    Domination or Evolution?

    I've been an active member of the community ever since the OFP days. I never have played Domination or really know what it is. So I'm here to ask what is the difference between Evo and Dom? Also do you prefer Domination or Evolution to play?
  2. I'm having trouble launching ArmA2 Combined Operations through this launcher. I'm using "\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oaserver.exe" to start the server and when I do it says I'm missing Utes and other ArmA2 content. It is only launching Operation Arrowhead.

    Thank you for the very informative posts Smurf and Seany. I think I'll give Domination a try with my buddies on my server. We've been playing Hohei Evolution for a while now and it's become sort of 'stale' to us. Hasn't been updated in a long time and it's got quite a bit of bugs. Anyway I think Domination seems more our style anyway. Thanks for the information. Are there any specific editions of Domination you guys recommend?

    Thanks for the info. What exactly is Domination? I can't find anything about what it is. I used to play Evo all the time back in ArmA1 and never Domination. When I see a thread about it all I see are things like "an updated version of the classic Domination game mode".

    I don't know what you're talking about "daisy fields" but I did have an island independent dynamic zombie mission framework a few months back. If you rarely play Evo or Dom what do you instead play? I'd like to get an idea what the multiplayer community is doing nowadays.

    That page doesn't have anything on the Japanese Self Defense Force from what I can see.     JTD Fire And Smoke

    I've got a crashing issue running your mod with the latest beta, CBA, CBA_A2, CBA_OA, JSRS, and Fallujah. I stopped using your mod and voila - no more crashing. Really too bad because I absolutely love your wonderful addon. That sounds awesome. If you need any help testing MP compatibility or anything at all feel free to let me know. I've enjoyed your mods since ArmA1 and look forward with great anticipation to your next release. I know there has been some setbacks for you and I'd like to help in any way you need. I'm an experienced tester and have some coding knowledge. Anyway great job and keep it up! Are you thinking about making a similar addon for ArmA3 when it comes out?

    I downloaded this from SIX Updater and I can't figure out how to access the commands for the AI in a helicopter. I feel pretty silly, but there's nothing new in the action menu or anywhere I can see.

    What could they possibly add? I can't see them adding in dynamic volumetric smoke or something powered by PhysX. If they changed the vehicle/object handling in any way based on if you bought NVIDIA or otherwise it'd break the game. I don't think they'd do that.

    So there's no Evolution mission for ArmA 2 that is designed to be played vanilla? I've got a SSD and I don't like taking up unnecessary write cycles if I don't have to. That and I don't really care about mods. They tend to bloat the game and cause numerous bugs which would be otherwise avoided, although they do improve aspects of the game.

    So I have a completely vanilla game (aside from BIS beta patch) and want to download this mission. It's a little unclear to me which is the latest version I can use.
  17. What's wrong with that? I live in a similar environment to Czech Republic/Chernarus and this is generally how it looks at night time provided there is enough moonlight.
  18. I think he means how the sky and fog are somewhat luminous but the ground and all objects are completely black. Doesn't really make any sense.
  19. This improved tone mapping sounds great! Are there any people willing to take before/after shots? I'm away from my ArmA computer for a few days.

    Why don't the clouds look good? They are very nice I think. 3D volumetric clouds you can actually fly through, occlude light, etc.

    I'm not talking about floating zone. I mean the actual aiming system doesn't follow the familiar ArmA "one line in two lines" setup. Instead it has the traditional FPS cross hair layout of four lines, one in either direction going out from the center of the screen. This makes me question whether or not ArmA 3 will feature the same aiming system we are used to or follow the path of most modern FPS games where each bullet just randomly is dispersed in your cross hair area. I'm not sure how much sense that made, but I hope you understand.
