Help! How do I surrender as a player? Like put my hands up and give up? I am playing opfor and I want to surrender to my friends if they capture me, so they can use the (excellent) capture feature. Please help! -

Playing around with the latest ACE3 and the Captives features, which are awesome. Heres my problem: I want to be the opfor unit that when the players yell "Freeze! hands up!" I can put my hands up, and be captured. How do I put my hands up and surrender though? Please help! -
Having a problem - When using the Remote Control feature while I am Zeus - to take over the driver of a vehicle, I cannot turn the headlights off and on. In fact Remote Controlling any bot on the map and getting into the car, "L" does not - the headlights stay off (or on, if forced on). When I jump in as the Zeus unit himself, its fine. But those under his control cannot. Please fix this! Means a Zeus controlled unit cannot get into a vehicle at night and then turn the lights on!

Just found this, awesome thread :) I would like to make a mission, just getting a feeling of what kind of mods people are using for them, ive had a bit of a look around and checked out a few (i only use Arma3) and would love to do one with RHS Russian troops in the Crimea or Ossetia etc, on one of my favorite european maps, Panthera. Problem is by the time youve downloaded RHS then AiA map pack thats 6 gigs (required for Panthera apparently) then youve got a massive download for anyone who wants to play it. Ive been out of the community for a while but it seems RHS and AiA are incredibly popular, but is it a bit much to assume everyones got them?... thanks! -
Just wondering why I cant select fire on weapons I know have select fire. Im using mods yes but even before that, I would hit F and scroll through the different options and see only, say "Semi" and "Grenade". But then randomly later on id be toggling through my weapons and "Auto" will come up suddenly, where I couldnt use it before, and then I can fire in full auto. Sometimes if I go off that fire mode and back to Semi I cant select Auto again, its not there... what.the.fuck. help?

Bloody good missino pingu, hadnt played it before and thouroughly enjoyed it. I knew we were in for an arse raping when I heard some of the boys go "never played it with this many people before...uh oh". So yes, the scaling certainly works lol ;) We took all sorts of mortar and arty fire, all while rushing to find and counter it with our own arty....was intense and hardcore! We got through alright in the end, but it most certainly requires teamwork, quick wits and a sharp eye. Feedback wise: - kept getting double (or triple) ups on mission objectives. We took one town only to have "Take town X" tasks come up like 3 or 4 times suddenly, all saying to take the same town we took. - People got slightly different tasks, not the same ones as others were getting, though I assume this is to do with the doubling up and glitching of the tasks as above? - Squad leader couldnt be revived. If I died I spawned immediately back at base. Apart from once, which confused me lol. - More MK19 hummers or maybe some TOW ones please! EDIT: Seems several people experienced revive/heal/spawn issues. Ive directed them to this thread to put down their specific problems, hope this helps mate Thats all I can think of now, its 3am lol so im gunna go crash. Any other feedback ill chuck your way. Thanks again for a badarse mission man. Whats "non ACE" mean? :P -

Is there a way to trigger SetCaptive off and on on a particular unit? Also can you apply SetCaptive to a vehicle so that only while inside the vehicle are the occupants safe from enemy fire, but as soon as they get out they are regular BLUFOR (I want to do some missions where players sneak in in civvie vehicles undetected and launch a surprise attack) Any other tips/tricks/hints re: SetCaptive would be appreciated -

I want some players to play as OPFOR insurgents whilst still being hostile to them so they get attacked, would this work? The idea being to have some players play insurgents that infilitrate an insurgent base then suddenly start gunning them down (I assume some kind of use of SetCaptive might be used as well?) -

Ive figured out animations all good, putting the anim name in the trigger etc BUT The default "hi there" greeting and salute of two OPFOR seeing each other overrides it. Theyll start doing their animation (or sometimes not start at all) and one or both (usually both) suddeny stop and salute each other and say "hey man" or something like that and its fuckin driving me insane!!! Ive done the "disableAI move" and disableAI "anim" commands, tried them both in the units init line and in the on activation for the trigger itself etc and to no avail, their stupid default greeting just supersedes the anim...driving me nuts, help please? -

What does ARMA 2 have that Operation Flashpoint 2 doesn't?

I'm really excited about Armed Assault 2 and Operation Flashpoint 2, they both look awesome. Problem is I'm only buying one, and one will probably be better than the other, so I have to choose. Why should I choose ArmA2 over Operation Flashpoint 2? What does it have that Flashpoint2 doesn't? Whats the difference between the two, I'm confused. Which ones the grittier, more realistic? Which one is more customizable? Which one has more weapons & vehicles etc etc Anyone know? Anyone wanna sell me on ArmA2?...cause im damn close.. -
Fog permantantly on, how do I change it?

Ive been messing round with the editor upgrade, changing Utes a bit etc. Made an empty "mission" to run round in, everything worked fine, went to show my clan mates and its all foggy :( So I went and turned fog down, turned forcast fog down etc, re saved it, re exported it to MP and booted it up no the net. After about ten seconds of playing max fog suddenly appears all over the place, no matter what I do. I noticed that on the sliders for the weather effects there is a smaller lighter slider UNDER the main slider that seems to permanently have fog and forcast fog set to about mid way, I cant select it and turn it down however it just overlays the main white slider over the top and moves that! arrrggg wtf is going on please? -

Not sure why people are saying "just turn view distance up" as this is completely irrelevant. Objects will not appear after a few K no matter what the settings, thats just the game. Its not a game breaking problem but its also quite disappointing. I notice as usual BIS are very quite about this and have nothing to say, but (for me) a key point to realism is view distance. In real life you can see very far, especially large vehicles. Its what should separate a game like Battlefield (with terrible draw distance) from a good milsim like ArmA2, but (though ArmA2 has waaaay better view distance than BF franchise) its just not happening. I hope BIS do something about this, looking out over a valley and not seeing the opfor patrol below is extremely unrealistic and frustrating, especially tactically. -
In the editor the weather sliders have two sliders. One is the big white bar I can move as normal, then on "Fog" & "Forcast Fog" there is a second, smaller and more subtle slider, that I cant move. They are set to high fog, which appears after about ten seconds all over the map ive made no matter what I do! i use the editor upgrade but never had any problems up till now. Whats going on please?

How did it go mate? I personally am devoting my voodoo time to making small effigies of BIS dev's and stabbing needles into them...though in hindsight this might hinder their ability to help us...oh well it makes me feel better in lieu of actual constructive help :)

Ive got a ATI 4850, still not grunty enough so maybe this is why im getting these issues. Will try turning down textures and setting video memory to low (is that sitting in ArmA 2 itself?) tonight and see what happens, thanks man. -

Was getting "Receiving" and a black screen during MP...so couldnt play it. MP seems to be okay now after i fiddled randomly with some graphics settings... But, now SP is all messed up. Big graphical glitches that take up the whole screen, sometimes the screen going white etc and sometimes it goes Receiving then goes to a load screen that says "Receiving Mission Status" or something like that. I see theres lots of threads with people reporting these or similar problems yet no fix...help please! Its extremely frustrating to finally get this game and not be able to play it!!!
