    Can't enable AA

Oh, I didn't even think about the fact that they might be connected. I'll just leave it as it is then, it's almost impossible to drive vehicles properly with default HDR precision with my setup as soon as I reach a desert or equivalent. Huge terrible blinding glow. :( Anyways, thanks for your help!
  2. Name: maxter Age: 20 Location: Sweden Timezone: GMT+1 Experience: About a year of active Arma, three campaigns of IC-ArmA. I'm used to using teamspeak and chain of command. Microphone: Yes Looking for: Looking for a combined arms squad that will stick to ArmA1 for a bit longer. Organized with nice weekly missions and trainings. EU timezone. Desired Position: I want to try my luck as a tanker, preferably gunner or commander, not all that interested in infantry atm.
  3. FCS and IR-sights for tanks. I might recall the C130 having IR-sights in ArmA2? In that case it might not be too much to ask to get it implemented in the tanks per default, sometime in the future. I wouldn't count on BIS to model FCS though, so that would be really cool.
  4. I'm playing through the CWC-campaign right now and I must say you've done a great job. Thanks a lot for all your efforts, great idea and great mod. :)
  5. Ok, cool, I was thinking of just using a "disabled" folder, but it seems you've figured out a way that makes it way easier to deal with and with minimum effort needed to join a server, and as long as that's the case modularity is always a good thing.
  6. So if a server I want to join uses the ACE2 Core, but with some features disabled, I would have to know exactly what pbo's to enable/disable to be able to join, or is there a way to solve this? I'm thinking I would get kicked off because of "illegal" bisigns if I try to join with the "wrong" pbo's enabled, but I might be missing something.

I have no problem understanding him at all?

    I'm Now 100% Onboard With ArmA 2

Another OFP2 vs ARMA2 thread, great, it's not like we can have enough of those!

    I'm blind, this is impossible

Try changing HDRprecision to 16 or 32 in your arma profile .cfg as well.

    Vehicle FOV

If you want to be zoomed out all the way all the time, you can just remove the default trackir-bind to the "zoom in/out" map, no need to bind it to a throttle control that way. At least this works in A1. I used this for a while, I preferred it whenever in a vehicle but found the default zoom better when on foot, so I've switched it back to the default bind.

    Flashlights on the guns?

It's a fact that mounted flashlights are quite common, then just let the player decide if and when to use it or not, you can't deny it would be a realistic addition.
  12. I've experienced the AI just going unconscious after taking a 7.62 to the face from less than 100 metres away, so yeah it does need some work though it's on the right track. Also, I second Sam75's suggestion. Looking forward to ArmA2 and later what the ACE-team can do with it.

    Bullet Stray

I'm pretty certain most of us use modfolders like you're supposed to instead of replacing original PBO's, so I wouldn't be so sure of that.
  14. I agree to a degree, however when the good features of a game is completely overlooked in a review, it doesn't give a professional impression IMO. I'm not saying this is the case in every negative review or something like that, just putting it out there. Of course the retardation of Morphicon and their early release isn't a good thing, and it's a shame they couldn't just release the finished version with the rest of the EU. 4/10 feels a bit awkward though, which I believe those who have played the game agrees with, makes me wonder how they played the game (in a non-elitist way of course), and if some bug fixes would really boost the score all that much. Well, that's up to them (reviewer/s).
  15. I'm sure the incredible size and freedom of the game is not even considered when a mainstream review score is set. Sure, the AI isn't perfect, but compare it to any other game with it's dead, scripted AI and think about what the differences are and why one of them would be easier to make than the other. Then consider the huge open world with it's living animals and amazing atmosphere and compare it to a game based on "levels" where you may have two paths to choose from, at maximum. Of course it's easier to make a bug free "corridor" for the player to walk through, than a country the size of Chernarus where you can go anywhere, anytime. I wouldn't expect a mainstream player to instantly learnt to appreciate the ArmA series, but if you're a professional writer and reviewer I'd expect some more in depth thinking before comparing it to totally unrelated games and point out it flaws, without even considering the much much bigger list of pros. A short pause to think about what makes this game different compared to COD would be enough for a slightly different approach to it. I'm not a fanboy and I won't deny that there appears to be some problems with the game, but compared to what we get I'd call them minor, especially considering BIS great ear for the community and "patch record". It's a shame that poor reviews might ruin players impression of the game before they've even tried it out, but in the end I'm sure that most of those who are looking for something like Arma2 will get the game and enjoy it anyway.

    British vs Taliban replacement configs

Would it be at all possible to request an alternate version of this pack that also replaces the weapons, for us who only want to use it in SP (figure it should work ok in SP)? That would make my day. Either way, great work. :)
  17. I'm mainly waiting for more input about the actual campaign since that's what the pre-review from pcgames was mostly about, right? Would be nice to know if there are indeed alot of bugs (that is hopefully fixed with a patch before even released in EU) or if there was indeed something very wrong with pcgames disc/whatever. I'm not very worried either way but it would be interesting to know. (I won't be able to afford a computer that can run it for the next six months or so anyway, lol)
  18. Actually I think there was some confusion around this quote in the first post concerning this; Somewhere it got confused with the translation from the actual pre-review, and then it snowballed.
  19. Still, if you in fact receive error messages during installation I think it's more or less self explanatory that there may be something wrong with the installer and that any weird errors or bugs in game may be caused by this. I mean, if the installer won't unpack all of the files, or corrupts file, or whatever, of course you will have problems when playing.
  20. Both links work for me. Hopefully it's just the Morphicon release, but in that case I still can't understand why they couldn't just wait and release a patched up version simultaneously with the rest of EU. Bad reviews are still bad reviews even if they're out there 20 days earlier... It also confuses me that the worst known bugs from earlier previews doesn't seem to have been half as bad as those mentioned in that review of the actual release version..?
  21. The thing with ArmA2 is that you can control one of the animals yourself while your buddy/buddies hunt for you, or the other way around, which is not possible in any other game to date as far as I know.

    Just one squad?

Agreed, I really like how each character has his own style and background story, and that you're expected to look after them. I think I'll prefer this campaign about a thousand times to ArmA1, didn't enjoy that a lot at all, I never really got a sense of context or story there.
  23. I like Live For Speeds activation code system, where you have two activation codes tied to your online account, which is refreshed every week so that you always have two codes available each week. Never had any problems with that despite numerous reinstalls. Not that we will see that in ArmA2 since it's the developers own system and not something Securom is likely to use, but still. I'm wondering, anyone that's been playing games with Securom and online activation, is it required to be connected at all times even when playing singleplayer, for verifications sake or whatever, or is it sufficient to be connected once when activating it?

    Making Arma Movie

L just won't work for me (to turn off the crosshair while in camera mode), and there doesn't seem to be a mappable key to it under Buldozer controls either... Any ideas? edit: Turns out it's connected to whatever button you've mapped to "Headlights on/off".

    Video Making/Editing

With the risk of going OT, I'd like to second this question (how to do it in ArmA1 that is). edit: Nevermind. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Camera.sqs
