Mods with death if wounds not treated (SP/AI)?
nettrucker replied to joeanorak's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
hi there simply use the standard BIS First Aid Modules. That does the trick. If you are shot and no medic will show up in a certain amount of time you simply die. Hope I don't have misinterpreted your OP. regards -

Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead - Radial Command Menu
nettrucker replied to PacX's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I did. I had never any issues using the command system. When starting with OFP back then, it took a couple of weeks to learn the command system and after that it came naturally. I prefer the actual command system rather than a radial command menu but that's just me, but seeing the poll result it's not only me who wouldn't change the actual system. regards -
Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead - Radial Command Menu

Hi there I voted no. Where is the difficulty in remembering numerical combinations of 2 figures to issue orders to your team, is beyond my understanding. Best regards -
AI crossing bridge Prob
nettrucker replied to panda123's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
unfortunately this is an issue since old OFP days which couldn't be properly fixed. AI's are going mostly for a swim loosing their equipment. Sometimes they manage to cross a bridge when placing WP very precisely. You gotta do some tweaking and trail and error. Sorry but I guess there's no proper solution yet for this problem. Kind regards Edit: I forgot to mention also the importance of the formation in case you order the group to cross a bridge. Best formation is naturally column or column compact. -
I laughed that hard that my tears were rolling down my cheecks LOL Thanks Gulag you made my day. I apologize for my spam post but I couldn't resist to comment Kind regards:D

Don't you hate it when you try to spread the word of arma and...
nettrucker replied to Whoatherefatty's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
It is sometimes impossible to establish if the enemy is still in the fight or not, even badly wounded. In war people are sometimes capable of doing things that under normal circumstances they wouldn't. Once I read the Medal of honor citations of the Vietnam war and there were sometimes a brief comment in what circumstances the soldier in question received the medal. American soldiers did incredible things even badly wounded to save their brothers in arms. So when it comes down to kill or getting killed due to a wrong evaluation, I would prefer to kill and live rather than the contrary case. Sorry for getting off topic. I started playing OFP when it came out and moved to Armed Assault and finally to ArmA, during all the time I played BIS games it became every day more harder for me to play other wargames. My enjoyment of playing COD or Vietcong or MOH was rather low. I just played a few levels and got immediately bored. I finished the games playing 2 levels at the time and I felt missing the freedom BIS games gave me and what got me fascinated to play OFP in a first place The only games I sometimes play to get a break are GR orig. and Silent Hunter series. It sometimes seems to other people too much effort to learn to play this game. It is not everyone's cup of tea. Or you get hooked by the game immediately or most probably you will never like it. We are all individuals and therefore everyone of us has his own taste when it comes to gaming. It is a matter of fascination and emotion you have when playing a game. The immersion you get when playing a mission. BIS games, for me, were always the most challenging wargames I played. So when talking to other people about ArmA I sound always very enthusiastic and I can transmit this to people but that does not mean that in the end they gonna like it, infact, in most cases they didn't, for whatever reason. I won't list all the arguments they told me. For me it's kind of a love and hate thing. Or you love it or you hate it. Just my 2 cents. Kind regards:D -
How to terminate animation loop?
nettrucker posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Hi everybody I got a problem with stopping an animation loop. I searced the forums but all solutions I found in various threats are not giving any results. I was using following animation loop but can't get it to stop ap switchMove"AmovPercMstpSrasWrflDnon_AmovPercMstpSsurWnonDnon_forgoten"; I searched also on Ofpec couldn't find a solution though, any suggestions to terminate the loop. I tried unit switchMove ""; it does not work out. Any help is highly appreciated. thanks in advance. regards nettrucker:confused: -
How to terminate animation loop?
nettrucker replied to nettrucker's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
I Just tested it in the editor and I must admit I'm stunned because it's not working in the units initfield I've tried with this and units variable name I couldn't get it to work. It works in waypoints activation field and with the triggers activationfields though. I named the unit which should surrender ws1 ws1 switchMove "TESTSURRENDER" If you use a trigger activation. Condition should be set to true. I'm really puzzled that the anim commands doesn't seem to work in units init field. Try for yourself with a waypoint or a trigger and it should work. regards -
How to terminate animation loop?
nettrucker replied to nettrucker's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Hi Manzilla for the static surrender scene where the unit has already folded the hands behind the head the anim move should be "TestSurrender" unitname switchMove "TestSurrender" I have never seen the "Surrender" animmove command. If you can't get it activated in the units init field try with a trigger or otherwise with a camscript. hope that helps. kind regards -

Hi July26th Welcome to the forum. please search first before opening a new thread because there's already a thread dedicated to the best ArmA experience. JFYI. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=75487 It helps to keep the forum more clean and viewable. There are hundreds of double threads around which could have fit in one single thread. thanks for your understanding, no offence.:D kind regards -

This is sad news to me since you are definitely an oustanding Island maker and I love the work you did for the OFP/ArmA community. But I understand the motivation behind your decision. Good luck for the new undertaking. Kind regards p.s. I hope you won't leave this community forever and that you will come back one day. Thank you so much for all your achievements that you shared with us.

The greatest ARMA 2 experience I have ever had.
nettrucker replied to Sky999's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I was putting together a SP mission in the editor and by that time the game was patched 1.02. The AI was very lethal and unforgiving. I had set up an assault on Lopatino and I was closing on the town when contact was made. The advance came to halt and the enemy AI was putting some heavy fire on us. When I was detected and the enemy AI directed the fire towards me I found cover behind a small wall in the middle of the field. I could hear constantly bullets hitting my cover and everytime I tried to take a look over that wall I was immediately welcomed by a hail of fire. The enemy AI was zeroed on my position and kept hitting the wall constantly. When I got up to a kneeling position just to take a look, it took them 3 seconds to kick my butt and kill me. So I had to get up for 2-3 seconds to take a look to get an idea of the situation and drop back on the ground immediately. I always changed my position slightly to the left or to the right but I couldn't move very much. Everytime I tried to crawl away from the position I got my ass handed over. The enemy AI kept me pinned down and I was nearly unable move. At that time an enemy T-72 rolled in to reinforce the enemy and things got even worse. Everytime I tried to have a look over the wall bullets were zinging all around and I filled my pants several times. LOL. Then I saw that the enemy AI had wiped out our left flank and were starting with a flanking move on their own and I thought "shit I gotta get out of here . . . now". It was imposible to stand up and run because the T-72 had a perfect shot and was unforgiving. I tried twice to go for a run to get the hell out of Dodge . . . zigg zagging and running for my virtual life but they killed me everytime. So retreating and go for a run was not an option. I managed after several attempts to crawl backwards and disengage. When I finally managed to leave my position and retreat to safety, I thought by myself " Wow that was really intense . . . what an awesome game. " I personally had countless amazing situations in ArmA II and I love this game. Regards -
