new preview from GC (only in Czech) - http://games.tiscali.cz/previews/arma2gc/index.asp some new bits in it, so I took them out: - the story is about post-soviet republic Chernarus. Part of the country is occupied by pro-russian minority which begins terrorize inhabitants. A goverment asked USA for a help, so you're going there as USMC member to establish the rule of law. But the Russia stepped in to destruct the radical anti-russian nationalist army, whereupon US forces retreated but you and your unit are still in Chernarus. - you can choose and join the side you want to fight with - important is your attitude towards civilian population - map of Chernarus is 300 sq. km big (based on Czech Central Mountains 1:1) - most of the time you will have five-man group in hand, again with switch function - some new peaces in vehicle list (obviously "Game 2" stuff): T-90, AVV, BMP-3, BTR-90, Tunguska-M1, C-130J, F-35 - some mix of FPS and RTS-like stuff in MP: in one of the mode, the commander of every team can buy vehicles or build factories - BIS wants to transfer most of the SP missions into MP - the MP game should be saved on a server (including every change in it) so you can continue with it later (now, I'm not sure if it's related just to one the modes or all of them) - no dynamic destructions - full DirectX 10 and Vista support - they're still looking for a publisher - release: June 2008 (or 6 months sooner or later, as Maruk said ) That's all folks

I'm curious about their community support if they'll leave the gaming industry.

Sumava (Böhmerwald) I suppose, heard some talkings about it in one of the vids. Anyway size of the island (or map, whatever) is not so important for me, Sahrani's size is just enough.

All conflicts you mentioned would contain Russian (Soviet) equipment or tactics.

It could be a horrible translation, but I believe this says the physics will not be improved? Thats going to hurt the game alot if thats true... I would think its safe to say the most wanted feature of "Game2" was probly the dynamic destruction. Guess we just have to wait and see. No it says that the physics will be also improved, but people just can't expect a physics level which is in today's first person shooters due to the number of objects in the game.

xnodunitx translated all important info from that

or there's just a sea behind the hills on the screen with Hinds and no other hills
-
I think there's nothing much to see in this stage of the game. Everyone would be just upset by content.

The scenery is awesome, that's right When I first looked at these pics a thought I can see a stream in it, but hell it was just a road

new screens and bit of a new info: http://armed-assault.de/news/beim-stand-von-idea-games.html

And comparison between "ArmA 2" and "Game 2". In my opinion, I've better feeling from "Game 2" alpha screens. Even they're two years old, it's just better. As someone already said, "ArmA 2" looks like another ArmA expansion, unlike "Game 2" which looks like a true "new game"...

What's with the vehicles on those screens? I'm sure all of them will be still in active service in 2009. Come on, it's just two years...

Not in Czech Republic Yeah it looks like the first ArmA but it's developed from Game 2, so I suppose all improvements are in code, new possibilities in the game, etc. which are not visible on these screens. But still it looks like they're using the same engine, even it's drastically improved, the core of it is several years old. And it brings just a problems.

YES! Confirmed 3dsmax compatibilty atleast for VBS2 and hopefully for ArmA. Now for some news from the devs for ArmA. Well, that's old news isn't it? Improved import from 3dsmax and Maya. It was stated in some interviews a months ago.

Uhm... what's there? And according to original post from hrej.cz the beginning of releasing tools (TexView2) is this week.
-
http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=1498 So actually, the 1.08 patch is the thing what delayed the tools
-
Do you have any source? Cause if that's true, then... RoNoN from Idea Games posted that info on Czech site ""Armed Assault Bulvar" in comments to the expansion pack announcement.

Some new features in mission editor were also stated (overview, briefing and scripts will can be created right in the editor). For MP for example online statisctics and charts.
