    AMD CPUs aren't doing well in ArmA 3

    30-50% GPU in MP is quite normal, at least in my case. I can turn the sampling(first page in Video settings, think its topmost option) up to 120%-200% if I want to see higher utilization. I might loose 1-2 FPS at 200% but it is also supposed to make the game look better (and it does) but I usually use 120%. Simply because it has no downside. I want every FPS possible while the game should look good as well. If I'm attacking a town, I want to see the town (Visual distance 1000m is not enough for me, not even as infantry, so I run it at 2000m ). That 200% utilizes my 7870 to the max. I haven't tried it in SP since I rarely play singleplayer.

    Can't get online with Mods.

    Did you have the keys in the correct folder? I think it is ...\Arma3\Keys\. Most mods just have their keys under the mod name, for example @CBA\Keys\. Try moving the .key-file to arma3\keys\ instead, see if that works.

    ammunition: running low

    Yeah, kill em first :P AI whine about low ammo constantly. I dont know what the limit is but somewhere between 3-6 clips left IIRC. Have you tried using "Engage" instead? Or "Engage at will"?

    I guess you haven't noticed. They do have a 72 player server up. Go test and report. Ask yourself this. How long does a car in development get testdriven? 1 day or months? Software is in many ways the same. Test and test again.

Yes, we all suffer from poor bullet damage. Headshots with a sniper rifle is not the best tactic. Any hit in upper torso will kill them. Aiming for the head is just a waste of ammo. I don't know how you play sniper but I snipe predominantly moving targets. Engage range 500-800m mostly.

    Is Arma 3's AI so unusually accurate? I don't think so

    Another factor that I haven't seen mentioned. When I get shot by AI, I first have to figure out what direction it is coming from and then trying to spot the AI. AI don't (always) do this. They usually spot me instantly and shoot back instantly. Of course they are aimbots. All AI are.

    This is just my guess. A script being run on the server. Clean up bodies/vehicles maybe. That info also has to be sent to clients. So that would mean script overhead + data sent to all clients overhead.

    Mod Enabling/Disabling

    IIRC playwithsix uses a file to load all addons, a plain-text file. Think it is in My Documents somewhere. Or in Appdata. The only time I've seen mods enabled and just those mods appear in the list is when I modified arma-shortcut with -mod=@whatever (maybe til no more text is allowed on that line).

    Trouble with weapon optics

    Anyone else spotted the bug in the first picture? The gun-part you can see in the scope is white, lacking textures. For that single reason I refuse to use that gun and sight combo.
  12. Bandicam is quite nice. It doesn't kill your FPS like Fraps does. You might loose 1-5, depending on what you are getting. 115 FPS in iRacing without, 110 FPS with Bandicam running. In Arma 3 I loose 1-2 fps, barely noticable. I haven't checked the audio stuff but there is recording available of 2 audio devices, one is by PTT. I don't stream, just record for the fun of it and share em if something funny happens.

    Can't get SweetFX working with ArmA3

    Did you extract all the files? Including the folders? And placed them all in root Arma 3-folder? Theres also two versions of SweetFX, injector version and the other. Try both. Separately.

    Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

    Was altis on beta? I just remember Stratis. At least no MP servers ran Altis. Then came release and I couldn't find a single server running stratis (Domi/I&A-style missions). Stratis is lighter on the PC, doesn't require as much as Altis. Which is why I'd rather see Stratis used more.
  15. Yeah, used to be better in OFP/Old Armas, we could choose which exe to launch and which version, stable or beta. This going back and forth between stable and dev-version...aint gonna happen here.

    Couple quick questions!

    I could not find a toggle for aiming mode. Hold breath can be bound to whatever key, even duplicates. I have it bound to 'C', just like Combat pace toggle, 'C' key on both. Shift-key is Turbo I think so might want to change that. I also like to have get out/eject on same button, CTRL+S. I don't know about the campaign and other stuff.

    indoor improvements

    Considering just entering a town halves the FPS, furniture would not exactly help that situation. And getting stuck on furniture = fun? And third, for what purpose? Are we having tea and biscuits in the middle of a war? =)

    Disappointed after 13 years of 'Arma'

    Far Cry 3 AI is pretty fun to play with, toy around with and snipe them. They do come after me, with jeeps, running, laying down suppressive etc. I have found 1 weakness tho. I can't snipe AI from great distances, bullets just disappear after a certain range. Friendly AI in Arma 3 MP is quite abysmal. I usually recruit 4 AI. Everytime I HALO somewhere, 1 or 2 decides to NOT follow any orders and run in the opposite direction to where I am going. Another thing is when friendly AI detects enemy AI, do they stop and start shooting? Not always. (I have engage at will ALWAYS enabled) Once my AI just kept running til he got killed. Best AI? AI must be abysmal in other games if this is the best. I played some Benny CTI offline yesterday. I could take out a whole squad without even 1 firing back. They just ran towards me. Or away from me. Not once did they take cover.

    [SP/MP] BeCTI

    Is there a reason my FPS gets halfed every time I move? Makes it unplayable. 24 FPS -> 10 FPS. Can't even move around without getting dizzy.     Why this game sucks...

    There is one nice server running I&A I think, based in Australia called Anzus-something. I have ping around 100 from Europe. Public server but very often group-oriented gameplay if you like that. I just don't give a FFFF about that. If I killed 1 AI, I helped the team. So move on with your life and tactical bullshit.

    Smoke Grenades in the default loadouts

    1-2 smoke nades, maybe. Chemlights absolutely not needed and 40mm...just say no. Just about none of my loadouts have smoke/chemlights. I rather pack mines and ammo/normal grenades. Those save my life more often than some smoke grenade that does nothing to remove the threat (as opposed to bullets, nades and 40mm GL-nades). If I want a pick up, I can mark my "loc" or they can look at map. No need for smokes.

    More like 'Can 10 people find the error with the wristwatch faster than 1 person if they all had the exact same copy of the watch? And come up with a better solution, together?' You don't have "1 code" and only 1 person can look at it at a time. You can have 10 people working on the same code. Just different parts. Communication is important here. You could have a contest over at BI studio. Whoever makes the game run 1 FPS faster will get 3 days off =). 5 FPS = 15 days =). Vacation days at your disposal. NO CHEATING! You know who I mean! :P (everybody feels guilty, right, coz nobody knows EXACTLY who I mean).
  24. Zeus sounds like something really fun. If done right, by the GameMaster (or whatever you would call them). Especially in Coop. No more stale and rehashed Domination-style takeovers. Now the AI will get their revenge! All hail AI! OGA BOGA OGA BOGA! Haha
  25. FSAA is probably the biggest framerate killer. Why I run 2x FSAA at all times. I see no difference between that and 4x. Not when playing. Then comes View distance and Object distance. After that probably particles (smoke, gunfire, tanks burning, lots of that and the computer crawls on its knees). I assume all particles are done on the CPU which isn't good in a CPU-limited game.
