in the nuts to make way for DayZ or more likely they shoved arma 3 out the door just to fund DayZ :(

Well its been a long time since I reported back here looks like nothing has changed :( What a joke

It is because of my passion for ARMA series I wrote this. I have been a fan since OFP and I have supported BIS from the start. I have said they where the best devs ever I am just disappointing that arma3 runs terrible for most due to poor optimization that has been proven and now acknowledged on the latest road map I see (has optimization on the list). It hurts me to not be able to play the one sim I all ways play but now I cant and nor can many of my friends. I would love nothing more than BIS to turn around and actually fix this problem and prove me wrong I would bow down to them and worship them once more BUT......I dont think they will nor can Back in ARMA 2 days it as a known problem that the engine was under utilizing the system resources there for making no use of high end computers this went on for a few monthes before a DEV finally admitted they could not fix it due to engine limitations I feel this is the same problem for ARMA 3 as it is based around the same engine. SO Dont get mad at me for getting mad and passionate over some thing I have lost ARMA and BIS where like family to me but I have lost interest due to lack of feedback from the coders and the DEV blog on optimization that never came to light. This is ARMA 2 all over again and we will never see any thing but more DLC and other stuff bolted to the all ready struggling engine BIS PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG PLEASE :(

I think they should sort the engine out and optimize it before releasing any more stuff this is getting stupid now. Its been a long time and the game still runs like pooh even on high end computers its a shame BIS use to be the best but I think ARMA3 will never be fixed at this rate they completely ignore us and its not just me there are so many people with poor performance on high end rigs etc mad :(

i agree BIS keep fixing things that should not be a priority at this time. As I have said before Why build a house on unstable foundation when the house will inevitably fall down sooner or later. BIS has been aware of this problem since ARMA2 and yet release ARMA3 with the same issue but this time strapped more stuff on to the engine which struggled before hand :(

Yep BIS have totally forgot about the people that made this game successful all they care about now is DayZ. Im very pissed I to have supported this series since OFP days damn when the OFP demo was released I played it none stop for days. Arma 1 and 2 where really good Arma 3 would be if we could actually play the bloody thing other than is slide show mode. Ive uninstalled Arma 3 im getting pissed of checking the dev builds to only find they have fixed stupid problems like Corrected Font color Added texture I mean WTF BIS we dont give a shit nor do I care about the campaign sort the engine out so we can actually play it first. well u lasted longer than me any way I uninstalled arma 3 ages ago. as said most voted problem and they ignore us where is this performance blog we was told about. this is arma 2 all over again but much worse if you lot hink it will be fixed it wont i know for sure because this happened in arma 2 they said they could not fix it due to engine limitations. Its nice how we get devs in here to answer us on this matter......oh wait we dont there ignoring it because they have no idea what to do to fix it :(

yep read back through some of my comments in this thread u will see i have stated same stuff fixed font error realigned this replaced texture added this or that I mean WTF BIS why add all this when no muppet can even enjoy it. So its clear this will and cant be fixed other wise they would be in this very thread reassuring us fact is this is ARMA2 all over again engine limitations and it cant and wont ever be fixed.

Agreed BIS had same problem with arma2 and they finally admitted they could not fix it due to engine limitations arma3 is arma2 with lots of stuff strapped on which in turn kills FPS even more. :(

if they dont fix the terrible performance of this game nothing else really matters any way.

As I said we have had zero info from devs on this issue so its not fixable other wise it would have been by now or at least would have heard feedback on progress etc. BIS this is disgusting I once see you as the best game DEV`s ever but tbh arma 3 seems to be just a cash cow. This is bloody arma 2 all over again but 10000% worse

yeah opendome every one has this issue. i cant believe bis aint replying in this thread to reassure us that they will or are looking into it they seem to be ignoring us completely which makes me think they have no idea how to fix this problem. :(

amra 3 will never be fixed arma 2 had the same issue we could kind of forgive them for that because multicore cpu`s where not mega main stream untill towards the end of arma2`s life. we all complained and took a few months but a dev said we cant fix this due to engine limitations. now arma3 comes out practically on same bloody engine and guess what same issue but 10x worse. how can they fix it when they could not for arma2 its the same engine bis i am really disappointed we aint getting no feedback from you just ignoring us. uninstall arma3 and move on. prove me wrong bis please for the love of god prove me wrong

Yeah I understand it would take time but why release such an unoptimized pile of pooh :(
