Yeah it could mean that too and you could be right. BI devs must be hands full finalizing the international release, so it indeed sounds pretty strange that they would have the time for the demo at this time. We just have to wait and see. -

ArmA II release date discussion thread
Potatomasher replied to Misfit Leader's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Working isn't exactly funny stuff that keeps me relaxed and there isn't much playable games these days. Arma2 will nicely fill that void. So that's why i'm anxious to get my hands on this already. You're right that CWR will entertain in the meantime, but it needs a sound mod before i can fully enjoy playing it. -
Cold War Rearmed - Public Beta Release
Potatomasher replied to W0lle's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
This CWR is the best thing happened to Arma single player experience ever, but i have to wait for a sound mod. Those original sounds are pretty weak after Hi-fi sound mod. A real immersion killer if you will. ;)- 607 replies

ArmA II release date discussion thread

So is anyone going to try to translate and release a user made language "patch" to German Arma2 like Sickboy did with Arma ? If someone's going to do the job i most definetly buy german version instead of waiting official english release. -
Extreamly low performance with powerful pc!!
Potatomasher replied to CyDoN's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I have no trouble running Arma powered with Nvidia gfx and Win7 x64 and latest drivers. -
So who's making the ultimate hunting mod?
Potatomasher replied to cm's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Strange thread... Why do you want hunting mod when there's free game with maybe more realistic looking enviroment. Take a look at this. Much better than the cabela and deer hunter games. http://www.thehunter.com/pub/ -

You guys have terrible fps on monster machines like yours. Maybe reinstall OS and drivers and uninstall every not needed backround programs you might have. Only thing you need is a virus scanner and maybe a firewall. My detail levels: resolution 1280*1024 terrain very high object very high texture very high shading very high postprocess low shadow high AA high AF high blood high And i got superb fps average 40fps everywhere, even in the woods. Specs are shown below. -

Yes, but guys outside germany shouldn't buy from there until language options will be cleared. -

14 days before the so called german release... I don't think it will happen. -
I agree. If all those previews were based on old builds i think now when the german release is closing (i hope) would be a good time to show some new footage.

Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.
Potatomasher replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
There's something wrong with your rig or setting of it... I have exactly the same processor and i run Arma very high to high with AA and AF. My average FPS stays in about the same as you. Occasionally it goes all the way to 60 or down at 15, but not lower ever. -

There were somewhere benchmarks about performances of those OP:s in games. M$ gives Win 7 RC1 for free. You can use it for a year. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/download.aspx -

You're right, but if the scene is in the forest with lot's of trees, bushes and shadows it may very well turn in to slide show even without AI. :D Like Arma when it was released. -

Sorry to bother but how many fps you get usually on that setup ? -
Yes, FDF was very professional mod. I loved it. I think ACE isn't that great. I mean it doesn't add any campaigns or missions to play so it dies fast if you start playing the same campaigns all over again. Besides FDF mod i recommend to install OAC mod http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3558 It will allow you to play the best original OFP campaign again with better gfx than it originally was.

Hope that's true. I'll buy the german D/L version as soon as it's available like i did with Arma. Just got my "new" dual core processor from EBAY so i'm ready for it. -

HiFi Novus Aevum - modular sound conversion
Potatomasher replied to Mark XIII (DayZ)'s topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Thanks for this sound mod. Best explosions and rifle sounds i have heard ever in OFP/ArmA. :) Just started playing "original" CWC with OAC MOD and this sound mod. Almost like a new experience. -
Oh i don't know what others meaned, but i meaned music from this trailer. I didn't like that russian faction trailer music much. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNV8UbzA9UM&feature=related
-
Yes the music sounded much better than in Arma. It's more heavier OFP style stuff. I like it.

Now we know Gamestar employees know how to configure their PC setup. :D Screens look so much better than most of the other preview shots. And i'm really happy to hear that AI is going to be better afterall. "The times in which they as a convenient target just the middle of the road are over." -

I really liked what i saw. The sounds are much more better compared to OFP & ArmA. Lot's of ambient sounds etc. Like fighters flying above, distant explosions, small arms fire, breathing when wounded & footsteps. Though some of the voices are a little bit annoying. Like "Corpsman !" or "Man". I really can't wait to install ArmA 2 on my HD and start playing campaign. -

Yes they look much better like i thought Arma2 should look now. No wonder why devs aren't willing to give preview code of the game so easily to press when all they do is harm and not positively show the product.
