Man I want one of these badly http://www.virtual3dgun.com/index_en.html I am not sure if they will sell it to civilians but I know they work with BI to integrate it with VBS3. Definitely it will work with ARMA3 and oculus. Can we all start emailing them & they may provide more info including a price. I asked them if its possible to buy the gun only, no headset or backpack. The CEO emailed me back & while they are presently focused on military applications they would like to release to the civilian market He said it does work with ARMA and will work with oculus also He said they may do a kickstarter - I think they need to determine the market size -

Yeah I really am only interested in the gun as oculus, trackIR etc can do the rest Its surprising there are only two realistic gun controllers in the whole world -

Hey guys I dont know much about wine but followed instructions to setup Arma2 on playonlinux with wine I cant get past the loader as it doesnt recognize the mouse But just found this link http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=6107;forum=1;msg=127264 this is a recent thread & looks like the solution - I didnt try it yet coz I dunno WTH I am doing -

What weapons/vehicles would you like to see in ArmA 3?

Rather than doing the scifi guff I wish they had simply built out more accurate depictions of real military forces. They could have done the PLA - Nth korea etc. Also I would like a true cold war version of the game - ekranoplans etc I would like just for fun a james bond mod complete with doctor evil island and space shuttle launch pad. I would like a fully functional modern city like we see in take on helicopters but with passenger trains, cars people etc and at least 3-4 full interior skyscrapers. I would like them to add full reality air combat like freefalcon game Bigger land region - whole nations and worlds Just no more scifi dudes -

I installed from the archive on armaholic it wont run with this addon my ARMA2 crashes immediately If I disable the island it is normal again -

I would say 1:4 mods I install do not show in the editor drop down lists so I can not use them. This totally pisses me off. Most mods don't even document where in the editor drop down to find them anyway. This should be a standard practice. So with all of these useless mods what do I do - how do I figure out how to use them in the editor. Mods that I cant find in the drop down (hence can't use) ... AN 225 MI 26 Australians at war Black ops & mercs Etc etc - there are many more. I'm sure I'm not the only person with this problem and yes I do use mod folders & no I am not contacting the author of all the non findable mods - most reply with gibberish anyway.:eek: -

Just press escape & hold the game for a few second or minutes - all the LOD's will load. Then resume the game. Big deal, you honestly never saw this before ? -
Manhatten Walkthrough (Spoilers Obviously)

I'm nearing the end of Manhattan now. I thought the big tent near the larger sentry zone was main camp - but no mine is near the dam. I have no artillery. There are friendly units doing random patrols in the area but no full onslaught. Six tanks were patrolling within range of the enemy base and could have wiped it out - but they did nothing. So I have determined my only effective weapon is the gun on starforce. I will do strafing runs between FOB and the high hill past the dam. I did one so far but have not yet assessed the damage. I'll do as many of these as the game lets me - saving between each. Then I will go in with an LAV. I have not found Manhattan difficult but did cheat by coming here to find the final two sentry posts and main camp. UPDATE: I blew up the enemy base using the LAV parked on the high hill past the dam. Easy slaughter with no resistance - chopper would not reload so couldn't strafe them Just park the LAV on the hill & blast away - have the amphibious as backup to roll in and finish them off. But the leader escaped and I have no evidence either - so for me the game is not yet over. UPDATE 2: It got to nightfall so I stuck the game on x4 and went out - while my guys hid over night. Now its 6am day two. Nitikin is on the run and shaftoe is dead. All else is complete. Shall I hunt Nitikin or just end mission ? -

I used a hummer with machine gun Drove to Whatsherface 'Daki sympathizer's home town. The arms smugglers were there in a white pickup which my gunner blew up. The beewitch was not there so I drove to the airstrip near her boyfriends home town. By chance there she was walking along the road at about 12:15 I got her in the hummer and drove to FOB stuck her in the chopper and dropped her at the suggested rendezvous. A Hind came and picked her up all without enemy contact. The rendezvous is not far from enemy officers tent near the forest but I blew that up earlier with artillery. I think the main camander was in that camp as I now can not finish the manhattan - I think I blew the main NAPA officer up & it says you mus ID before killing him. It also says I have not found all the sentry points but I have cleared the red zones. -

I used to be in the army infantry and often did counter terrorism training with the special forces. They would use us as terrorists or hostages. On each exercise there would be a scenario that the spec ops were practicing for. Often there would be large numbers of spec ops on an exercise. Anything from 50 - 100. Plus all of us grunts. But when it came to the assault there would be 10 - 20 directly assaulting the terrorists - usually attacking at dawn around 5 am. Example scenarios: *30 Hostages held in abandoned apartments by 10 - 15 terrorists Siege 24 hours, assault at dawn through windows, chopper on roof, two teams rappelling and busting windows / doors. *15 hostages, 5 terrorists on bus escaping scene - vehicle (truck) blocks bus assault on bus CQB as required. * Terrorists martial hostages from building Spec Op Sniper takes out as many targets as possible (fuck those mothers are loud). Spec Op Teams move in & capture or kill as required. Hostages secured. * Terrorists hold hostages in large abandoned factory or similar. Siege of 2 - 5 days. Assault at dawn. Choppers on roof, explosives on doors, CQB with terrorists. Two to three Spec Ops teams in assault. Hostages secured. Grunts come through after to clean the location. The bus & the factory were my favorite. They also used to do an escape and evasion exercise in the bush which i didn't get to do. Basically 50 grunts hunting down a spec op patrol. Spec ops liked to use army choppers and civilian 4WD. Enemy just whatever they commandeered for martialing hostages Anyway somebody should make the counter terrorism scenarios. -

A random map & terrain generator This would rock - so you just pick desert, woodland, urban etc and it random generates the maps and full terrain. How feasible is this ?
