Jungle Fever Redux Updated October 2nd 2008 Jungle Fever Redux FINAL Mirrors: OFPNam: JF Redux Old Jungle Fever v2 promo video: Very old and crappy quality, but hey, it's a video! Jungle Fever promo video Youtube version Regular video version requires xvid codec: http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/ Jungle Fever mission pack Download Post all comments, bugs and questions about the mission pack to the Jungle Fever mission pack discussion thread EDIT, IMPORTANT! Download this missions pack, but do not unpack the campaigns that are inside. The ones that are included in the JF download are newer ones. Currently, this is an old version. I'm in the process of updating the pack with new missions and updates of the old ones. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I just now rememberd that I forgot to update the pack. To those who don't know what Jungle Fever is, here it is in a nutshell. This project started several years ago when WRPEdit was released, when I started making the A Shau Valley island. I abandoned the project about a half a year later, and started again when WRPTool was found. I also started making some new objects for it and also used Ebud's great Ilo Ilo ones to get it done. I joined VTE, one version of the island was released with it, then I left VTE and short while after I joined the Unsung. I remade the island a bit with the great new vegetation that the talented Unsung modders had done, and that led the island to it's current form. Somewhere along the way I also started experimenting with some unit modelling and well, various other stuff, and I learned A LOT during that time, most of it from Unsung. Unsung influenced the mod in a great way, and I'm happy it did. The guys kept pushing me with beta updates and new mission all the time, and this encouraged me to finish the mod. This is the final blow. There still might be some small bugs, but those wont be fixed. This version is stable, and it works! More work will be done, regarding missions for OFP, and most likely addons for Armed Assault. Have fun! and the changelog: Some pics: These shots and many many more can be found at: OFP 'Nam screenshots thread at Hawknam.

Black Ops Weapons '80

Both versions do actually, so the M723 can have either the pencil barrel or the M4 profile with the M203 cut. Yours is correct! Good ref pics, I will amend my information. :) Checked my info again, and it stated that in -87 the M723 was "updated" to A2 standards, and then the M4 profile barrel with the M203 was added. So pre -87 with the pencil barrel is very much ok. I will not bother you with this again, you have clearly done your homework. Keep up the good work! -

Very nice! Correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn't that particular 723 model (with the shell deflector) have the M4 profile barrel with the M203 cut? Either way, glad to see these beautiful rifles being made. -

Very nice work! Loving the M653. M727 next? ;) Kidding aside, very nice job with the weapons. These weapons in addition to few units from certain packs and we have ourselves a base for some cool missions. :) -
The Unsung Vietnam Mod 3.0 WIP THREAD
Hawkins replied to sgt_savage's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Searching the topic also works. ;) Regarding the FPS, I also have good framerates with the new island and units, with a decent amount of infantry placed and fighting on the map. Very nice release guys! Thank you for all the hard work you have put into the mod. -
The Unsung Vietnam War Mod v3.0 - ALPHA Released !!!
Hawkins replied to sgt_savage's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Have not felt a 'Nam buzz like this since Operation Flashpoint. Looks, feels and sounds great! The amount of stuff in the mod already is great (especially for infantry regarding uniforms) and I am sure you guys must have some surprises up your sleeve as well. The jungle feels great, firefights are intense and the tunnels add that spice that was missing for a long time. The rivers are great and thanks to the new engine they actually work well, now we just need some PBR's and we have an Apocalypse. Now! setting to work with. One question, and of course this is entirely up to you what you want to do; it is your mod. Are the M67 style magazine pouches staying or will they be changed? Naturally with the A3 engine you can swap around webbing setups (like we can do already with the mod) so making early/mid/late war setups is just a matter of switching the webbing for the particular unit. There were also some other bits and pieces that seemed "out of place" but I have always been too nit picking with this stuff. :) Do not get me wrong though! As I said, I have not felt this at home in a jungle and the 'Nam buzz is just overwhelming. So glad that it is holiday season. Thank you Unsung! -

US Military Mod (80s 90s)
Hawkins replied to Delta Hawk's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Just wanted to let you know delta hawk, that this sounds absolutely wonderful. I have always been a fan of the 80's and 90's US Army stuff, and would hate to see this project fade. Your Arma2 mod was one of my favorites and this is exactly what Arma3 needs. It would most definitely get a special place in my Arma3 folder. Making a large addon/mod is difficult and time consuming (I know), but always remember that there are eager fans waiting for the next release. Keep it up, it's looking awesome so far! -

The Unsung Vietnam War Mod 2.5 Released

Took a spin with the latest version of the mod and played a few missions. This mod is really the best 'Nam experience we have for A2! Polished and Savaged (pun intended ;) ) to the last poly! Really a pleasure to see results from a group of talented individuals. On another note, armanam.com and ofpnam.com down? Do you guys have a website? -
Hi fellow mission makers. I have a small problem or rather a questions regarding variables in AA2. A long time modder and mission maker of OFP, I tend to stick to my old habbits regarding mission scripting, and along the way picking up the new stuff as needed. Now I have a small problems regarding variable values. I searched the forums and wiki but did not find a solution. I have to following in the init.sqf: truckpresent=false; Which, AFAIK, should tell the game that the variable is false. Then, I have a trigger which activates when truck1 is in the trigger area. In the activation I have: truckpresent=true; Still, when I check the variable via the hint format command, it returns a value of 'ANY'. My sqs has a check of ?(truckpresent): goto "cond1" Before that, I check the variable and it, as stated above, returns 'ANY'. Why is it so? I see other scripters using the same method and I guess they have no problems. So why does the check return the value 'ANY' instead of true or false?

Variables in Armed Assault 2
Hawkins replied to Hawkins's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Thank you for the answers! The variable is defined before the trigger is hit, as I understand the init.sqf file is executed right at the beginning of the mission? -

Did you try clicking on the map after it said "mark coordinates"? As far as I know, that should do the trick. -

Gedis, yes that is the way to increase the sound of the footsteps. Beware though, you will then need to create a new modfolder for the edited configs and you might not be able to play on MP servers with the edited versions. joske, thanks for the suggestion, we will make a note of it and at least look into it. :) -
I've updated my mod's animations with the new ones in WW4, nice to see some transition animations between the LAW animations. I also very much love the safe anims and the transition between safe->aware. Good work! Explosion effects are very nice too, did some tweaking to mine and the dust hanging around for a bit longer makes for some nice effects. Good work Sanctuary!

Sorry for the 'not working links', thanks Sanctuary for providing the correct one. :) Updated signature links, thanks for pointing it out.
