  1. There is an exact date for everything CUP: Releases, Updates, Bugfixes.... The date is
  2. I don't want to step on your toes, but honestly, how often do we have to repeat that the plan is to port ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING from Arma 2, Arrowhead and the DLC ?
  3. There is ArmaDev for Eclipse, which Alwarren and me started ages ago. It's not as complete as I wanted it to be, though. We're actively thinking of making it an open source project
  4. Ok, in that case, you simply have to be patient. The bugs are worked on, but we take them on as they come and at our own pace. You can help by adding an appropriate RPT file to the bug report (assuming it's this one).
  5. This sounds like a naming conflict, likely in the model.cfg (i.e. a model that's got a generic name without a modder prefix). Can you please open a ticket on the bug tracker ? Thanks
  6. Any other addons loaded ? Anything in the RPT file ? What objects are you placing ? Any errors while placing them ? Also the question, any other addons in use ? Please remember to use our bug tracker.

    Why are life servers receiving so much hate?

    Well, you could argue that Arma is a military sandbox, and as such, 'Life' would not be "real" Arma. Of course, that would be rather narrow minded. I liked DayZ for a time, until I realized it's just a glorified deathmatch with a lot of running, ridiculous ways to commit suicide and force feed shit to other players (what I miss form DayZ are, well, the 'Z' part). Having said that, I personally have nothing against 'Life' servers, other than that I don't like playing that kind of game, but that's personal preference. One problem I do have with 'Life', though, and that's when decisions are made (by Bohemia) to move the game into that general direction. Say what you want, but the change in the fatigue system was definitely one of those steps. It might not have been exclusively influenced by it, but part of the decision making process are likely to have been 'Life' servers. Or other missions that you spent a long time walking in (Like Exile, I guess). Maybe it's just my perception and the whole change of the fatigue system was really motivated by other reasons (those that have been given were a total miss, though). The real problem is, IMHO, money. The fact that BI allows servers to take entrance fees. This leads to competition between the servers, resulting in all the bad stuff like wanting to protect missions and scripts from theft and the actual theft (or rather, copyright infringements) of other modder's works. Or other games, for that. Arma Life (I think that was the one) and some other foul eggs are really ruining the reputation of the genuine servers.

    Eden Feature Requests

    Great! That will make choosing the date and time much easier. Are the moon phases right, though ? According to some moon phase calculator I found, they are off by a few days. It used to be off by two weeks or so, now it's about one week off
  9. Now with 100 % more active weapons
  10. Any other mods except CUP and CBA ?
  11. I can only hope that BI will never take that step. The open nature of Arma has carried this community well for over a decade and a half, and while there has been the occasional "copyright dispute" in the past, I see more harm coming from a move like that than not. In part, I also blame BI for the situation: They allow monetarization of servers, which, in fact, creates the perceived need for asset protection. Of course, people misunderstand the monetarization, it's used for allwoing server administrators to pay for the some times hefty fees of maintaining a server (while, at the same time, denying modders the same courtesy, even though modders also have to pay for their servers). Again, if you want to protect your code/assets, put a copyright on them, and hope that people adhere to that, and if they don't, tell the world about it.
  12. That's not encoding, that's obfuscating. The only thing it does is rename variables so that you can no longer consider them "human readable"... Things like that exist for a number of programming languages
  13. Answering myself: Seems like these two fro ToH: usePreciseGetInAction = 1; preciseGetOut = 1; were merged into preciseGetInOut = 1;
  14. I'm using usePreciseGetInAction for a ToH helicopter port, since the enter and exit animations are tailored towards this. However, while it works for cargo, it does NOT work for pilot and gunner. They still get in from the "pos driver" and the anim is played along the "pos driver dir" direction. So the question is, is it supposed to work at all for driver and gunner ? usePreciseGetInAction = 1; memoryPointsGetInDriverPrecise = "GetIn_Pilot"; driverAction = "CUP_Hind_R_H"; getInAction = "CUP_Hind_R_In_H"; getOutAction = "CUP_Hind_R_Out_H";
  15. By the way, having said what I said above, it is also the mark of a working community that copyrights ARE, indeed, respected. IF someone claims copyright on a script, model, mod or what have you, the community SHOULD repect that wish. And it SHOULD also go without question that, if you built upon a foundation laid by others, you ask for permission and give proper credit.
  16. The day encrypted PBOs are introduced will be a day the whole Arma community lost their soul. I can hardly see a "win win for everybody" there.
  17. As I see it, there are two options: 1. Don't release your mission (hence, it will not be stolen) 2. Release it, unprotected, and put in a copyright notice that says something in the lines of "Not allowed to modify and redistribute". The reason: ANY method you come up with to protect your stuff will be broken at one point. Not worth the effort, and let me tell you that from the viewpoint of a software developer who had his share of problems with piracy.

    Release Candidate Branch Discussion

    A few observations: Tried to start the campaign. I noticed that after the Green on Blue, Adams starts reporting targets that are really far away, like "Man, 1 km" or similar. I haven't noticed that before. Also, shortly thereafter, he does this: And he won't stop. Save and reload doesn't help
  19. Something is already brewing in that direction. No ETA yet. The plan is still to port everything that was in Arma 2 and it's DLCs

    Release Candidate Branch Discussion

    Minor issue with Eden: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=27983 Moving an object underwater up and down via the drag handles will snap it to the water surface... alt-dragging works, so it's really minor
  21. I've been thinking of adding more missiles/bombs/weapons to CUP. You know that we do already have a GLT missilebox style loadout system in place, courtesy of eggbeast's donated models.
  22. Yes, you will be able to switch the parts in Garage. Regarding textures, only a few will be preconfigured, the rest, I intent to define as possible skins so you can select them in Garage or Eden..
  23. Mi-24 SuperHind Mk.IV Icebreakr, you were right, it's an Mi-24 SuperHind Mk.III, or an Mi-35 (without M) since that's the export variant resp. the original ATE designation. Edit: As Chortles mentioned, this is configurable within the Virtual Garage, and Mk.III and Mk.IV variants exist per default already
