  1. The Arma community never lets you down. I checked out some of them, but will take the time to over the rest asap. I have two guys at work who are ripe for a change. One said "I wish we could play Company of Heroes as a grunt FPS style". To which I answered "Have I got the game for you". Still it can be hard. I've literally only convinced 2 friends to buy it and actually play with me. The rest just don't have the right gaming interests. To convince one guy, I had to build a custom mission that showcased some of the cool stuff in arma, and it worked. So maybe videos + good trial version will do the trick with my work friends. I'll let you know if a video helped add one gamer to the community. Thanks again everyone, and if you have more videos, I always enjoy looking at em!

    FlexiAI (WIP) discussion

The video shows some very interesting AI behaviour. Some nice wall hugging, and less of what I can only describe as Vanilla AI's "burst out of cover in a wide running circle". Any idea what kind of CPU hit the game will take now that you more advanced into development? Cheers!
  3. I totally understand. Head movement is fine to avoid an uncanny mannequin feel to them. Looking forward to the official release, to be honest I have not played the first release, mostly because I want the first go on the various missions (especially Omaha) to be with the most recent (hopefully bug free) release. The new units, the updated map, the OA features, etc.
  4. Very nice work. Seems the new additions will make the next release more than a simple update. I did a quick search through the thread to find an answer to my question, and didn't find it, but apologies if it was already answered. I am wondering if there are some idle animations for infantry that is riding a tank. At least some head turning? Would be a nice touch to avoid them looking too much like statues.

Most interesting, will give it a shot

    B-52 Buff - Bomber

Anybody know the best way to build a bombing run with this lovely bird? Straight line, no manoeuvring, massive bomb drop? I am having some trouble getting the bombs to fall consistently in the same general location. It's not meant to be super precise, but I am looking to have a special forces type mission where you have to get out of an area that is about to be carpet bombed into oblivion by 4-5 high (by arma standards) altitude b-52's.

    [SP] Flashpoint: Chernarus

Hey, great to see you back on these missions. It's still the only mission I really play outside my own ones. Will be trying to get into the new version between family parties and Steam super sales :)

    B-52 Buff - Bomber

Hey Gnat, thanks for considering it. If I find a combination of waypoints and basic scripts that can do the job, I'll let you know. Previous attempts did succeed in having carpet bombing runs, but they were not too precise (which may be unavoidable in high altitude carpet bombing). Thanks again!

    B-52 Buff - Bomber

Nice! looking forward to trying it out (Can't get to it until this weekend). Made quite a few missions using the previous versions of it. Taking into account the new anti-dive script, is there a simple way to create a high altitude non-guided/locked dumb bomb run? Previous versions were somewhat capricious, as in bombs would be fired late or early (may be simply arma constraints) or the plane would exhibit CAS manoeuvres even when set to "careless". I like the idea of seeing these guys very high up, followed a few seconds later by a wall of explosions. In any case I will be looking at the sample mission and trying a few combinations of uses in some test missions. Thanks again Gnat!

    Mana Fiji - SP & 1-3 Coop - Marvin's Intel

Armaholic was kind enough to mirror it. - Marvin's Intel Co-03 (@)
  12. Wanted to make a mission for Mana island that has a mix of sneaky FLIR sniper action, and some all out combat. Result is Marvin's Intel: - Sneak in and disrupt an arms deal taking place on the Mana airfield - Take down two high value targets, prevent them from escaping the island - Secure the airfield for arrival of reinforcements - Clear out the remainder of the island I usually only release my missions to friends, this is the first time I release one to the community. I usually don't set up an elaborate end sequence, but this mission has an ending if all enemy positions are cleared. Features: - Simple briefing lays out the details - 2 possible insertion points - CLY bandage script - SP or 1-3 player coop http://www.filefront.com/17615869/Marvins-Intel.rar/ Any feedback is appreciated!

    Mana Fiji - SP & 1-3 Coop - Marvin's Intel

Hello Neofit It could have been clearer in my description, but it requires Mana Fiji Island: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=110034

    Mana Island Fiji

Cool! wouldn't mind some feedback, seeing as it's my first submitted mission.

    Mana Island Fiji

Thanks for the heads up. I made a small mission for Mana. Sneak in, take out two targets taking part in an arms deal. Keep them from escaping. Then clear the remaining enemy positions on Mana. The ending is simple, working on making some ending debriefings, but I usually don't bother for release amongst my friends. - Simple briefing lays out the details - 2 possible insertion points - CLY bandage script - SP or 1-3 player coop http://www.filefront.com/17615869/Marvins-Intel.rar/ If anyone likes, I'm thinking of making a larger scale 10-man raiding team version of it.

    Mana Island Fiji

Perhaps not the venue, but I have a coop mission on Mana I'd like to post, any recommendations on where it can be hosted? Is it better to find a file hosting site, or send it to one of the arma community sites?

Quite nice! Got any editor map screens available?

    Mana Island Fiji

Excellent island Prowler! Enjoying it quite a bit. Working on a infiltration/assassination mission that I think works well with the small island concept. I intend to have two versions, a nighttime sneaky-sneaky one, and a daynight 10-man raiding team one.
  19. As long as someone is passing back the information to waterhiro that everyone here is impressed and hoping for more.
  20. Curse you for tempting us so! Hope you can release Malden standalone as a preview of the final product. It would help soften the wait :P Otherwise, still looking forward to some great final work.

Looking great Bracer! Keep up the good work.
  22. Progress screenshots are always lovely. Seeing the Patton reminded me of those first few tank missions in OFP. Our AI drivers keep knocking down sign posts? Well lets make our tank character considered a klutz. Brilliant.

    Emita City

Looking great! I would say that some surrounding countryside outside of the suburbs would be nice. Gives the possibility for mission makers to have their forces on the outskirts, looking at a sprawling city skyline, and think "how the %^& am I going to clear out this place" Performance is always a factor. I have a decent machine and Zargabad chugs when I have a big mission playing. I like some enterable buildings, but most of the time I just want to get to the roof to snipe. I'd say one or two of those kinds of buildings mixed with blocky performance friendly buildings is good. As to a pristine and war torn version, I think it may be good to have a small section (10-20% of the entire city) to be war torn. Mission makers that want that war torn feel can build around there, and the rest of the city remains a pristine canvas for mission makers. Just my 2 cents.
  24. Finally got my hands on OA, and was quite happy that Flashpoint would follow me into Takistan. Pure fun as usual! I of course do have to re-iterate my burning desire for a coop version of the mission. Understanding and fully accepting that it requires a good deal of work for you. But one can hope and one can wait. Thanks again for the hours of fun. Cheers!
