This has most likely been suggested bust I would really like to see Arma 2 assets, campaigns and missions being remastered and integrated in Arma 3 as a DLC. I miss so much the current gen weapons and vehicles! Chernarus and Takistan too! These were excellents maps with so many details it was a pure joy to explore. Go wonder why DayZ had such a huge success..

Just for the sake of it and because it's so hard to accept this game became rubbish, I've tested the material penetration bootcamp from the latest beta. Even with a 50 cal I couldn't kill the dummies while aiming at their weapon. It reacts just like a magic shield and absorbs every bullets. Ever tried to kill an AT ai? It's even harder due to the magic shield stopping all bullets coming from behind(due to the AT weapon) and the rifle stopping most bullets comming from the front. Also the hit detection fails to records at least 40% of my hits... I found myself aligning at least 5 dummies one in front of the other from prone position at a distance of 20 meters with a full 6.5 rounds mag loaded but when I unlished this huge firepower on them in full auto I just to realize that the game didn't registered half of the shots and that the other half was stopped by these famous magic shields resulting in ZERO kill and a single head shot in return. This game is definitely ruined! FIX THIS!

Due to the state of the game I've been away from Arma for some months now...still keeping an eye on development hoping to see this “hit†system improved. But I am very disappointed to realize that the game didn’t evolve anywhere near that direction since release. This “hit†system is at the core of the game and you focused on introducing features like Zeus and a Kart minigame instead...is this a joke? Man I am so glad I purchased the supporter edition. BI do something about that hit system. It feels like playing a paintball videogame (though we would maybe see some more effects upon impact on a paintball videogame...you know what I mean). At least acknowledge our request! Answer something...feels like you're not listening the community. Will you really ignore this tread? Hope not.

Just to let you know I have created a new feature request on the feedback tracker. You can vote/comment here

Anyone experiencing very long loading when launching the game and also when accessing the menus in-game since last update?

Hey you know I am a long time Arma player and have a bit of knowledge about scripting the game myself but that's not what I'm talking about. We are not talking about creating a crazy tank with "some attach to" scripts (just joking), it's just about a loadout/inventory/gear tool for units and vehicles! The 3 first advantages I could see are: 1. Huge gain of time 2. Instant preview of your character and all assets in 3d while doing the gear selection 3. Great possibility of evolution over the time and an other step in the direction of a fully integrated 3d editor ;-) I am sure some devs share the same thoughts as me...hope you guys can push this up to a point we will have it working! cheers

Thanks for the answers, I really hope this will be implemented though. Disappointed :/

Wasn't an inventory editor part of the confirmed features? The only way to edit the gear is by scripting in the unit initialization field.

And visually I think the new ragdoll effect also makes the game look less authentic... ---------- Post added at 15:33 ---------- Previous post was at 15:32 ---------- Play the game and you will see... -

It's moving to arcade game style because the damage system is also dumbed down... Now I really don't care to be shot at... I know it takes 2 rounds to kill me. -

We are not talking about an enhanced healing system this would be to complicated at this stage. it's about having a better visual representation of the weapons effect on soft targets. At least before when we were hit in the leg we could not walk anymore. Ok this was not perfect at all but still this gave a feel that something happened when you were hit. Now it really feels like an "arcade" game. it's either one hit of 7.62 or two 6.5 to drop a target. Even a headshot wont drop the targets if you are not using the big caliber. Add that to the very gore free representation we have now and this game is nothing more than a paintball simulator... -

Dismemberment is not required. Because it would most likely look fake as it usually does. But the game looks way to clean at this stage. If we could at least have something that looks like what we had in arma 1... -

According to what I see in the Alpha I'm afraid this game sadly appears to be sliding on the dark mainstream side of the marketing force. Yes it's polished...and the animations look better, but it's loosing its soul. From my point of view what made this game different (in addition to the moddability and the sandbox concept) was the fact that at its core it depicted so well the unforgiveness of the modern battlefield and the raw result of such firefights. Now, I'm sorry but it looks like the damage system has been dumbed down. Also the it looks like the gore aspect has been massively toned down as well, and so on... Hope it's only because of the Alpha state of the game at this stage but I doubt it. What is the goal of all this politically so clean aspect? Trying to get a "Teen" ESRB rating? This is a major problem for me...I bough the supporter version of the game because I liked the "unpolitically decent" side of the game but now I am very worried to see this becoming an other tasteless and conformist product of the "video game industry". -
really it makes no sense at all to compare things that are not comparable...

I think the whole concept of the "The Community wishes & ideas- DISCUSSION" thread would be greatly improved if it could be at least subdivided into different categories ie AI, PhysX, Vehicles, Editor and so on.
