    you've been serving since you were 10? Think there might be a translation issue here and i think the USMC is like us you sign up for a set term (say 12 years) but you can leave after you have done your minimum service (like 4 years or something) EDIT: my bad misread your post, thought you said you were 17 now and had done 7 years. not you started at 17 and had done 7 years

    reserves, and your planning to join? or is wc gonna go all the way to 2016?

    by joining before mk7's became standard issue for the reserve. 6A's are still allowed to be used, 6's had to be traded in. I sent my 6 in got a 6A back, thought i was stitched up, then noticed the benefits so kept my mouth shut ;)

    from personal experience i've found if you scrim a mk6 enough people mistake it for a 7, though benefits of the 6 over 7 is its lighter and can be fitted with a riot mask, so i don't mind hanging onto mine for a while longer.

    British army reserve, The rifles. No promotions here either so far, went to officer selection but slammed my drinks home in the bar so you can imagine how that went. Still i only joined late 2014 so i still have time to go and try with old NCO ranks.

    I don't know if you were off or not man, you gave me a clearer understanding of how they work than I've been able to find. So just for me to kinda break it down in my own mind, Russian officers tend to be more permanent than the NCO's and so they are used as the voice of experience for the NCO's to learn from?

    Depends on the officer....unless the Russians are radically different to the British and Americans. Like you know most officers up to around company commander...maybe battalion commander (if things have gone really wrong) will be involved in the fighting. Not necessarily putting rounds downrange, but close enough to be shot by the enemy if they ain't careful. Also is that the armored officer unit your talking about?

    so i have the feeling that Rikugun is either really into the Korean war....or he's North Korean. Either way i learnt something new today, gotta love the community ;)
