Derdoe's How to make an airplane land and take-off
derdoe posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Hello, this is a short tutorial how to make a loop that makes airplanes land and take-off again using waypoints. This example is made for IceBreakr's excellent Isla Duala 1.95. http://www10.pic-upload.de/05.02.12/v6llgk8ybqg.jpg (166 kB) First of all, place a plane of your choice, in my example the C-130J. Name the plane and use the name later. In my case the name is C130. Place Waypoints with the settings mentioned in the Image. Add to waypoint 0 the script line: c130 landAt 1; More information for the landAt command: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/landAt This method can also be used with more Airports. So the plane lands, takes off, flies to next airport, lands, takes off, flies to next airport and so on. You can also have one plane on ground and make it use the other planes waypoints with the CopyWaypoint command (http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/copyWaypoints). If an airport is not suitable for a certain plane, it will go around and land at the nearest suitable air field. If a plane does a loop before landing, you need to move the waypoint with the landAt command further away from the airport. This does not work for helicopters, at least i havent tested it. If you want to use Helicopters, use invisible Helipads and use http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/land. I hope this helps some people out :) *** Update 16th of July 2012 *** -
This is the AW159 Hellcat Army version: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/AgustaWestland_AW159#/media/File:ZZ405_%288071796088%29.jpg However, the WY-55 Hellcat in Arma doesnt use wheels but skids. Super Lynx is seen in pictures 2 posts above.

Weaponrest, get it in even if AI cant use it
derdoe replied to krazikilla's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Well if BIS doesnt want to implement it, they can just say it. I am quite sure a lot of people would appreciate an official statement why it will not be implemented. Until then, you ll have to expect more threads of this kind, i think the feedback tracker speaks for itself how many people are keen on having this feature ingame. I mean 2400 people have upvoted this on the feedback tracker so i think its not too much to ask to get an explanation. -
Well its very unfortunate that still no BIS employee has posted on this thread. I remember a long list of "confirmed" features and it was a shame to see this list of "confirmed" feature to grow into a "what we will never see in Arma 3"-list. Feature after feature was axed and now they are just ignoring the wishes of the community, some features on the feedback tracker have thousands more votes than any of the stuff that is being implemented.
-
I can only agree that there seems to be a mismatch between the things that are being developed by BIS and the things that the community is - in some cases at least - asking for since Arma 1 and i think it is finally time to address those things. And i do not think that the most voted up feature requests on the feedback tracker are demanding things that are too hard to implement or too much effort to achieve. So please, please, please BIS: Use the feedback tracker and implement the things that we - the players - are waiting for so long! Thanks! :)

Please post all Physx_86.dll related issues here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?150907-PhysX3_x86-dll-Crash&p=2548727#post2548727

Hello, i still have every 20-30 mins game crashes because of Physx_86.dll, i really urge BIS to finally address the problem. Its known since March apparently.... Please please please, BIS: Fix that problem! Update: Just received a new error in my RPT after a random game crash, linked to physx aswell?
-
Hello, i am also having problems with this, after the announced hotfix for PhysX its crashing for me more than ever! Dump:
-
Content wise the community should not really be disappointed except for missing transport and fighter aircraft. But BIS normally was providing the sandbox environment that we need to play around, and the community steps in by creating addons. So in my eyes i can only say, well done BIS for an awesome implementation of PhysX, the awesome underwater world and 2 great islands to drive around!

Hello, i wished that especially the bigger new houses (Hospital, Office building etc...) were fully enterable. I can understand if you fear that too much interiors would degrade performance but in the office building at least 2 office rooms that are enterable would be nice. For the hospital you could make an internal staircase up to the roof and on one floor you can actually enter the patient wing with the patient rooms. I would be so gratefull if that happens :) Good job on the island itself so far :)

What i would love to see in DayZ is that if you are wearing a motor helmet, you cannot drink or eat unless you take off the helmet. Sounds stupid but i think it would increase gameplay to be honest.

detroiturbex.com - covers a lot of buildings like hospitals, churches, police and fire stations, recreation centers and a lot more. I am sure it will help you. :) Nice work btw :) -
Hi there, seems pretty straight forward what you are doing so far. I would recommend to maybe add your links separately so its more convenient to find them. Keep the good work up!

Hello fellow community members, i hope everyone is having a good time playing around in the Alpha and testing it out. Many of you will encounter issues that they think are wrong and they want BIS to fix. For exactly that reason, there is a feedback tracker at feedback.arma3.com. Now before you start reporting bugs, glitches and missing features, please take a second to read this: The feedback tracker has a voting system. That means you can vote UP or DOWN to give an indication if the reported problem is that important in your oppinion that the dev team should take care of it. This only works however if you do not open several tickets for one and the same problem. We as the playerbase give the dev team a much better look at the real big problems in the game if we vote on tickets. So please take the time and search on the feedback tracker if someone has reported a similar problem and vote on the ticket instead of reporting a known problem twice or 3 times. The voting results give an indication how serious an issue is for the player base and the devs have an easier time finding out what tickets must be dealt with priority. If you have done the above steps and havent found your problem in one of the tickets, report your ticket and select the proper priority: Immediate: game crashes to desktop High: reproducable game freezes, e.g. trying to pick a certain item up and it happens everytime you try that Normal: AI not reacting on enemy players Minor: Sitting position of co-driver is wrong, everyone in car appears in dead animation For better results with the search, please add tags to your ticket to make it easier to find similar tickets. More information on how to use the feedback tracker you can find here. So please please please: use the search function, skip through reports others have made and vote!

ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

More clothing for civilians would be nice, also some nice additional civ cars and air vehicles :) E.g. Eurocopter 135, some Volkswagens etc. -
Why Do You Think Bohemia Interactive Is Holding Back?
derdoe replied to Leaulux's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I think several reasons: a) to keep the playerbase motivated by adding new vehicles and units from time to time b) protection against piracy so people cant steal the full content of the game until some copy protection arrives c) quality control -
The sheer amount of duplicates is unbelieveable! I wish people start finally looking if their issue was reported yet. Also people reporting wrong animations with priority Immediate ... :q:

Purchases from the Steam store don't include 3 Alpha giveaway keys?
derdoe replied to Delicieuxz's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I dont know if people are not able to use the search function or if they are simply too lazy: :q: It was announced at least 100 times: Alpha Lite invite keys are given out on March 14th! -
Thanks! Adding that link to the OP.

Battleye in Arma 2 has customizable options but many server owners dont know how to use those tools properly. So its not only Battleye's or BIS' responsibility but also the responsibility of server owners and/or mission makers to provide a good set of customized BE rules. Also keep in mind that Arma is one of the most - if not the most - open and accessible games for modding. And that comes along with several trade-offs and disadvantages. I for myself rather want mods and custom addons and experience the occasional hacker instead of having no mods but also no hacking.
-
I have added tags to one of my tickets and its working. Also added your suggestion about the tags to the OP, thanks for your feedback!
