Terox: thanks for correcting the ASR Grenadier fix Proti: I noticed that the latest version (22nd Aug) doesn't include 3 pbo from zcommon: zeu_cfg_core_ai_engagement zeu_cfg_core_ai_sensors zeu_cfg_core_ai_spotting Does it mean that these 3 pbos are out-dated ? i.e. they should not be used? OK re-tested this mission last night and the wounding problem we encountered earlier seems to have disappeared. I don't know whether this is because we updated a few of our mods (CBA and Zeus AI) or the new beta patch for A2 (72588). In any case, I'm very pleased to say that we'll now be resuming operations in this area! -

OK my clan and I finally got round to testing this one last night. Basically it goes well until we make contact with the enemy, whereupon we got royally screwed because every soldier and vehicule on the island seems to converge on our position within a matter of minutes. Our main obstacle seems to be the armour (Vodniks, BMPs) and our lack of anti-armour weapons. Our only hope seemed to be to run/crawl toward them and attach satchel charges (very dangerous once we're spotted) and/or scrounge an RPG-7 off a dead AT tango. I guess my suggestion is: can you modify they mission so that players can choose their weapons before the mission? Or at least have 1 AT soldier in the squad. Don't get me wrong we had great fun (love in the insertion by RIB) but after the 6th attempt, we started to get a little cheesed off. -

Proti: bump? FYI, we used the new Zeus AI for the first time last night with my clan and it was simply brilliant; the AI simply incredible guile and cunning. Initially everyone was crapping their pants. Even the simplest of missions is now a serious operation. Thank you so much! -

Very nice indeed. Really seems to evoke the wet, hot and sticky nature of the jungle. Looking even better than the last sincere attempt at a Vietnam FPS; Vietcong from Pteranadon. -

Thanks for the update. I've only had the time to test it for an hour or so but so far all seems stable and the AI seem sneaker than ever ;) BTW I couldn't help noticing that the archive also contained another PBO called asr_cfgweapons_fix_grenadiers. I checked the readme but found no mention of it. So, should this PBO be only used by OA users? Or can humble A2 users also use it? -

Does this mean that I add these 3 pbo (and their corresponding bisign files) zeu_cfg_core_ai_skills zeu_sys_AI zeu_FindCover to my existing @zcommon folder? Which, given that it already includes these 4 pbo: zeu_cfg_core_ai_engagement zeu_cfg_core_ai_sensors zeu_cfg_core_ai_skills zeu_cfg_core_ai_spotting would mean that my new @zcommon folder will contain these 7 pbos, right? zeu_cfg_core_ai_skills zeu_sys_AI zeu_FindCover zeu_cfg_core_ai_engagement zeu_cfg_core_ai_sensors zeu_cfg_core_ai_skills zeu_cfg_core_ai_spotting 2. What about the sub-folder of the @zeu_AI archive called "ArmA2 only" ? Here are a couple of suggestions: a) Maybe you want to change the descriptions for Endurance from Good/Weak/bad to Strong/Tried/Weak ? b) Is this effect influenced by altitude? i.e. the higher the runner, the quicker the get out of breath... -
I echo the "nice first attempt, poor attitude" interpretation. Sadly it seems like more and more people round here think that they don't need to be polite. We're a community that exists because we share a passion and a similar set of values. We really appreciate people's contributions ; you only have to look at the constructive feedback that most modders receive (JTD, Solus, SNKman, RKSL, GB-Stalker, etc.) Being polite doesn't make anyone a girl and/or fanboi. Likewise having no manners doesn't make one an uncompromising hardman, just a single-minded bigot. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Operation Arrowhead performance optimizations/comparisons

I agree with the others, i.e. upgrade your video card and leave CPU/RAM upgrades for later. Grab a Radeon 5830 as it offer only slightly less performance than its bigger brother (5850) and it costs significantly less (saw it for only €180 in the sales this week). Also it overclocks really well. So you should be able to overclock it to near-5850 levels. If you prefer Nvidia, then try the Geforce GTX 460 that was recently released. You can already find it @ €200 for the 768MB version or €220 for 1GB version (slightly faster too). I'd also overclock your processor. I have an E8400 and I have safely reached 3.98 GHz (from 3.0) using only a cheap HSF (Arctic Cooling Alpine Pro @ €20). With the money you save from buying a cheaper video card, do your CPU a favour and grab a decent HSF, e.g. Scythe Mugen 2 for €40. With such an efficient HSF, provided you install it correctly, you can easily be able to overclock your CPU by +20-25% and safely too (no overheating). -

As an A2 bod with no OA I understand that I'm now relegated to the side lines. Does this ban also extend to CBA? i.e. if I use Six Updater to download a newer version of CBA (108, as I already have 107) will this bugger up: a) my ACE install? (v1.3) b) other CBA-related mods? e.g. STHUD, GL4, etc. Or on the contrary will the updated version simply benefits (optimisations, bug fixes, etc.) -

Any progress on implementing TrackIR support? This is one of my favourite addons and TIR is prolly my best hardware investment. It'd be great if they worked together. -
rexehuk: great video. really helps appreciate the value of this mod. Sorry if this has been asked already but will the AI react to the level of players' voices? e.g. a player shouting will attract more attention from AI than a player whispering
