Well I was looking for a way to repalce the Humvves .50 with Strykers, in order to balance the missions (in my opinion OPFOR have some unfair advantage using BDRMs against jeeps) but I have some probs. I've decompressed the the PBO with WinPBO (don't redirect me to Eliteness since I can't get it to work and after reading some other threads I came to the conlcusion that other tools should works fine for mission files at least) and I've opened the SQM file using the latest CHOPSE version but I found such file incredibly messed up (an issue that I've no experienced opening with files from user made missions for ArmA). Eventually I found the classname for the vehicles to replace, then I had re-PBO the files and put it in the addon folder but after starting the demo to test the result the missions doesn't even appears in the menu. I wonder if the bisign files have something to do with my problem. Any hint? Thank you. Klavan

    Very nice video indeed! Too bad I've to wait for february for ArmA. Btw I hope to see more of these stuffs for other choppers, covering all the aspects of flying those mad machines....maybe one day I will be able to travel for more than a mile without crashing into ground like a stone. Klavan

Sure I will buy the game when will be out in Italy, mine was only an attempt to correct something wrong in the missions not to hack the demo (thisi is far far beyod my abilities and my will too). And after all I agree with BIS that demo missions have to be "protected" in some way. Well I will enjoy what's in my hands 'till now. Klavan
  5. Yes I've renamed the file name and changed the SQM to match the addons requirements. Klavan

If think Baddo is right and my latest attempts seems to confirm that the bisign file have something to do with this: every time I try to load the demo I received an error message about "corrupted data" obviously referring to the modified mission files. Maybe someone from BIS could say something about this. I've tried to put an user's made MP mission in the addon folder, but again without success. Klavan
  7. Wheeled.pbo size is 65,0mb for the demo. If you're right full version pbo should be larger. Anyone can canfirm this? BTW i'm going to try both methods: different compression tool and different names for the missions/pbo. I'll let you know later.     Making a Medic

    AFAIK such ability can be defined in the unit's config only. No way to turn a simple soldier into a medic in the mission editor. Klavan
  10. Try this then: ((damage object 14393) > 0.999) Replace number 14393 with the proper object ID for the bridge. I've tested this line in OFP and it works fine. It shouldn't be different for ArmA. Klavan

    What about modified CTF? I think it's quite unbalanced: BLUEFOR should have strykers not hummers with MG. BRDMs are quite an unfair advantage for OPFOR. Klavan

    You're probably right: to say the truth I'm not a chooper/aircraft lover and I never was neither in OFP. So this is a minor problem (if this is a problem at all) for me at the moment. Now I have to leave: I feel the need to play the demo more even if today it's Xmas! Klavan

    After triyng to fly an UH-60 I have to agree with those are complaining with the flying model: without proper peripherals is quite unplayable. The auto-hoover is pretty useless as the chopper do what it wants anyway: I've crashed to ground countless times while trying to figure how I should pilot it. Better to ignore flying vehicles 'till BIS (hopefully) will fix 'em. As for AR and light weapons I'm quite happy with 'em: in OFP I liked playing missions that featured JAM HD weapons so the new recoil/ballistic model is not a big challenge/surprise for me. Klavan

    Well I played the demo many hours by now and I didn't find any problem finding fast servers..... Instead I have a question: although I've no probs with CTF and Coop I've experienced very long loading times for CTI and after a couple of minutes max of waiting I usually turn to something else. Is it me or somebody else are having the same issue? Klavan edit Another question: why I sometimes find myself being a seagull instead of a soldier ?? edit2 I've got the impression that the bullet dispersion is now increased a bit (less times being sniped by AI at 200 mt distance)? Am I dreaming?

    Demo today....WOOT

    I played the demo more now and I'm feeling comfortable with ArmA minute by minute. The movements are OK and weapons recoil/accuracy seems good after all (just take some time to train a bit with 'em), maybe not perfect, but not crap. Driving vehicles doesn't seems so much different from OFP, at least for wheeled ones. Unlucky I'm actually forced to play CTF only, since loading time for CTI are very longer at least for me: I just get sick after 2 minutes of waiting, too much for me. I wonder why. With the settings I posted above (I've changed 'em a bit in the meanwhile to gain a more nice overall graphic) I've got a good fluent gaming experience although I've got some probs with objects and vehicles LOD, but I'm pretty sure It's caused by my old crappy PC. I'm enjoing it! Klavan

    Hi all. I've passed some hours playing MP with the demo and I'm pleased to see how BIS optimized the engine. They did a good job and with my current system (P4 3ghz - 1gb RAM - ATI Radeon 9600 126MB) a can play the demo with the following settings: I had some fun last night and even if I can't say too much about the game (i need to test it more) I enjoyed it very much: the new movement sytem is good (yes you need some time to feel confortable with it but then it's ok) and the new weapons recoil is a bit "strange" expecially for the AK, but I buried some bad guys neverthless! The most important things I want to say is that i will buy ArmA when it will be out in Italy and that I'm going to forget OFP! Happy Klavan
