Well i dont agree, i still believe that the younger audience think that a cover with tons of action/explosions is cool while the older audience wants less but then again they often already know what they want. Personally i couldn't care less, probably because i never go to a store looking for games to buy, but to pick up a title i know i want. But yes with so many potential buyers there's most likely some there's lost due to the cover, but if the cover was made to suit them then it would lose some other potential buyers. My point is that there will always be somebody that don't like something about it, that be the cover, the sounds or the vehicles or..... :)
  2. Roger that :) Will i have experienced on patch 1.05 that after respawn you are not synced to the FA modules but now with new test it works! I have no idea what caused the problem in the first place, maybe a mod i had loaded. The setcaptive issue after respawn i have not experienced on 1.05!

When i go into a store to buy a game i don't look on the shelves for a good looking cover, i'm looking for a title which i have decided to buy :) I think the age is playing a big part on this, the older audience really don't care about the cover while the younger are looking for a cool cover and then takes it up and start read the back of it... dunno maybe?

  6. My point is that i have not experienced that, but if you have it could be because you didn't resync... or because it was several patches ago you experienced it, only you can tell that :)

    I think it's the "auto danger/combat" issue your experiencing, it was introduced by a beta patch right before the final 1.05 release. When AI knows about the enemy they automatically goes into danger mode and is very hard to order around! Dunno if it has been fixed in the latest beta, try it!

    True, i think the title should have been "Why is ArmA 2's MP part not more popular". I'm sure there's a lot of people playing ArmA 2 single player and many of them probably never even visit these forums.

  10. When i made the resync example i died, respawned, resync'ed modules, got injured and went on ground in agony, got healed by AI and then i walked alone towards some AI enemy which immidiately shot me! Maybe it worked because i resync'ed the modules?
  11. ACE is more less ArmA 2, most servers has it running anway! Try the SLX mod, it have some animation improvements you might like.

    You need to sign up first, then you'll see a green UP arrow next to the green number which is +votes... click that arrow. Done :)
  13. I just tested with vanilla arma 1.05 and yes it works after respawn without resync but the AI refused to heal just stood next to me. It also worked with ACE which is weird because i swear it didnt work last time i tried which is why i made the resync example. With ACE the AI did heal me though :) I dunno about that captive state, when you lay on ground in agony you can press your movement keys and often(if not everytime) you can roll on your stomach and crawl slowly around and also empty the clip you got loaded! I often play with BIS first aid modules and it always seems like the enemy AI keeps firing at the downed players. Could be because of the reasons you stated of course :)
  14. Did you play vanilla 1.05 arma? Also try: Die, respawn, get injured so you go on ground and get that red flashing screen. I had ace and other stuff running when i played around with it so that could have been messing with it! AI keeps shooting at you so if your in the open under fire the chances are good you die :)

    I like the sounds

    I have been using CSM2 for a long time, also tried HiFi, ACE Sound Mod and Sound Of War. Funny thing is now that i again tried play with vanilla sounds(most of them, changed a few myself) they sounds really good :) Right now i'm using bullet cracks from CSM2 and my own custom sounds for the M249 and the M4A1, the rest is vanilla but i'm gonna add custom sounds for grenades/explosions aswell.
  16. Without re-sync you cant revive/get revived after respawn! P.S. with the re-sync method i used the very first time i played around with it didn't work when doing it from a killed eventhandler, but i didn't test it with the method in the example so thats worth trying to make it look better!

  18. Select targets with the tabulator key, that will put a highlighted box over a alive target. Keep pressing the button to switch targets.

    Agree most vanilla sounds are very good, though explosions and bullet cracks need a little work :)

  21. If it could be made properly i wouldnt mind it, but it really ain't high on my list of things i would like fixed/changed! Not sure what you mean, but if the grass was rendered at further distances this forum would see tons of complains about performance(we already got enough). Grass growing on the street? Use ACE and the problem goes away! Search the forum and you'll notice other people mentioning this. The WarFX mod might have new gunflashes implentet eventually. Thats not true, there's some buildings/walls(not most) that the AI can "wallhack" at places.
  22. I voted no because: 1.) I can't see how to make a radial command menu with all the commands ArmA 2 has and still make it more functional then the current command system is. 2.) I like the current command system, with a bit of practice it's simple enough to use.
