We're speaking about the highest decisionmaking levels here. It's there everything is at stake. In the US system you have to be a millionaire and support the current system and the big corporations to win an election. I'm sure political campaigns aren't free in the UK either. I'm a member of the proletariat because I don't have ownership of any means of production. I don't earn money on the work of other people. Either you earn money because you own, or because you work. There's no middle class in those terms. The middle class is just a privileged part of the worker class. Ie it earns more because of the supply/demand of their skills. There's only upper and lower class in terms of power. In terms of standards of living there are as many classes as you want. There's no free will. Everything you do and think is based on prior events. The chemical reactions that happen in your brain follow the laws of nature. Ie they are all deterministic processes. Again you show that you don't have any idea of what socialism is. "Material possessions", there's nothing wrong with that, that's why we produce goods, to improve our standards of living. When marxists talk about property, we mean private property, ie the means of production. Not your TV-set, toothbrush or bed. So what if they don't decide things at the top level? I still proved you wrong. Oh and we don't have kindergartens and they have a bigger impact than bus lines as well. Yet again you show you know nothing of the UK. In the UK anyone can be an MP. Doesn't matter what gender you are, ethnicity etc. An individual does not need to be rich. Middle class is more than just what you earn. The vast majority of people on the west have middle class views and a middle class lifestyle. Even if they are working class. That is partly why it is incredibly hard to define class nowadays. There is a free will. I mean here you are talking like a scientist about biological determinations when sociologists have shown time and time again that biological determinations in our lives have a minor role (and scientists have a hard time proving otherwise). There are no real 'laws of nature'. This means that you think criminals are criminals because of thier biology. That women are more suited to the home because of their biology. Studies have shown that this is just not true and thus you are wrong. Our minds have allowed us to go beyond biological determinations. People have a free will. We have emotions. We are not computers. Socialism? Never mentioned it. Of course there is nothing wrong with material possessions. But you don't get all of it in Cuba.

We're talking about the US here. Not other countries. In a parliamentary liberal-democracy it is easier to get a seat without having lots of money. But advertising and propaganda is a big part of the system. Small parties usually have no chance to compete with the big. Especially in the UK which is a 2-3 party system more or less. I don't think you have to fear anything from the Police. If I was moving to the USA I would watch out for the civillians seeing as they can carry firearms. Just watch where you go. I'm not saying to walk around and have to watch your back all the time. I've been to the USA a couple times and the thought of the armed populace never crossed my mine. Just stay out the dodgy areas like you would in England. The Menezes shooting was tragic and it's disgraceful the officers have not been punished for the crime. I do not entirely blame them. This was right after July 7th and the pressure is on for the Police to catch these terrorists and stop further attacks. Especially now that we see that there was an attack planned for later in July. Â Â Â However during the Anglo-Irish War and the other conflicts the IRA would kill anyone one that didn't fit in with their view of what Ireland should be, bomb civillian areas etc. You also mentioned that Kosovo could lead to instabilities within our own states. Well the chances of the CNLA, SNLA and Welsh Paramilitaries initiating some sort of successful campaign because of Kosovo is incredibly slim.

N.Ireland is a completely different situation to Kosovo. You cannot not compare the two. Like NSXr said, know it's history first.

Really slick addon there. Kudos to all involved. Anyhoo I just spent the last hour and a half creating a mission (yep, that's how l33t my skillz are) for these blokes. Creatively titled 'Search and Destroy'. It's not been tested enough but it should be good enough for a wee spin! If you want to report any bugs or give advice check the readme for contact details. Although you should be reading the ReadMe anyway! It's not got any fancy scripts or voice files, but hey, it's a mission. Anyway here is the link.

I suggest you re-read the above posts very carefully. Anyhoo, aren't we hijackin' Cam's thread a tad?

I wouldnt really consider IC-ArmA or ArmA TOW 'leagues' in the traditional sense. I never thought of it as a league when I took part in it. IC-ArmA has also been very successful with massive battles occuring every weekend. Despite certain deficincies within ArmA that have supposedly "killed" the "PVP community". What this says for me is two things. ArmA is more suited to large open battles than small CQB fights. That the success of IC-ArmA and ArmA TOW indicate that the majority of people wan't to do something different than traditonal CTF, DM etc. I'll probably take a shouting for this. God forbid someone disagrees with some of the people in here.

Another 'new' Close Combat game has been released but now it's set in (obviously) modern times. This is based off of the CC that the USMC and RAF Regiment use for training. Here are some features: An update/patch has just been released which includes various additions and fixes. Detailed information here. As a long standing CC fan I'll definitely be getting this.

I have not got the game yet but I'll be happy to put up a few comments on it if you want? Once I get the game of course. Or you can visit this site Do you know that there was a re-release of CC3 last year? It's called Close Combat Cros of Iron. I created a thread in the offtopic section here when it was released. It got a huge update in various aspects from AI to being able to run on XP (possibly Vista) pretty damn good. It came with a host of other stuff as well and is an excellent game. One really shaweet thing is official MMC3 support with a few servers. It also comes with Battle Lobby for MP games and Official version of the mod plugin installers. I think you can get Battle Lobby for free as well. There is always someone playing CC on there. Excellent stuff. Amen.

Their goal is OFP into ArmA. Nothing more, nothing less. They could change some names of addons, maybe. But all classnames etc. must remain for OFP missions to be converted over. I would rather see the OFP dynamic mission (exceptional quality) 'Abandoned Armies' have a good chance of being converted over than some inaccuracies most people probably won't care about. Not to mention the possibility that CWR might be tight for time as it is. And you need to learn to research with proper materiels. Anybody can use google and that certainly does not qualify someone as a "Military Realism Consultant".

But if they change too much then it will break OFP missions. Both official and non-official. They want to make mission conversion as smooth as possible.
