I believe this is not the case. Repro-missions proves that.

Don't speak for me' date=' mate, I enjoy small engagements very much. ---------- Post added at 21:41 ---------- Previous post was at 21:36 ----------

If it should be a behaviour mode then it would be wise to leave it under 7 between other combat modes (aware, stealth, combat, safe) and not in the engage section. It could be called "the slave mode"...

Can you make a repro-mission? I would like to test it and report my FPS. Or...maybe a proper benchmark mission with predefined scenario would do better job (but I am unable to program it). Anyway, it is absolutely crucial that we all test the same benchmark mission. It has to be absolutely exact on each computer.

Hi, I have noticed that when I place many AI units on a map my visibility gets limited automatically and I cannot override it with the visibility slider. There seems to be some ceiling applied. Can anybody please explain to me since when is this working like that and how to unlock the visibility no matter the performance? This behaviour is making flight missions unplayable. I use no mods, just the latest DEV branch. Thanks. EDIT: Or is it a bug? Cause I am unable to reproduce it now in a new mission I made in editor.

Thank you. Will try.

I did not necessarily mean multi-language support. Just english subtitles to the english voiceovers so that less skilled non-native english speakers can check the text to be sure.
-
I want to see AI coping with such realistic flare system...
-
OK, thanks for your explanation. I personally thing this is a tricky one to solve. Subtitles should be definitely included for non-native-english players. Another thing is that you have to test your mission with different graphics settings in order to see how easy/hard is to identify targets in the game. LODs can change a lot. Virtual environments are seriously limiting our real-world skills. I guess you cannot go wrong with enough options for various players.

Yes, I also think that LOS is playing a major part in this bug. Have you tried my repro-mission AI_engage_bug_AT_test.Stratis_2.zip according to instructions in my ticket? What were your results? Thanks, man!

Can confirm. It is a few dev updates old problem. ---------- Post added at 10:28 ---------- Previous post was at 10:17 ---------- This is a pretty individual problem and saying that they didn't optimize their game is not objective. I have a mediocre notebook and have constant 30 fps most of the time. Arma 3, with better graphics, is running significantly better than Arma 2 on my notebook. I was unable to play Arma 2 in native resolution with enough FPS but now I am able to in Arma 3 and with some other effects and details on top of it that would make Arma 2 unplayable on my notebook. And I know another guy that has the same experience as me. So I am not denying there are problems but these problems are not universal and not every user is experiencing it while some users experience a significant performance boost with Arma 3. But I guess you have written your post out of frustration so your tone is understandable.

Thanks for the info. Will test more.

I will not vote because I don't like how the poll is done. "I like full realism, with no targeting or mission aid. The harder the better" This has nothing to do with realism as you have to have some aids and compromises in the game to indicate stuff that are perceived in reality but impossible to simulate in virtual worlds. For example: until the AI is able to give me an exact description of the enemy/movement positions and communicate this with me properly (not possible in near future) you will need some visual aids to show you what they "mean" etc. Playing without crosshair is another good example of pseudo-realism in games. It is stupid and missing bigger context of things. But yeah, I like the game to be challenging (even hardcore hard) but fair and rational and logical.

Thanks for the feedback. I will try to do some repro-missions "man vs man" if there is really a difference from "AT vs vehicle" scenarios. Problem is that very often the engage process is not even initiated at all. You give the order but there is no response from the AI. See the ticket for more info and try the repro-mission. Also, I believe there is no difference between "Engage" and "Engage at will" command apart from the automatic initiation of the engagement after a target is given in case of "Engage at will". In case of pathfinding and LOS the "Engage" and "Engage at will" commands should work the same way. Thank you.

I don't believe it is that easy to solve.

Yes, rearming AI is horrible. Devs should really take a look at it.

I have the same problem as OP. In my game, gamma setting does nothing too. It does not work at all. Slider moves but thats it. And yes, I have an original version of the game. I also has these "golden-like" houses and NATO soldiers when the sun is low. OPFOR forces are not affected. It is like this since beta version I bought. Setting the HDR to standard helps a bit but the performance impact is unacceptable for my rig. Also, I use no mods.

I think that current waypoint placement in Zeus is impractical. I would like an option to select a type of waypoint and its other params before placement of the waypoint instead of the current system of having to click an existing waypoint and change its parameters on the fly. It is highly impractical for example in situations where you need to unload transport from a vehicle but because you place the waypoint close to the vehicle's current position you don't have enough time to change the params of the waypoint and instead of unloading the transport the vehicle just moves at the waypoint. I hate this waypoint placement system in High command too. It does not make any sense. It is a horrible design decision in my opinion.

I have decided to create a new thread for this bug as it was reported a long time ago on the tracker and there is still not satisfying progress in the debug. I would appreciate your help in debugging this as this is a major AI issue but seems quite complicated to understand what is exactly happening. I would also very much appreciate anyone with scripting skills that would be able (and kind enough) to create a more exact and analytical repro-mission based on the findings in the ticket. Here is the ticket. All info is in the enclosed ticket. My repro-mission too. Thank you.

It surprises me that a veteran forum member with 4600 + posts is unaware of the fact, that 3D artists, physX programmers and game designers are not able to fix AI issues. But I understand that reading such a changelog while serious issues are still waiting to be fixed can be frustrating (it is frustrating for me too).

Yes, AI AT sucks a lot. I am also getting tired of it. Moreover, there is another bug that adds to this problem. Check my signature.

Flashlight vs no flashlight results will shock you
Bouben replied to bravo409's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
This is strange. I will have to test it myself. Can somebody confirm this (especially the NVG issue)? -
So why are you posting it in this thread?

Flashlight vs no flashlight results will shock you
Bouben replied to bravo409's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
So you basically say that the light emitted from a flashlight in Arma 3 is visually too weak to have such a big effect on spotting and that the light should be either stronger to visually compensate for such spotting bonus or the spotting bonus should be lower to match the visuals? Something like that?
