Beautiful work by you guys, especially like your work Freelancer on the desert Panzer III. Hopefully your next release will nicely compliment the latest work by Iron Front. Freelancer, if you ever run out of inspiration, I'd love to see someday a Cast hull Sherman in desert colours. It's an iconic looking tank for the North African campaign, for some reason the Cast hull Sherman's always seem to get overlooked modeling wise compared to the Welded hull - maybe harder to model? Thanks for all your continuing work!

Iron Front in Arm3 LITE - preview versions

Love the Crusader AA in the olive drab, talking of which would it be possible to tweak the green of the (very nice!) new Cromwell to be a bit closer to the green of the Crusader? I couldn't help noticing the difference between the two, although it's entirely understandable if two different artists have been working on them. Great work by you guys on all the new stuff, I hope we get a chance to see it in all it's glory sometime in high res. I'd be glad to pay for it. Recently been reading "Monty's Marauders: The 4th and 8th Armoured Brigades" which includes quite a bit of Crusader action, including the eccentric Major Alec Gatehouse, who used to strap an armchair to the top of his Crusader for a better view of the battlefield! Lol... -
Wow, what a nice surprise. Thank you lots for the early Xmas present guys. Only had chance for a quick look before I turn in for the night but I noticed something funky is going on with the (very nice) Cromwell's cannon, the model seems to somehow have both the standard 75mm barrel and the short barrelled 95mm close support howitzer morphed into the same model!!! Thanks again guys!

Very nice looking Bren Carrier there guys, congratulations to Lodu! Talking of tracked vehicles, have you guys considered adopting the Cromwell tanks from the CSA38 mod into your mod? I've noticed a few people recently saying they would like some British armour, but they don't really want to download the entire CSA38 mod just for the Cromwell's. I remember Petr from CSA38 saying a while back he would be open to them being used for other mods with his permission.

Very nice looking Pegasus Bridge there El Tyranos. Maybe it could be released in memory to Lieutenant Den Brotheridge of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (airborne) who it's believed was the first allied soldier to die on the morning of 6th of June (approx 20 minutes past midnight). "Brotheridge was shot down by a German machine gunner while leading the charge of D Company on Pegasus Bridge, a mission vital to the D-Day landings in Normandy. He is remembered as the first Allied soldier and British officer killed in action on D-Day." I'm sorry we seem to have squandered their legacy... -
Hi Action, Here are some interviews with Polar Bear veterans. Who knows, some of them might have served alongside your Grandfather - if he's still alive please thank him for me. http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/80023519 http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/80024997 http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/80020736 http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/80008652 http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/80021486 http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/80024500 http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/80023592 http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/80031271 Be careful in there, you can get lost...

Some stunning screenshots there tomzy, you manage to do justice to the latest units, because they somehow look better every time I start up the game... Great work again guys. Thank you!

Thank you lots for the update guys! I hope you didn't all forget Mother's day in getting this to us... For anyone that wants some hardware to go with the Brits - there are some very nice Cromwell's and a Firefly in the CSA38 and Iron Front mods respectively. The Mk2 helmet is a lot, lot better now, good work! Although is it just me or is the Red Devil's beret a bit on the pink side?

Iron Front in Arm3 LITE - preview versions
archsceptic replied to .kju's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Just to clarify, the Sherman's you can see above are the U.S. 76mm gunned Sherman's and both models are still excellent. The British Sherman's however are a couple of gaming generations behind those in Poly count and accuracy - the wheels for example are octagons, and the turrets, and gun on the 75mm Sherman are quite misshapen compared to the Iron Front model which is more accurate. Again I want to stress, when Marcel made the above mentioned tanks (ofp, ArmA1 days?) they were excellent, excellent quality. -

