The modeling process is a bit different from the industrial one. I'll try to explain what extrude is in o2, and I'll try to add pics when I am able to. Just imagine a planar surface (like a field) which is composed of 9 squares : Â _ Â _ _ |_|_|_| |_|_|_| |_|_|_| If you extrude the one in the center, the 8 other will remain the same but the center one will be displaced in altitude (it will have taken altitude from the field in my example) and 4 new faces will link it to the 4 previously adjacent faces. In fact the result is that you will have something like a building in the field. Of course it also works with things more complex than a square, but that's the principle. Hope I'm understandable, I'll try to post pics to illustrate.

I think that a voice tutorial is not much practical. If you already have modded for other games, you may have some precise questions about ArmA modding, not only a general principle, then you would probably have an answer on the ArmA Editing forums.

Good idea Jerry. I'll try to come and represent the Operation Frenchpoint team. Yet, many people in the team would probably like to participate but won't be able because they don't understand spoken english well enough. So it might be better for them if it was on IRC. But if you think it's a more cool athmosphere on TS or Skype no problem, I'll tell them the news. Â Looking forward to the first meeting. Chris.

Indeed, Operation Frenchpoint Mod has made 81 and 120 mm mortars, alongside with what we call an Individual Grenade Launcher, but that is in fact similar to a portable 60 mm mortar. And we are waiting for the tools (well, at the moment it's quite like holidays in fact, but we used to wait for the tools ).

Cold War Rearmed Discussion
Chris Young replied to raedor's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Maybe you have done much more in this 6 months... Â Even if they do not show progress of their work, I am sure that the CWR team is working hard to provide us with the best possible adaptation of the OFP campaigns. It can seem long when you are outside from the team, but it needs much coordination and discussion in a team to make things advance, and the results of a some brainstormings are not visible until a long time. Please be patient.- 1061 replies

ArmA VBS2 Mod???? What is this???
Chris Young replied to Chip360's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Yeah I was just joking. Anyway, I am not from the team, so I have no more information that what is posted on their website. -
Ok, so it seems it is not the same as the one we use in France. The only correct photo I have of French 81 mortars is the first on this page : http://www.ofrp.net/doc/fichiers/mortier81/Mortier81.htm

ArmA VBS2 Mod???? What is this???
Chris Young replied to Chip360's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
As far as I know, the next version (1.3) will be released when the 1.07 final patch is released. The XAM team does not want to make a release for a beta patch, so it works with the last stable version we have in France, that is the 1.05. About the English translation, well, the language the most spoken on Earth is Chinese, English will come after... I just wanted to say that the team is French so they firstly wanted to make the mod available for French people. I don't know when it will be totally translated. I'll ask some guys from the team to come to answer your questions. Regards, Chris. EDIT : I just saw on their website that there will soon be a modified version of the 1.2 for the 1.07 beta patch. -
Do you have any pictures of such mortars ? I also have the impression it is too long but I do not find good pictures to be sure. Also, the name of this mortar is 81LLR, LLR stands for Léger Long Renforcé, which means Light, Long and Strenghtened (not sure for the last translation...), so maybe it is longer than the American mortars. Regards, Chris.

Questions about the voice.pbo file
Chris Young replied to Chris Young's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Thanks a lot, you are right. In fact I used cpbo to unpack the pbo file but I repacked it with WinPBO (an habit from OFP time I suppose ) I retried repacking with Kegetys' program and now it works. For the moment I am just making tests. -
Hello, I've tried to modify the sounds in the voice.pbo file to change some voices, but each time I repack this file, there is no longer any voice in the game and I can not hear at my modifications ingame. Is there some sort of protection or maybe there is a precise way to do the modifications ? Another question : in the voice.pbo file, there are 33 different folders, but in the options in the game, there are less voices to choose (something like a dozen I think), what are the other voices for ? Regards, Chris.

Up ? No one has the same problem ? -
It was only a beta if I remember well, and we have had no news from him for a long time. Well, that's true, I guess concerned people will consider that factor.

Leclerc will probably be ported to ArmA, even if we can't say when. AMX-10RC was made by uiox, who has now left the team, so he will probably release one on his own. For the AMX-30, we lack photos of the interior, as usual... if anyone can help we would be grateful.

When I open some of my p3d's, I get this message : I don't know why (I've used o2 for some time without ever encoutering this), and I neither know what it is for and what I should answer. Maybe someone can help ?
-
Ok, then I'll go on with it. Quite surprising however.
-
Yep, like Colonel_Klink explains in his tutorial : http://www.dc3d.co.nz/Tutorials/guneffect.htm
-
Yes, of course, you need to wait for the tools...
-
To get bombs and missiles working together, just use a hidden selection for the bombs instead of a proxy, add an event handler "fired" which detects which weapon is used, and if it's a bomb, create it and make the bomb model disappear from the model of the plane. Then you can use the proxies for the guided missiles.

Cold War Rearmed Discussion

The French Army still uses the AC-58 and AP/AV-58 rifle grenades. The were created by OFrP for OFP.- 1061 replies
