  1. Hi, glad you guys enjoyed the campaign. At the moment, I just have an idea regarding what I'd like to do in the ArmA3 editor. Something that would use what I've learned during my past projects, and put that together in a dynamic, coherent and immersive context However, I don't have much time right now. Maybe later.
  2. Hi SaOk, I feel you so much after the contest results. You came to the same realization as me and a few other content creators: we are working and improving BIS products for free. That's the reason I stopped working on my dynamic mission, that was well before the contest. People even told me they bought the game to try my mission. For me the contest has been the occasion to be rewarded for quality content creation, so I took a really good swing at it and decided to make a full semi-linear scripted campaign, with high quality voice acting and a nice scenario/mission flow. Well, it didn't turn out as planned, but we knew how the judging will be done and nothingwas certain so we can't do much about that. I know you have been working on WLA for a long time, but if it begin to feels like a burden and you find no joy anymore working on it(like me), you won't lose much turning away from ArmA for a bit of time. It's not like you're a BIS employee, you can do whatever you want.
  3. There's 2 reasons: -At the time it was released, the Steam Workshop wasn't able yet to support the campaign .pbo files, so I had to release it as an addon with a campaign within. -This campaign contain custom menu background/scene. Except that, it's only mission files.

  10. Wow guys, 1 year after the last update of the DUWS this mission is still going strong within the ArmA community. I was expecting the mission to die after I stopped supporting it, but it seems that the creative common license helped a lot, people really like the concept. I started working on the DUWS around the time I stopped my studies, not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. I had to find something to occupy my free time and a few weeks later, what do you know... The first alpha of the DUWS was released. Life happened and I started studying again. However, it was really hard to keep up with my studies while working on the DUWS (and having a social life), but the support from the community kept me going. When the MANW contest was announced, I took this opportunity to drift away from the DUWS and work on something completely different (Green Draw SP campaign) I always wanted to do. While I was working on my campaign, people were asking me if I would continue the support of the DUWS, but I really didn't knew. On one end, I had a lot of plans regarding the DUWS, on the other end, I felt really burned out only working on ArmA3 during my free time, especially near the end of the submissions deadline where I had to haul ass. So I just took a break from ArmA3 for an undetermined period of time. The thing is, I still get comments on the steam workshop page of the DUWS, people are still subscribing to it (nearly 115 000 subscribers, that's crazy) and I still get swarmed with friend requests from unknown people on steam. And a lot of people are making youtube videos of my mission. I just wanted to tell you how I feel like. Everytime I see something that is related to the DUWS, I caress the idea of working on it again (there are still A LOT of things to improve), but the only thing keeping me back from working on it again is the fear of not having enough time for it and thus leaving people with hope and an unfinished beta like it is now. From time to time something or someone reminds me of the DUWS and I cringe. Will I start working on it again ? I don't know. I have so much plans and so little time :/

The actual .pbo Is it normal ? Is there a delay between file sync on SWS ? Now that I've announced on the steam workshop page that I've released my entire campaign, I'll probably look like a fool if I can't get this fixed quickly. edit: Steam publisher let me reupload the .pbo if I change the file name. However, after waiting for the file to upload, I just get "Item publishing failed". And each time I try to reupload the .pbo under a different name, I get less and less free steam cloud storage, like if those files were still inside the cloud.
  12. Part 2 is out ! If you already have completed the first part, just select the last mission and hit the "reverse" button to play. A lot more variety in the gameplay and the storyline really kicks in hard. I hope you'll have as much fun playing the campaign as I had making it guys. Unfortunately, I haven't received as much feedbacks for the testers. So, if you find any bugs, make sure to let me now and I'll fix everything ASAP ! Again, thanks for the support everyone ! Also, right now steam workshop is being capricious as usual and won't update the .pbo, so please download the campaign manually. Install the campaign like an addon, not a campaign.

  15. and This is me. And like Kydoimos, I really miss the MP aspect of the game. I think since I started working for the MANW contest, I haven't played once in MP. Also, I've always wanted to do something like you guys are talking about, in my way: You would control a PMC, some sort of rebellion/resistance or SF group(the background is not that important, the game mechanics are), and the game would alternate between 2 parts: Between missions, you are at your base, manage missions, ressources, logistics and personnel, maybe even have some sort of a big map where you can move your assets like a board game (but that would require A LOT of work). There would be also a "mission" part where the missions are randomly generated and where some persistence is present here as well, like having special squad members with abilities and increasing/gaining your own abilities. My ideal game would be some sort of Jagged Alliance/Brigade E5/7.62 High Calibre made into a FPS. The storyline would only be a justification for game mechanics
