I saw several combat footages where soldiers were running in combat gear and they were quite slow even under fire. Simple as that. The body has its limits and you can try as much as you want - it won't let you over the bar. You cannot change the laws of physics even in those situations, unfortunately. And Arma is not even simulating the huge clunkiness of real-life movement (soldiers often stumble, loose balance, their gear is often going in their way etc.). So Arma is still so much forgiving in this area. EDIT: If you want a good movie reference of an actual movement under fire with a gear on you on a problematic terrain then watch the Omaha landing in Save private Ryan. Very slow and tiring and very accurately portrayed in my opinion compared to the footages I saw.

Oh you dreamer... And no, you don't necessary have to drop your weapon while hit. I saw a lot of videos when people continue to shoot even when hit multiple times. Of course, I am not sure if they were injured in arms/hands too.

A non-planned fix in a code might change the context of some other part of the code. If the code is too difficult to understand by a single programmer, there might be problems with exchange of proper info about it and bugs then happen even after fixes.

Seems to me that you don't see a difference between running full speed and running at whatever speed. Look up some real combat footage that has minimum of cuts (editing) and you will see how incredibly slow the soldiers are IRL. Much slower than in the game. It is impossible to sprint with a lot of gear for more than short distances. The rest of the distance is a much slower running (often very clunky). I really have to wonder where is this myth of soldiers being able to sprint for long distances coming from (or the myth of combat being very fast paced and with a lot of action).

I will add to that that I have been recently watching series of military documentaries and the soldiers were also very porn-like. I also do some "porn" when pushing myself a lot while hiking.

My thoughts exactly.

Yes, the game is still too forgiving in this.
-
Too clean and deformed too. I would not have such a problem with current ragdoll system if the bodies weren't so stupidly curved after falling on ground.
-
Yes it happens (not all the time I suppose), if the target is not immediately killed. It depends on things as for example if the bone was hit etc. It is also a matter of reflexes of a person being hit.

If he was actually switching it in Steam, he would have to download GBs of data. Not 700mb.

I could stand a little bit of gliding. It is in a lot of games and it looks more acceptable to me than the old-movie-speed animations. It sucks so much. This is a huge immersion breaker for me. Damn...
-
I was afraid of that but I am not surprised it is like that. I wish the speed of object movement wasn't connected so much with speed of animations. It is a terrible immersion killer. Nothing is spoiling the visuals more than wrong animations.

Cool. Now, how devastating was its blast to the surroundings?

Definitely with you on this one.

I don't know about a dedicated interface discussion so if it does not exist yet, you can start one.

Yes, it takes about 15 seconds of boring hassle. Explain that to a casual/not-to-be-bothered Arma 3 player, that buys most of the copies of the game and has the most vocal part of the community when it comes to fatigue and sway. Not me. If it is not a simple switch in Steam UI, then you are screwed. That is the reality of it.

It is also a hassle for somebody to switch between the stable and dev versions.

I really dislike the way the sway looks while jogging. I hope it will improve. I also agree that slowmo animations feel wrong. I doubt it will be easy to improve tho.

It would be amazing if this was simulated properly in the game. Thanks for the info.

How is sway delayed? It is already in the game, isn't it?

T-70s/T-80s use handwheels?

Thank you for this. I hate this since the OFP times. It is so unrealistic and immersion breaking. I was watching some Syria footage and tanks regularly took much more time before they were able to actually shoot at a target. A lot of aiming corrections were involved too. In the game, I have a feeling that tanks are autonomous turrets.

When you take a shot, you will not instantly fall onto the ground unless killed immediately (happens only rarely) and even then it looks completely different than in the game right now. Also, in real life, human bodies got bones and other stuff than prevents them from deforming into "piles". --- The absolutely best implementation of ragdoll and dying animations is in GTA IV. Nothing came close to it yet (or I haven't seen anything better).

Inertia system in Arma 3 will have nothing to do with ragdolls.