If I can make a humble suggestion, seeing as the models for the British Sherman's in I44 are showing their age a bit (they were awesome when first created about ten yrs ago) could you not transplant the gun barrel from the Firefly into the base Iron Front M4A4 - seeing as it is a much more detailed and newer model - that way it standardises everything a bit better. I know the history buffs might say it's not historically the correct version of Sherman that was lend-leased to the British - but even so, it's a much better model... Great to see I44 getting another lease of life through you guys! -

Thanks for the update Petr. The Cromwell's look great - I live about a mile from where the Cromwell was partly developed, so it has a special place in my heart. They do tend to look a little bit dark on the maps though, especially compared to the Iron Front armour. Nothing the Shadow/Highlight function and a bit of desaturation couldn't fix in photoshop... Thanks again!- 954 replies

Petr, have you tried the mods below to improve the tank on tank action? They might cure the "unresponsive" problem. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=855548275 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=839956406 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=837225720- 954 replies

Nice video Petr, really looking forward to these. As said above they will go nicely with the FOW units, Brit tank crews can be easily put together in attributes from them. Shame there isn't a Sherman Firefly to go with the 7th Armoured Div Cromwell's - maybe some kind soul could make one from the Iron Front M4A3???- 954 replies

Cromwell's looking awesome Petr Are you going to try to balance them for use with Iron Front units at all? Also, have you tried reducing the "opacity" of the divisional markings down to about 70-80%? I find this takes the brightness and 'new-ness' off a bit.- 954 replies

My Grandfather's brother was a radio operator in Crusader's in N. Africa, then in Sherman's later on in the war in Italy - so I'd love to see both of these tanks from you in the quality of your Panther Mk. III Great work, please dont give up.

31st NORMANDY MOD - WW2 Â -BETA RELEASE
archsceptic replied to rip31st's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
That's a shame, because I seem to recall them importing at least one ofp ww2 model into their mod. I know this is ArmA and not ofp but it is of the same evolutionary tree. But you have to respect their wishes. -

Wishing You All A Happy New Year For 2009!
archsceptic replied to Jennik's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
I'd like to think it will be a happy new year, but I've got a bad feeling it'll be just like all the others - a shit storm from start to finish. I dont suppose there is any harm in wishing though, I suppose. -

ArmA feedback thread - based on Beta Patch 1.15
archsceptic replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Well, I've just reinstalled the game and patched it, now I'm getting peaks of 60fps and lows of 15fps. The lows of 15fps are when I face certain vegetation in the game. Bouncing tanks seem to be back, in the editor I had one T72 bounce up to around a hundred meters. -
ArmA feedback thread - based on Beta Patch 1.15
archsceptic replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
I'm wondering, could I expect better performance with this patch on my PC? Just the other day I uninstalled ArmA after experiencing poor results with my new rig. On Rahmadi, with just me and the seagulls I was lucky to reach 27fps at 1680x1050 (xp) with view distance about 3/4 up the slider. I thought, oh well, my new PC's just too good for ArmA. To be specific: Core i7 940. Radeon 4870 X2 2GB. 6 gigs DDR3 memory. -
As the tiltle says, I want to start afresh with arma but when I unistall the game there are still files remaining. I have tried removing from "Start menu" and "Add or remove programmes". Any suggestions???
-
How do you completely uninstall ArmA?
archsceptic replied to archsceptic's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Thanks for the suggestion Yoma. P.S. I'm not swearing at any prospective helper, the swearing is aimed at how ridiculous it is that ArmA leaves so much behind after "uninstalling". -

It might be an idea for anybody making Normandy maps to take a look at Opteryx's crops on his Avgani map, if you ask nicely he might let you use them. He's got them as a seperate PBO file. Tanks always look their best when sitting in a field of tall crops - especially around 1944. P.S. any luck with converting T-Roc's ofp tanks for ArmA??? -

I know you've got a lot of work in front of you Rip31st - and it's always difficult to gauge these things, but do you think there might be some new content in time for Santa Claus to put something inside his sack? (Not wanting to sound ungrateful for what you've done already).
